Chapter 1118: Chapter 901: The Furious Dragon (Part 2)

The end of the trajectory slightly curled up, like a snake pointing towards its prey.

Valentine stared at the bloodline for a few breaths, then picked up the disc, squeezing out a second drop of blood from his fingertips, flicking it into his vertical pupils.

His body trembled slightly, and the pupils of his pale golden vertical eyes expanded a bit the moment the blood drop melted in, with faint dark red patterns spreading like capillaries at the edge of the iris.

He closed his eyes and, when he reopened them, the direction was already imprinted in his eyes, like pulling out an extremely weak yet sufficiently conspicuous line in a chaotic mist.

After a moment, he turned around and glanced at the two guards beside him.

“Let’s go, that guy is in this direction.” He put away the Blood Attraction Disc and stepped forward, walking towards the depths of the maze indicated by the trajectory.

The two guards exchanged a glance, each suppressing the bloody taste rising in their throats, gritting their teeth as they followed.

Valentine was evidently full of hatred for Duke, eager to tear him into pieces, hence resorted to such means to divine Duke’s location.

The three of them moved swiftly in the direction indicated by the Blood Attraction Disc, passing through over a dozen intersections, until they stopped at a relatively spacious stone corridor intersection.

The terrain here was more complex than the previous passages, with three stone pillars arranged in an irregular triangle in the center of the intersection, surrounded by paths leading to at least six different directions.

Valentine stood at the center of the intersection, raised his left hand, taking out the Blood Attraction Disc once again.

The dark red bloodline on the surface continued to wriggle very slowly, but the curved trajectory at the end had become blurred, as if disturbed by some force.

He frowned, raised the Blood Attraction Disc higher, changing angles, but no matter how he adjusted, the trajectory endpoint always pointed to the same area; narrowing the range further was impossible.

“Around here.” He whispered, the pale golden vertical eyes slowly scanning every stone wall around.

He closed his eyes, spreading out his demigod-level Spiritual Perception completely.

Every wisp of air movement, every flicker of stone wall texture, every tiny temperature change on the stone floor was vividly clear in his perception.

Valentine stood for a long time but was still unable to find that figure.

The entire World Tree’s aura completely merged Duke and Vera’s existence into the maze itself; they were like grains of sand hidden in a desert, even if Valentine’s perception was strong, he could not find their trail.

But the Blood Attraction Disc couldn’t be wrong; it pointed to this place.

People can hide, auras can hide, but the Blood Attraction Disc uses Dragon Blood to track the opponent’s inherent wave; once locked on, it can never completely disappear.

They’re right here, just hiding.

Valentine slowly opened his eyes, gripping the Heavy Sword he took from the guard.

He somewhat understood: Duke had some concealment methods that even his perception couldn’t penetrate.

If he couldn’t find them, then he wouldn’t search.

“Stand back.” He spat to the two guards, then stepped forward.

The two guards didn’t hesitate at all, quickly retreated, withdrawing to the corner of the passage dozens of meters away.

Valentine inserted the Heavy Sword back into the guard’s Sword Scabbard, letting both hands hang by his sides, beginning to release his bloodline.

A pale golden glow seeped from his skin surface, initially just a thin layer, like a gold rim plating outside the dark red Magic Robe.

Then, the glow suddenly surged like ignited oil; his body rapidly swelled in the light, the burst sound of the Magic Robe being torn from inside echoed in the corridor, fragments shattered into powder by the surging Dragon Might.

His muscle groups twisted, reformed in the golden flames, covered with layers of Dragon Scale.

Limbs transformed into sturdy Dragon Claw, Dragon Wings spread behind wide enough to cloak the entire corridor’s width, Dragon Head held high, the pale golden vertical eyes blazed in the eye sockets like two miniaturized suns.

Valentine transformed into a giant dragon, a furious one.

Dragon Tail swept across, the outermost of the three stone pillars violently snapped, half of the pillar smashed the ground, raising a shower of dust and rubble.

Both forepaws struck the ground simultaneously, feet shattering the gray-white stone slabs, cracks frantically spreading from him in all directions, sinking the entire intersection.

He roared deafeningly, then began indiscriminate destruction of everything around.

Dragon Breath Flame spewed from the giant mouth like a golden torrent pouring into the left two paths, burning the entire corridor into a molten channel.

Dragon Claw slammed left and right, crushing the granite walls into chunks, the rubble as large as millstones hurled in every direction, wrecking the ground and walls into pits everywhere.

Dragon Tail swept past, uprooting stone wall foundations, the whole wall section crashing down like toppled blocks.

Duke and Vera were hiding in a narrow high wall gap near the intersection at this moment, the aftermath of Dragon Breath brushed past their hiding spot, the heat wave singed a few hairs on Vera’s forehead, she pressed her lips tightly, exerting herself to suppress the energy fluctuations of those Thorn Flower around her body.

Duke pressed one hand on Vera’s shoulder, holding tightly onto the yet inactive Safe House Key, the World Tree’s aura firmly wrapped around them, not allowing the slightest fluctuation escape.

Valentine’s mad destruction continued, he began twisting his dragon body, progressing along the six paths one by one, each passage suffering the dual ravage of Dragon Breath and Dragon Claw, rubble rain from overhead, smoke and fire engulfed all.

He was going to force these two hidden ones out of their stone crevice using flames, stones, earth-shaking roars.

Another dragon roar, huge Dragon Wings whipped up a fierce wind, whirling smoke into spinning gray columns, scattering all mist and shadows that could provide cover.

He couldn’t see them, but he believed they must be somewhere.

And as long as he continued tearing down, he’d eventually strike them.

Valentine’s Dragon Claw had just shattered a stone pillar, a mass of rubble and dust billowed in mid-air.

Duke’s hand on Vera’s shoulder suddenly tightened, the two quietly slipped out of the hiding crevice, using the dust as cover to dash towards the nearest passage.

They employed no magic, nor released any aura, simply lowering their bodies, sprinting along the stone wall edges at maximum speed.

Vera’s Thorn Domain pressed to the extreme, tendrils silently spread along the ground, pushing aside small crushed pebbles without sound.

Duke continually kept the World Tree’s aura wrapped around both, like a thin pale green cicada wing.

Yet Valentine still detected it, the dust contained two faint air flow changes, left by two rapidly moving objects slicing through the air.

He abruptly turned his Dragon Head, the dark golden vertical eyes locked onto those barely visible outlines in the dust, a roar of fury exploded from his throat.

Dragon Breath Flames spewed like a breached golden torrent, sweeping towards the direction of their escape.

Duke didn’t look back, flicking his right hand behind him.

Dark golden sand particles rushed from his sleeve, instantly forming a sand wall enveloped in Four-Color Divine Light behind him, sealing the entire passage airtight.

Dragon Breath crashed onto the sand wall; the Four-Color Divine Light ignited a burst of dazzling brilliance, the flames decomposed, absorbed, and repelled layer upon layer by rules of light on the sand wall’s surface.

Valentine’s Dragon Breath persisted several seconds, the sand wall surface hissed with scorching sounds, yet it didn’t break.

Valentine furiously swung Dragon Tail, smashing onto the sand wall, the wall violently shook, surface finally cracked.

“Go!” Duke shouted low to Vera, continuing pulling her deeper into the passage.

They just turned a corner, Duke again formed a sand wall with a reverse hand motion, once more sealing off the path behind.
