Chapter 1119: Chapter 902: Space Element Genius

This time the sand wall wasn’t perpendicular to the passage but was slanted, wedged between two stone walls. To pass, Valentine had to use his dragon claw to tear it apart entirely.

Valentine shattered the first sand wall, and as he charged toward the second, the fury in his vertical pupils almost overflowed.

He raised his front paw, five dragon toes striking down like siege hammers, while dragon breath spewed from deep in his throat. The dual attack hit the sand wall, forcing the four-color divine light to cave inward, with cracks spreading across the wall’s surface but not immediately breaking it.

“Duke—” Valentine’s dragon roar exploded in the stone corridor, dimming the patterns on the stone walls slightly.

The roar was full of rage and frustration. He transformed into a giant dragon to crush his enemies with unstoppable force, but this damned terrain prevented him from flying or fully turning around. Every time he charged halfway, he was blocked by another four-color sand wall.

Every time he exerted all his effort to shred a wall, another rose ahead.

The thief was right before his eyes, yet like a slippery eel, it darted around this cursed labyrinth while his golden dragon form could only crash left and right in the narrow stone corridor, worn down by the sand.

Duke and Vera had already used the time gained by the sand walls to rush through several branches.

The map in Duke’s hand raced through his mind, choosing the narrowest, most winding, least dragon-friendly side corridors at each junction to dart into.

The high temperature of dragon breath constantly pressed from behind, heating the stone walls, but his steps showed no hesitation.

Vera ran beside him, her complexion tense yet her breathing remained steady.

Another sand wall rose, completely sealing off the passage behind them.

He intentionally selected a curved corridor junction, the sand wall’s landing spot nested in the intersecting corner of the stone walls, using the terrain’s angle to absorb most of the frontal force.

Valentine’s dragon body momentarily jammed at the bend, forcing him to revert from dragon form to continue forward. By the time he resumed his human form around the bend, another four-color glowing sand wall faced him.

In an instant, Valentine slashed dozens of sword strikes, causing the sand wall to collapse into a pile of fine dark gold sand at his feet.

With power, he shattered the stone slabs beneath him, his dragon might radiating cracks, propelling him like a golden arrow through the bend, fiercely pursuing the two.

Despite the damned terrain hindering him at every turn, his speed remained exceptional, always keeping Duke and the others within reach.

Sweat already trickled from Duke’s brow, though his breathing remained steady. Continuously conjuring four-color divine light sand walls was consuming significant spiritual power and magic power.

Running like this, even if he and Vera managed to shake off Valentine, they’d exhaust themselves.

If confronted directly in such confined terrain, it would be difficult for him to successfully use six-color divine light for ambushes. After all, Valentine is a top-tier demigod-level power, far above ordinary demigod demons.

Just as Valentine crossed another bend, preparing to accelerate at the two, a figure suddenly appeared out of thin air behind Duke and Vera.

This person appeared so lightly that even Duke’s life rule perception only sensed them after their arrival.

She wore a snow-white magic robe, the edges embroidered with silver geometric patterns, devoid of any excess ornaments. Her features were delicate and quiet, with a demeanor as subtle as moonlight on a stone wall.

Helena, a demigod-level powerhouse from the Six-Ring Tower, a genius who mastered spatial rules.

Standing merely a few steps behind Duke, she raised her right hand, gesturing lightly and softly toward Valentine.

Valentine was still charging forward, his dragon might expanding outward, heavy sword at his side, every step shattering stone slabs, the golden flames trailing like a scorching comet.

But no matter how fiercely he rushed, it was as if he was marching in place.

He maintained speed, legs and dragon might continuously pulverizing the ground, surrounding stone walls quaking violently from the wind he stirred, yet he never closed the distance to Helena.

Valentine quickly sensed the anomaly, suddenly halting his steps, glancing down at his feet.

He was indeed running forward, every step landing solidly, with the stone beneath also shattering. Yet, the start and end of the shattered path remained confined to a small area below him.

He looked up, seeing Helena still unmoving a dozen steps away.

So close, yet separated by an invisible river he could never cross.

Valentine ceased his blind forward run, standing still, watching Helena with deep apprehension.

Duke also halted, turning to stand alongside Vera, offering a salute toward Helena.

Helena withdrew her hand, nodding slightly, her expression still calm as if nothing had happened.

“Thank you, Senior Helena,” Duke and Vera expressed gratitude.

Helena cast a glance at him, then at the ravaged passage behind, battered by Valentine’s pursuit, her voice wafting like a breeze through the stone corridor: “No need to thank me. As fellow members of the Six-Ring Tower, it’s natural to look after one’s juniors.”

Valentine stood still, his heavy sword lowered, the dragon breath flames on its blade remained slowly burning.
