Chapter 1081: Baradiel’s Proposal
Chapter 1081: Baradiel’s Proposal
Ethan took a deep breath to rein in his anger and once again stared at the horizon.
“Nothing’s changed,” Ethan said after he regained his composure. “I don’t care about what Ashmedai and the rest say. I will do what I have to do.”
Baradiel nodded. “Right now, you can only rely on your strength and the strength of your allies. However, I have a proposal for you. If you agree, I will also lend you my strength.”
Ethan, who needed all the help he could get, glanced at the Progenitor, who temporarily borrowed the body of his lover.
“What is it?” Ethan asked. “If it is within my capacity, then I will agree.”
“Don’t worry. It’s certainly within your capacity,” Baradiel replied with confidence. “But you might not like it.”
The Progenitor of Primordial Ice then leaned on the railing of the Flying Ship and stared at Ethan.
“As you already know, Nicole and I are not really compatible,” Baradiel said. “Right now, her life is no longer in danger because you transferred a few years of your lifespan to her.
“Once I leave her body, she will start to recover the remainder of her lifespan and be able to live her life as she originally wanted. However, in order to do that, I will need to find a vessel first… and that is where you come to play.”
Ethan frowned and made a guess. “You want me to become your vessel?”
Baradiel shook her head. “A tempting offer, but I am not interested. What I need is a new body that will perfectly fit me like a glove and allow me a rebirth of sorts.”
The young man was currently in the right state of mind to ponder what Baradiel was hinting at.
Since that was the case, he simply asked Baradiel to tell him straight what she needed from him.
“I already told you that I need a new vessel that will fit me like a glove,” Baradiel stated. “There is only one way to do that, and that is for Nicole to give birth to me.”
Ethan blinked once then twice before finally realizing what the Primordial Progenitor was trying to tell him.
“You want to become Nicole’s baby?” Ethan looked at Baradiel in shock. “Our baby?”
Since he and Nicole had already confessed their feelings for each other, becoming a family was already a done deal.
They would just need to wait a year or two before Ethan could marry his lovers and start a family together.
“That’s right,” Baradiel nodded. “Since I’ve been with Nicole since she was young, I can easily adapt to her body. With your bloodline’s help, my power’s current incompatibility will not become a problem in my new vessel.
“If you agree to help me, I will not hesitate to go all out and help you save your wife. Although I can’t fight for a long time, I am confident that I can handle two to three Progenitors on my own.”
Ethan looked at Baradiel with a conflicted gaze.
On one hand, having her help would increase his chances of saving Lily.
However, in exchange, this meant that his first born with Nicole would be the Progenitor of Primordial Ice.
“Does Nicole know about this?” Ethan inquired.
“Yes,” Baradiel replied. “She wanted to wait for the right time to tell you, but this incident happened. Since you are off to war against Progenitors, there is a chance that you might not survive.
“So I decided to talk to you and ask that you make her conceive, so I can have a vessel even if you are killed in battle. Don’t worry. Even if she succeeds in conceiving, I can delay her pregnancy up to three years.
“That way, if you do succeed in saving Lily, Nicole wouldn’t have to worry about a pregnancy until after she has graduated from the academy. What do you think about this offer?”
“… I need to talk with Nicole about it,” Ethan, who felt that he couldn’t decide this matter on his own, decided to compromise.
Baradiel nodded in understanding and closed her eyes.
Half a minute later, a sigh escaped Nicole’s lips as she regained control of her body.
“I’m sorry,” Nicole said. “I wanted to tell you about it after things settled down. But Baradiel
is worried that she may not get another chance if… if something happened to you in your fight against the Progenitors.”
Nicole walked up to Ethan and hugged him tightly.
“I know that you care about Lily, and you will do anything to save her-even sacrificing your life if you have to,” Nicole said. “But she, I, and the rest of those who love you don’t want that
to happen.
“We want to be with you. We want to grow old with you, to bear your children and raise them with love and care. Ethan, remember this, your life is no longer your own. So, don’t think about sacrificing yourself because that will not make anyone happy.
“We don’t need to sacrifice anything to be happy. This is why I asked for Baradiel’s help to save Lily. In return, she wants to have a vessel that is born from our union.”
Ethan hugged Nicole tightly, feeling the coldness exuding from her body. Since Baradiel had taken control of her earlier, her body had once again become very cold to the touch.
The young man already knew what to do, so he simply warmed her up by absorbing the excess coldness that was left behind by the Progenitor of Primordial Ice.
After he sensed that the young lady’s body had regained its warmth, he finally asked the question that was on his mind.
“Are you fine with giving birth to Baradiel?” Ethan asked.
“I don’t mind,” Nicole replied. “Also, giving birth to a Progenitor is something worth braging about. Also, although she was reluctant, she still agreed to call me Mommy after I gave birth
to her.”
A giggle then escaped her lips, finding the prospect of it quite funny.
One of the strongest Progenitors that ever existed was going to become her daughter and would even have to call her Mommy.
Ethan also found Nicole’s statement quite amusing. “So, did she say anything about calling
me Daddy?”
Since they were already on this topic, he decided to ask more about it.
“She didn’t mention anything about that,” Nicole answered with a smirk. “But, I’m sure you can ask her that in exchange for agreeing with her proposal.”
The two then stared at each other before the young man caressed the side of his lover’s face. “Are you really fine with it?” Ethan asked.
“Do you have any idea what it feels like when someone constantly talks to you inside of your
head?” Nicole asked.
“I do,” Ethan replied.
“Y-You do?”
“Mmm. It’s a bit complicated.”
In fact, he didn’t only have one person talking to him all the time.
He had two of them.
Even now, Sebastian and Ethan’s Other Half were chuckling inside his Sea of Consciousness, saying things like “Oh girl, if you only knew,” and “Ethan is already used to it, Nicole.”
Nicole looked at the handsome young man and realized that he wasn’t lying to her.
“You sure have a lot of secrets, Ethan,” Nicole said as her hands moved to playfully rub his chest and lower abdomen. “It makes me want to take your clothes off and dig them out one by one until you have nothing to hide.”
‘Girl, don’t threaten Ethan with a good time.’ Sebastian crossed his arms over his chest.
‘Oh, you sweet summer child. I bet that Ethan will get her undressed faster than she can
undress him,’ Ethan’s Other Half smirked.
The two then chuckled at the same time, clearly enjoying Nicole’s playfulness.
“So, what do you think, Papa?” Nicole asked in a teasing tone. “Are we going to do it, so
Baradiel will help you save Lily?”
“Okay,” Ethan replied. “But wait until we get to Atlantis.”
The young man planted a kiss on Nicole’s forehead because he still needed time to prepare his
heart for this undertaking.
Although it sounded simple on the surface, Ethan had some reservations about it.
But he was sure that when it was time for him to rescue his wife, he would need Baradiel’s help to increase his chances of success.
Also, he understood that letting Baradiel stay inside Nicole’s body would be detrimental in
the long run.
There might not be any problems in the short term, but things would likely become difficult
in the next three to five years.
If giving birth to her would solve all of these problems, then Ethan wouldn’t mind letting the Progenitor of Primordial Ice call him Daddy.
