Wizard: Scamming a Demon God
Chapter 448 - 332: A Gift Before Parting
Chapter 448: Chapter 332: A Gift Before Parting
The moment he learned the conditions to hatch the Dragon Egg, Isaac understood why it had sought him out. Whether it required Magic Power for its original version or Divine Power for its Law-Breaking version, neither was a problem for him.
For the former, Isaac had a Dimension World, so he had more than enough Magic Power. The same was true for Divine Power. Even if the egg was a picky eater—requiring the Divine Power of a True Deity, just like a Virtual Divinity—it wouldn’t be difficult for Isaac, as a Mad Witch, to acquire it.
Besides, he came from the Real World, so his potential wasn’t bound by the Wilderness Dungeon. It was safe to say there was no one more suited to hatch the Dragon Egg than him.
After learning the egg’s origin, Isaac nodded in satisfaction. He put it away, and his gaze naturally fell upon the topic everyone was discussing: the Internal Circulation Reformation Plan for the Underground Palace.
Although he only glanced at the document’s title on the table out of courtesy before looking away, as an outstanding Wizard, he had instantly discerned the purpose of their research and the project’s general approach.
Great Creation. The name sounds specific, but the Concept is actually quite broad. It can be a tangible object or a type of rule. In short, as long as it can enact some degree of change upon the world, it counts.
Of course, that only describes the mechanism. Whether something can actually be considered a Great Creation depends on whether its values are up to par.
For example, the Law-Breaking Swordsman created by the Silver-robed Mage Ophis mechanically met the definition of a Great Creation. Unfortunately, its values were severely lacking, so while it did receive feedback from the world, it couldn’t be considered a Great Creation.
Generally speaking, there is no hierarchy among Great Creations, but when Wizards make them, they tend to favor creating tangible objects rather than rules.
This isn’t a matter of difficulty; there is no hierarchy among Great Creations, and every single one is incredibly difficult to create.
It’s just that, generally speaking, tangible objects make it easier for a Wizard to judge whether they meet the standard for a Great Creation. Take Ophis’s Law-Breaking Swordsman, for example. By the time he was halfway through its creation, he already had a good idea of whether the path he was on was viable.
Upon encountering such a situation, a Wizard typically has two choices. First, they can confirm there is no solution and give up, cutting their losses. Second, they can press on. Even if it ultimately ends in failure, they can at least receive a boon and reap some rewards to add to their experience.
But abstract rules are different. Until the very last step, it’s impossible to judge whether they satisfy the Concept of a Great Creation...
’Hmm, with the exception of the rules of a Little World?’
In any case, Isaac had never heard of a rule-based Great Creation originating from a Little World. On the contrary, many Little Worlds had been used as materials by Great Wizards to create Great Creations...
However, compared to tangible objects, it is easier to find loopholes in abstract rules and thus determine a direction for research. Then, one can use Little Worlds to practice, slowly accumulating experience and building a foundation, to ultimately complete the creation of a Great Creation.
And right now, their project was taking a rule-based approach, which was indeed a good path to take. The Underground Palaces within the Wilderness Dungeon were far too dependent on Demon Gods; this topic was definitely worthy.
Assuming they could complete it, of course.
But in Isaac’s opinion, it was a long shot.
So he quickly looked away. This was partly to avoid suspicion, and partly because he genuinely wasn’t interested.
When the other Wizards saw where Isaac was looking, they hurriedly covered the document. They clearly didn’t want him to take an interest, especially Ophis.
’He’d just said he owed Isaac a favor. Would it look bad to immediately refuse if Isaac asked to join their research?’
’But if they actually let Isaac join...’
’...they were too scared. That included Olisti, who was on relatively good terms with Isaac. Judging by the Dragon Egg, Isaac would most likely continue to make deals with Outer Gods. Associating with him was just too risky...’
Fortunately, Isaac wasn’t too bothered. Seeing them avoid him like the plague, he simply raised an eyebrow, made a bit of small talk, and then left the Magic Castle.
Because the problem had been resolved so quickly, the battle outside the city hadn’t even settled down by the time Isaac returned to the Underground Palace City.
However, the trip had helped Isaac make up his mind. He didn’t plan to stay in the Wilderness Dungeon any longer. He didn’t have much time left, not nearly enough to complete an experiment related to a Great Creation. In fact, it was questionable whether he could even find a new line of inquiry in that time.
As for collecting materials, with the help of the Underground Palace City, Isaac had already gathered most of the ones he could. He predicted that once the battlefield outside the city was cleared, he would receive another large batch of Magic Materials.
The remaining materials he hadn’t collected all had incredibly low "drop rates." Even if he stayed for another five years, there was no guarantee he’d be able to gather them all.
So rather than waste five years here, he might as well exchange that time for Divine Power and materials.
The opportunities in the Wilderness Dungeon World were quite special, but the world was vast; he could always find similar places. ’And from what Olisti revealed before, it seems there are quite a few of them?’
However, he would have to wait until he got out to learn the specifics. The realm above Tier Four seemed to be very special in the Real World...
So special, in fact, that it could not be conveyed through words or writing!
This was one of the reasons he was so eager to leave this world. He couldn’t wait to understand what made it so special.
But before he left, there were still a few things to do...
After exchanging for the over eight hundred, nearly nine hundred types of Divine Power he needed, Isaac still had a full six months of his allotted time remaining. There was no need to hold on to this extra time. He couldn’t accomplish much with it anyway, and he had already made most of the necessary preparations.
So, he exchanged it for some materials.
He had originally planned to wait until the battlefield was cleared, see what materials he had on hand, and then decide what else to exchange for. But since only six months remained, there was no need to wait. Clearing the battlefield was a laborious task, anyway; it might not even be finished by the time he left.
It was worth mentioning that the Divine Power he exchanged from the Wilderness World’s source consciousness all thoughtfully came with complimentary Gemstones for storage. Otherwise, Isaac would have had a hard time finding so many Gemstones to hold the Divine Power on such short notice.
’Of course, it’s possible the cost of these Gemstones was already included.’
In any case, it made storing them very convenient.
After putting away the Divine Power Gemstones and materials, Isaac began tidying up his lab. Most of it he would take with him, but a few items would be left behind, including ten Virtual Divinities.
He had no choice. His experiment to create Virtual Divinities using a Miracle Ceremony had failed. His only option was to directly leave ten Virtual Divinities for Mephisto and the others. Paired with the Magic he developed for them to suppress their Divinity, it should be enough, provided they were cautious.
And then, there was Maxu Kant...
