Chapter 1080: You Should Stop Worrying About Things Outside Of Your Control

Chapter 1080: You Should Stop Worrying About Things Outside Of Your Control

Lily was only able to sigh in relief when the Progenitor was finally gone.

She didn’t dare to utter even a single word earlier, choosing to stay silent over having her precious baby corrupted by miasma.

The young lady would rather die than to let that happen, so she endured the ridicule and humiliation of the being that had kidnapped her from her home.

She didn’t know where she was, but she had a feeling that she was no longer in Midgard, the thought of which made her feel anxious and alone.

At that moment, she noticed something moving out of the corner of her eye.

At the edge of the room, a faint spark flickered to life.

Soon, this spark started to move in a circular motion, like a small sparkler that was being swung round and round.

A moment later, a portal formed, and two little girls appeared right in front of her eyes, making Lily’s eyes widen in shock.

Maple and Cinnamon, who noticed their mother-in-law’s shocked expression, hurriedly pressed their fingers over their lips as if to tell Lily not to say anything.

Understanding that the two little girls might have come to rescue her, she nodded and waited for them to come near the capsule holding her captive.

“Mother-in-law, are you lonely?” Maple asked.

“Mother-in-law, are you hungry?” Cinnamon inquired.

Despite the fact that she didn’t know how the two girls managed to find her, Lily couldn’t help but smile as the mere appearance of the two of them calmed her heart down.

“What are the two of you doing here?” Lily said with worry. “Have you come to rescue me?”

Maple shook her head. “We can’t right now, Mother-in-law. The void is unstable, and getting here was already extremely difficult. If we take you with us, we might get swept up in a space storm and end up in a place far worse than this world.”

“But don’t worry, Mother-in-law, Cinnamon is here!” Cinnamon said. “We’ll keep you company until Father-in-law comes to save you~”

Lily was quite thankful, since the two girls renewed her hope. However, she was still worried about them because the Progenitors might capture them if they were discovered.

“Can the two of you go back to Midgard and find Ethan?” Lily asked. “Tell him where I am, and let him handle the rest. This place is too dangerous for the two of you.”

Maple and Cinnamon glanced at each other and smiled at the same time.

“Mother-in-law, there are many dangerous places in the multiverse,” Maple said. “But for us, this place isn’t dangerous at all.”

Cinnamon patted her chest as if she had everything under her control. “Cinnamon is not worried about those Progenitors, Mother-in-law. Mama and Papa can beat them with a flick of their fingers!”

Lily didn’t know if she should laugh or cry at the two adorable gluttons, who were doing their best to make it sound like getting captured by Progenitors wasn’t a scary thing.

Fortunately, she remained calm and told the two girls to not raise their voices, so the Progenitors wouldn’t be able to discover them.

Since Maple and Cinnamon were both girls, they actually listened and lowered the volume of their voice.

They then took out two small chairs and a table from out of nowhere, then started to put some snacks on top of it.

Lily saw potato chips, gummy bears, cookies, and other snacks that were familiar and

unfamiliar at the same time.

Seeing this scene, she was finally unable to stop the giggle from escaping her lips. Maple and Cinnamon looked like they were just out to have a picnic.

They even offered her some of their snacks, relieving some of her tension.

However, since the capsule she resided in was sealed tight, she simply shook her head and told them to enjoy their snacks instead.

Her earlier fears and anxiety slowly vanished as she gazed at the two adorable gluttons. ‘Maybe they came to see me because they are worried about me,’ Lily thought. ‘They are also doing their best to not make me feel anxious and lonely. But, will it really be fine?’

Lily didn’t know where Maple’s and Cinnamon’s confidence was coming from. But, seeing them act as if they owned the place, she decided to put her trust in them.

Right now, the only thing she could do was wait and keep her children safe.

She then glanced at the capsule a few meters away from her that was filled with miasma.

That was the same capsule Tiruru used to threaten her, so even looking at it made Lily feel extremely uneasy.

Following her gaze, Maple and Cinnamon saw the capsule filled with black liquid.

Perhaps knowing that it was making their Mother-in-law uncomfortable, Cinnamon walked toward it and opened her lips.

A moment later, the capsule trembled for a brief moment before it was sucked up in Cinnamon’s mouth, making Lily almost cry out in surprise.

Fortunately, she was able to cover her lips in time, preventing her from making a sound.

Cinnamon, who had just sucked up the black capsule, turned to face Lily and dusted her hands.

She then raised her chin proudly, as if telling her mother-in-law that she already took care of everything.

While all of these were happening, Ethan and the Flying Ships were speeding to the sea in order to reach Atlantis as fast as possible.

His lovers tried to assure him that everything was going to be fine.

However, despite the fact that Ethan did his best to remain calm, the mere thought of his wife suffering at the hands of the Progenitors made him feel as if his heart was being squeezed

inside of his chest.

“You should stop worrying about things outside of your control.”

Ethan turned around to look in the direction of an indifferent looking Nicole, which made the

young man frown.

“Baradiel?” Ethan inquired.

“Who else?” Baradiel replied coldly. “Nicole doesn’t have the guts to tell you something like this during this time.”

The cold beauty then stood beside Ethan, and stared out over the horizon.

“According to the information given to you, your wife has been kidnapped by the Plague Faction,” Baradiel stated. “If that’s true, then she should be in Akkadian, the homeworld of

Erra’s Faction.

“Perhaps they’ll use her as a bargaining chip to force that perverted Demon, Ashmedai, to release Erra. However, whether he will agree to trade Erra with your wife is another matter.”

“And why wouldn’t he agree to trade?” Ethan almost growled after hearing this bit of

information.

Earlier, he thought that the Plague Faction attacked Lily because of what he did in the Realm of Arkanthos, which once belonged to Zorathul.

Ethan was more than willing to return to the world of the Gargoyles if it meant that his wife would return to him unharmed.

“It’s all politics,” Baradiel stated. “Erra plays an important role in the Plague Faction, and setting him free would pose additional conflicts between the Factions in the Lands of

Saraqael.

“I’m certain that Ashmedai didn’t capture Erra on his own because that Progenitor is a cowardly creature. Ashmedai might have gotten help from some of his allies, which allowed him to capture and trap Erra in his realm.

“This act weakened the Plague Faction, forcing them to lessen their attacks against the

defenders of Midgard. So, even if Ashmedai wanted to do the trade, his allies might not agree

to second the motion.

“In the end, the life of a woman and her children couldn’t compare to the lives of millions of

people living in this world.”

Ethan clenched his fists so hard that cracking sounds could be heard.

Baradiel didn’t even bother to look at him knowing that he was finding all of this information

very difficult to accept.
