Chapter 1120: Chapter 902: Space Element Genius (Part 2)
His pale golden vertical pupils slowly swept across Helena’s face, the fury within forcefully suppressed, replaced by a chilling scrutiny.
He could sense the spatial rule fluctuations emanating from this white-robed witch; it wasn’t strong but like a dark current deep in the sea, hiding a power that could engulf everything beneath a calm surface.
He had battled with space-element demons and natives from other planes before, but the aura of the person in front of him made him instinctively reluctant to start a conflict easily.
“Helena.” He spoke slowly, his voice deep and cold, “This is between him and me, you’d better stay out of it.”
Helena tilted her head slightly, her delicate face still devoid of much emotion, as if confirming a very ordinary matter: “I’m not here to meddle between you two; I recently have an experiment needing a bit of Golden Dragon Blood, and it so happens I met you here, so I’m here to retrieve my experiment materials.”
Helena spoke with extreme ease, as if she were picking magic potion materials in her own magic potion field.
Valentine was stunned, then an anger more violent than before exploded within him.
Retrieve materials? This white-robed woman actually claimed the direct heir of the Bloodgold Family as her experiment material?
He abruptly raised his heavy sword, the flames on the sword rising violently as if angered, pale golden Dragon Might pressed toward Helena like it had substance, the stone slab beneath his feet cracking inch by inch.
“Arrogant!” He shouted, his heavy sword wrapped with a sense of Dragon Might and flames sweeping toward Helena from the entire passage.
Helena slightly turned aside, raised her right hand, and gently waved toward Duke and Vera’s direction.
The two only felt the air around them suddenly become light, the light and shadow on the stone wall in front of them rapidly elongated, and the next second they were standing in a quiet stone corridor far away.
They could still hear the distant dragon roar and explosion sounds coming from deep within the corridor, but the sounds were so distant as if coming from another world.
Vera glanced around, then looked at Duke, the two tacitly leaned against the stone wall, continuing to hide using the World Tree’s breath.
In the distance, the battle had already begun.
…
Helena stood in place, not moving a step.
When Valentine’s heavy sword burning with Dragon Breath Flame slashed three feet in front of her, the sword suddenly paused.
This wasn’t blocked by any barrier magic; rather, the short three-foot distance between the sword edge and Helena had been elongated countless times in an instant.
The sword edge continued to fall, the flames continued to surge, but it remained suspended in front of Helena, unable to cut down.
Valentine’s pupils suddenly contracted, he abruptly withdrew the heavy sword, and changed the angle for a horizontal slash, the sword blade drawing a scorching golden arc in the air.
Helena raised her left hand and lightly pointed beside her, silently opening an extremely thin space crack before her.
The arc of the heavy sword slashed into the crack, and the front half of the blade emerged from the void several meters behind Helena, with the flames slashing at empty air.
This strike was all in vain, the power having no ground, instead pulling him stumbling forward.
Helena didn’t give him a chance to catch his breath; she slowly spread her right hand in front of her chest and lightly twisted her fingers.
The stone slab beneath Valentine’s feet suddenly twisted.
He looked down, only to see the ground beneath him become like a twisted rag, the cracks spiralling from all directions converging towards him, space itself shrinking and pressing, as if the entire passage were squeezing towards his location.
He roared, driving the Dragon Might to the extreme, golden dragon scales emerging from beneath his skin, his body swelling again.
But this time he couldn’t fully transform into a giant dragon, Helena didn’t give him the time.
A half-meter-long space crack silently opened at his left shoulder, fast as if that spot was meant to split open.
Dark gold dragon blood droplets splattered from the crack, floating in mid-air into a string.
Helena beckoned with her right hand, the string of blood droplets, as if pulled by countless invisible threads, steadily flew into her palm, coalescing into a fingernail-sized dark gold blood orb.
She looked down at the blood orb in her palm, confirmed the quantity was sufficient, and flipped her hand to put it into her sleeve.
“Got it.” Helena said softly.
Valentine’s eyes turned completely red; this white-robed woman not only thwarted his attack but also, in front of him, plucked Golden Dragon Blood from his body as if picking fruit from a tree.
His roar exploded in the corridor, Dragon Might forced into activation, his half-human half-dragon form smashing surrounding stone walls into flying fragments.
He lunged at Helena without regard, Dragon Claw entwined with wild Dragon Breath and Dragon Might, each strike carrying a reckless pursuit of mutual destruction.
Helena still stood there, only her figure beginning to seem elusive.
Whenever Dragon Claw fell, her body seemed to flicker like a reflection in water, appearing on the opposite side beyond attack range.
Sometimes he’d clearly see her on the left, but when Dragon Claw fell, she’d already be in the shadow of the stone wall on the right, several paces away.
Sometimes her figure simultaneously appeared at three different positions and then vanished, like phantoms walking out of space.
Valentine grew weaker as he fought on. No matter how great his power, it’s all wasted if he can’t hit.
Every claw could easily smash stone pillars, yet he couldn’t even touch the corner of that white robe.
What drove him especially mad was that Helena never released any oppressive aura; her expression remained impassable throughout, like a lab technician mixing potions.
After a long while, Helena finally raised her right hand again, drawing a very small circle before Valentine.
The ground beneath Valentine’s feet abruptly emptied the moment the circle completed, dropping him half a foot, then coming to a hard stop.
His knee struck the fractured stone slab, emitting a muffled sound.
Valentine knelt on one knee among the pile of shattered stone slabs, head hung low, heavy breathing echoing through the stone corridor.
Dark gold dragon blood slowly seeped from the space crack on his left shoulder, dripping along the cracked armor seams onto the rubble.
His fingers dug deeply into the stone slab crack by his feet, knuckles turning a pale white from excessive force.
Then he slowly raised his head.
Those pale golden vertical pupils were no longer constrained and calm as before; something long dormant seemed to awaken in the depths of his pupils, a fine dark gold pattern spreading from the edge of his pupils outward like some ancient emblem resurfacing on the eye’s surface.
A string of deeply guttural Dragon Language syllables squeezed out from his throat, a sound not belonging to human vocal range, each syllable rolled up like thunder from his bone marrow.
The air around him started trembling, ancient lines on the surrounding stone walls flickered violently under the incantation of Dragon Language, as if unable to bear the brewing power.
Valentine’s body swelled again, this time not an incomplete half-dragon half-human form but a full, complete giant dragon form.
Dark gold dragon scales flowed across his entire body like tide, Dragon Wings roared open from his back, filling the width of the entire stone corridor.
The Dragon Head raised high in the confined space, pale golden vertical pupils burning like two suns in darkness.
He was larger than before, his aura more terrifying than Audric at his peak; tangible pressure from condensed Dragon Might cracking both floor and walls.
Valentine lifted his head, his dragon mouth wide open, the incantation of Dragon Language soared abruptly.
Soon after, blazing golden Dragon Breath gushed from his mouth, not directly targeting Helena but soaring upward, smashing the upper stone wall then frantically diffusing in all directions, turning the entire corridor into a golden furnace.
Apart from Dragon Breath, his wings shook fiercely, countless dark gold fire rains scattered from his feather seams like meteors falling from the sky, transforming the whole area into a burning golden Hell.
Dragon Meteor Rain, using the power of Golden Dragon Bloodline, commanded by Dragon Language, engulfing the entire space in indiscriminate annihilation.
