Chapter 1116: Rule Fragment_2
Chapter 1116: Chapter 900: Rule Fragment_2
“Lead it away, as far as possible. The other one stay here to respond; after I seize the item, I’ll retreat from the east.” Valentine’s voice was extremely low, his tone calm, carrying a sense of natural confidence.
The two guardians had no objections, merely nodding simultaneously.
Valentine added another sentence: “Although that Level 4 Demon is not easy to deal with, we don’t need to truly fight it. Stalling it for a while is enough; I will act after you lead it away. Once successful, we leave immediately; this should be a Light Rule Fragment.”
Valentine stood in place for another moment, after instructing the tasks and retreat routes for the two guardians, he waved his hand to signal the start of the action.
The two demigod-level guardians exchanged a glance, simultaneously withdrawing a palm-sized dark gold metal box from the interior of their heavy armor.
They opened the box lid, each taking out a blood-red spindle-shaped crystal, and crushed it in their palms without hesitation.
At the moment the crystal shattered, a violent burst of energy erupted from their bodies, dark red blood vessel patterns surfaced densely over their skin, dragon breath flame spewed from their mouths, nostrils, and the seams of their heavy armor, twisting the surrounding air.
Their aura crazily surged in a very short time, the energy fluctuations of a demigod level forcibly elevated, already faintly touching the edge of Level 4’s threshold.
Duke watched clearly through the dark crevice. Those two blood-red crystals were likely Forbidden Amplification Items refined by the Bloodgold Family using Golden Dragon Essence Blood as the main ingredient, capable of greatly boosting the power of bloodline warriors in an extremely short time, though the cost must be significant.
The stone slabs under the two guardians were already scorched by the energy escaping from their bodies; this uncontrollable energy overflow itself was a sign the body begins to be unable to endure, yet apparently, no one cared at this time.
The two guardians charged out simultaneously to the left and right, wielding heavy swords enveloped by dragon breath flame, slashing towards the Bright Giant Lion in the center of the space.
Their speed was astonishing; the sword blades dragged dark gold flame rainbows through the air.
The Bright Giant Lion suddenly raised its head, dark gold pupils swiftly contracting, milky-white luminous mane standing upright in the same instant, and the temperature across the space rose instead of fell.
With a great mouth open, a thick pale gold light beam shot from deep within its throat, clashing with the dragon breath flame of the two guardians mid-air, and the explosion’s shockwave shattered several stone pillars at the space’s periphery with dense cracks.
The two guardians cooperated with extreme smoothness; with a miss, they immediately split off to the left and right, launching a second round of attack from two directions simultaneously, firmly drawing the Bright Giant Lion’s attention.
Shortly afterward, they began to fight and retreat, inching the Bright Giant Lion towards the direction of the passage beyond the space.
The three demigod-level demons stirred at the sight, about to join in encircling the two guardians when the Bright Giant Lion suddenly turned its head around, its dark gold pupils swept over them, a deafening roar exploded from its throat.
The roar carried clear pressure and command, and the three demigod-level demons simultaneously recoiled to their original guard positions.
They lowered their bodies again, encircling the Light Rule Fragment in the center, vigilantly scanning around the space.
Valentine saw the Level 4 Demon had been led away and didn’t delay further.
A layer of pale gold dragon scales surfaced over his body, and his limbs exploded with astonishing power as he shot into the center of the space like a golden arrow.
The first demigod-level demon had just turned its body, and his dragon claw had already pierced through its chest cavity.
The demon’s scale armor was like paper before the dragon claw, without even having time to counterattack, collapsed with a loud crash, the edge around the chest cavity still sizzling.
The second demon emitted a mournful howl, and swung its claw towards him, Valentine sidestepped away, right hand fingers converged into a blade, pale gold dragon breath flame gushed through the finger gaps, with one stroke severing its head.
The demon’s head rolled several times on the ground, dark red blood gushed from the severed neck, yet couldn’t even touch the hem of Valentine’s clothes.
The third demon was even more troublesome than the previous two, clearly realizing the situation, it did not fight Valentine directly any longer but retracted in front of the Light Rule Fragment, resolutely guarding with its tough scale armor and sturdy tail.
Valentine’s several dragon claw efforts barely blocked by it, each strike leaving bone-deep wounds on its body, but the demon stubbornly blocked in front of the fragment, not retreating a single step.
Valentine’s brow finally furrowed, a trace of impatience flashed in his pale gold vertical pupils.
He couldn’t linger here too long, those two guardians couldn’t hold the Level 4 Demon for too long.
Just as he condensed the dragon breath light blade again to slash down, his senses suddenly caught a faint fluctuation.
That fluctuation existed only for a moment, as light as a breeze naturally passing through the stone wall gaps, but Valentine’s dragon race instincts wildly warned him at this moment.
He abruptly turned his head towards the direction of the Light Rule Fragment.
Beside the fragment, a figure had silently appeared at some unknown time.
That figure wore a dark gray traveler’s robe, expression calm, right hand placed on the floating pale gold fragment.
The fragment flickered subtly in his hand, then disappeared as if severed from its connection with the Bright Space.
Valentine’s pupils suddenly contracted into two vertical lines, just as he clearly saw the side of the figure, the person already transformed back into a breeze, and like when he came, silently disappeared into the shadows at the perimeter of the space.
The entire process was as quick as an illusion, without the fragment’s absence from its original position, Valentine wouldn’t even be sure if he truly saw something.
The third demigod-level demon seemed to sense something too, but with its intelligence, it could not determine who took the fragment and could only vent more fury entirely on the dragon race before it, who was still attacking relentlessly.
Valentine roared furiously, slashed down his dragon breath light blade, splitting the third demon down its central cranium and rushed towards the direction where the breeze vanished.
“Duke!”
Valentine’s pupils suddenly contracted and immediately burst with a roar of extreme fury.
That roar vibrated through every stone corridor in the labyrinth, causing the ancient patterns on the stone walls to pulsate intensely with light.
He recognized this face, Duke snatched away the Light Rule Fragment right under his eyes, seizing what was supposed to belong to the Bloodgold Family.
Valentine was just about to pursue full force when suddenly from deep within the space behind him came a more violent, more terrifying roar than his.
The Bright Giant Lion returned, it did not even bother with those two guardians still struggling in the passage, directly shattered several stone pillars at the space’s periphery, its massive body surged towards the original position of the Light Rule Fragment like a dazzling white stream.
When it saw the fragment had disappeared without a trace, the dark gold pupil’s sense of rage nearly materialized, white luminescent mane rooted vertically, the temperature throughout the space dropped sharply, air around it condensed into countless tiny ice crystals, crazily revolving around its massive body.
Then it turned its head, its dark gold fury-filled pupils locked dead on Valentine.
Valentine did not hesitate, he retrieved a blood-red Dragon Blood Crystal Fragment from his sleeve, crushed it without even looking.
A thick blood red radiance exploded beneath his feet, enveloping his entire body into an oval blood-red light sphere, the blood-light so dense it bordered solid, upon emerging it already shot rapidly towards the depths of the labyrinth passage at a speed that left a trail of afterimages.
The Bright Giant Lion furiously pursued, the milky white stream crashed across the passage, shattering the stone pillars and walls blocking its path into pieces.
But the speed of the Blood Light Round Shield was too fast, it was a top-tier Witchcraft Artifact used by the Bloodgold Family specifically for life-saving, using purified Golden Dragon Essence Blood as an anchor to erupt far-exceeding Level 4 speed in a very short time.
