Chapter 1082: Are You Willing To Work Hard For That?
Chapter 1082: Are You Willing To Work Hard For That?
The corner of Baradiel’s lips twitched when she heard Nicole suggest that Ethan have her call him “Daddy” as one of the conditions in exchange for his agreement to her proposal.
Eliciting any reaction from the Primordial God, who was known as the most cold-hearted and indifferent among the Progenitors, was a feat one could take pride in.
Had she been in her prime, she would have definitely turned Ethan and Nicole into ice sculptures and displayed them in her Ice Palace as a way to tell people that they shouldn’t test the limits of her patience.
At the moment, she was even tempted to take over Nicole’s body and give the lovebirds a good smack for daring to add such a humiliating request.
If not for the fact that she was truly desperate to have her own vessel, she might have already done the things inside of her head and more.
However, she endured and merely pretended that she didn’t hear their conversation.
Fortunately, the two changed the topic to other things, which made her feel relieved.
“Ethan, this might be the hardest battle we will face in our lives,” Nicole said while the young man hugged her from behind. “I just want you to know that everyone and I will do our best to not drag you down.
“If you have to choose between saving Lily and saving us, prioritize saving Lily. Baradiel and I will do our best to protect everyone from harm. You can count on it.”
She and the young man looked in front of them.
The only thing they could see was darkness.
But they knew that it was always the darkest before dawn.
The sun would always rise, giving light to the world, chasing away the darkness that covered the world.
This meant that no matter how hopeless things looked on the surface, it would not always remain that way.
“Don’t worry,” Ethan said, hugging Nicole tighter. “We won’t be sacrificing anyone. None of you girls are more important than the other. Even if you were the one who has been captured instead of Lily, I would have done the same.
“This remains true for Chloe, Luna, Lilian, Emma, Lilith, Samantha, Ramona, and Illumina. The same can be applied to my Grandparents, Joanne, and my family.
“All of you are dear in my heart, the people I hold sacred. So don’t think that you girls are less important in my heart than Lily.”
Nicole smiled faintly before turning around to hug Ethan back.
“This is what I love about you,” Nicole said. “Say, after we’re done fighting against Progenitors and those who wish to harm our family, what would you say if I told you that I want to have a big family?”
“We’re already a big family,” Ethan replied, looking into her beautiful eyes that reflected his image.
“I’m not talking about everyone,” Nicole commented. “I’m sure that if all of us get pregnant with your child, we will indeed have a very big family. But what I’m telling you is that I want to have my ‘own’ big family. Are you willing to work hard for that?”
Ethan pondered before asking the question that was on his head. “How big do you want it?” Nicole gave Ethan’s lips a quick peck before answering his question.
“Since Baradiel is going to be our firstborn, I was thinking that we should add nine more siblings for her.”
“N-Nine?!” Ethan gasped because he didn’t expect that Nicole was interested in having so many kids.
While he understood that having many children was very common in the countryside, especially to those who had farms, having someone personally ask him to work hard to reach that number still made him flinch.
Even Baradiel, who was silently eavesdropping in their conversation, couldn’t help but do a double take and wondered if she had heard Nicole correctly.
“Why are you surprised?” Nicole asked. “Are you not confident that you can make me conceive ten times?”
“It’s not that,” Ethan replied. “I’m just worried that your body will not be able to handle giving birth so many times.”
“Don’t worry, I can handle it,” Nicole stated with confidence.
Being an only child, she often daydreamed of having many brothers and sisters playing with her during her childhood.
She didn’t want her children to feel lonely like she did, so she wanted to have a big family. Nicole could already see the fed up expression on Baradiel’s face as she took care of her brothers and sisters while she was growing up.
Just the thought was enough to make Nicole giggle, and Ethan looked at her helplessly.
“L-Let’s take it one step at a time,” Ethan said. “You still haven’t fully recovered your lifespan, and childbirth will take a toll on your body. Let’s start with three first, okay?” “Fine,” Nicole replied with a devilish smile on her face.
She would agree with Ethan for now until she fully recovered her strength and her lifespan.
Truth be told, Nicole wasn’t really serious about having ten kids.
She just wanted to observe Ethan’s reaction and see if he was willing to have that many kids with her.
There were very few things in the world that could faze Ethan. Surprisingly, this seemed to be one of them.
And after seeing how he reacted, Nicole felt that the itch in her heart had been scratched
properly.
She then talked more about building a family, so she could distract Ethan from his constant worry about Lily’s situation.
They talked about the names that they would give their children and what kind of education they should have.
The more they talked, the happier Sebastian and Ethan’s Other Half became.
The two even made side comments on how to properly raise children, despite the fact that they didn’t have any children of their own.
One thing led to another, and soon, the two shared a passionate kiss at the bow of the ship.
This made the members of the Protector Clans, who were manning the Flying Ship, exchanged winks with each other before slowly disappearing in the background.
They didn’t want to disturb their Young Master and his lover, who was helping him momentarily forget the burdens he carried in his heart.
