Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 447: Chapter 331: Law-Breaking Dragon (2)
Isaac shook his head and casually flicked a glimmer of light into the Magic Castle. He then stood hovering in the air, awaiting a response from its master.
Inside the Magic Castle, within a hall that had shrunk by several sizes, the Silver-robed Mage, who was gathered with the others in research and discussion, raised an eyebrow. He glanced up at Olisti and Jörmungandr.
"What’s wrong?" Olisti asked, confused.
Jörmungandr returned his gaze with a questioning look of his own.
"Isaac is outside. It seems he acquired something rather extraordinary during the ritual and wants to come in so I can take a look. What do you say?"
"Then let him in. It’s rare for there to be something he doesn’t know."
"Mm," Jörmungandr agreed with a nod.
While he didn’t interact with Isaac as much as Olisti did, there weren’t many people he acknowledged. As one of the few Wizards capable of traversing the [Mysterious] at Tier Four, his approval was not easily won.
Isaac was one of them. Thus, he was quite inclined to agree with Olisti.
Hearing this, the Silver-robed Mage and the others raised their eyebrows. To receive such high praise from these two... now they were even more curious about Isaac.
...
"Greetings, seniors." Isaac was a little surprised to see the group huddled in research, and he offered them a bow.
"There’s no need for that. We just reached Tier Four before you did. When it comes to research, you’re no worse than any of us," Olisti said, cutting straight to the point without any pleasantries. "I heard from Ophis. You got something from the ritual that even you can’t analyze?"
"Yes." Isaac nodded and took a few steps forward. With a wave of his hand, a giant, half-meter-tall egg covered in silver patterns appeared on the table. "This is it. My [Analysis] Authority gets no reaction from it, even when I use an Enhanced ritual. Judging from the patterns, it seems related to the [Breaking Law] Concept, which is why I wanted to ask you, Senior Ophis."
"This looks like... a [Dragon Egg]?" Jörmungandr leaned closer to the giant egg, examining it carefully. He frowned and spoke with uncertainty.
"Now that you mention it... it does look like one, and the timing fits..." the others chimed in, pushing up the glasses on their noses in agreement.
"[Dragon Egg]?" Isaac was both surprised and relieved.
A [Dragon Egg] isn’t necessarily the egg of a Giant Dragon. The term is typically used to describe the birth of a completely new High-level Life, one that has a high probability of forming an entirely new species.
’If this thing is a [Dragon Egg], then a lot of things make sense. A ritual on the scale of the world’s ascension Trial is certainly grand enough to give birth to such an Existence. Plus, it’s closely related to the [Breaking Law] Concept. The creature that ultimately emerges will most likely be a [Law-Breaking Dragon]!’
’Of course, the [Dragon] in this context is also a proxy for a High-level Life, not a member of the Giant Dragon race.’
’But this is all just speculation. As for the actual truth...’
Isaac and the others turned to look at Ophis. He would definitely know.
"Mm." Ophis nodded, looking at Isaac with some surprise. "This is indeed a [Dragon Egg]. But... what did you do? Even I almost wasn’t qualified enough to obtain this [Dragon Egg]."
After a pause, Ophis said, "Let’s call this a trade. I won’t take your [Dragon Egg], but I am quite curious. I’ll trade you for the information. If you’re not willing, we can exchange it for other Knowledge instead."
’Isaac didn’t react much to Ophis’s somewhat impolite behavior. Ophis was a classic new-era Arcanist, a firm believer in the principle of equivalent exchange. This was perfectly normal. Besides, it wasn’t like this was some big secret. Anyone could find out with a little effort. Trading this information... he was actually coming out ahead.’
"I didn’t really do much. Just killed some Tier Four Demons," Isaac said with a helpless wave of his hand.
"Huh? Then how many did you kill?" Ophis didn’t believe Isaac would lie to him. At their level, most Wizards had their own pride. It was highly unlikely Isaac would try to deceive him, especially after Ophis had explicitly proposed a trade. But...
’Killed Tier Four Demons?’
’How many would he have had to kill for his contribution to surpass that of the ritual’s creator?’
"Hmm... SSS~ I haven’t really counted. Let me think... The ones I dealt with personally... probably three to four hundred Tier Four entities. Most of them were Pseudo-Tier Four, though. The number of true Tier Four was only a few dozen."
The crowd: "..."
’Only?’
’Could a few dozen Tier Four Demons really be described with a word like "only"?’
’Wait a minute!’
’What did he mean by "dealt with personally"?’
’Don’t tell me there’s more?’
Just as everyone was reeling in confusion, Isaac continued, "As for the others, killed by my Servant Demons, not counting my Magic Pet... I haven’t gotten a specific tally yet, but it should be over a thousand, right?"
Isaac said, a bit unsure of himself. Seeing everyone stunned by the numbers, he quickly tried to clarify, "It’s not as crazy as it sounds. The main reason is that the Underground Palace respawned them too quickly. Otherwise, there’s no way I could have killed so many Demons in just one month."
Hearing this, the corner of everyone’s mouth twitched, including Olisti and Jörmungandr, who knew Isaac relatively well. ’Does this guy even know what he’s saying?’
’Those are fucking Tier Four beings!’
’Why does he talk about it like it’s as easy as killing chickens?’
"You..." Jörmungandr’s mouth opened, but ultimately, no words came out. He turned to Ophis and said with a sense of relief, "You really should be thanking Isaac. Without him, this ritual probably wouldn’t have been completed before we had to leave."
Ophis nodded silently. ’That level of combat power is just too absurd!’
The others felt the same way. They knew Isaac’s combat strength was formidable, but they never imagined it was *this* formidable!
’And to think he could maintain this level of power even after reaching Tier Four!’
’Is this what it means to be a Mad Witch?’
In that moment, the gazes directed at Isaac grew heavy with solemnity. After all, they were also Tier Four—specifically, Strong Tier Four, several notches above those Tier Four Demons.
But to be honest, even they could only score quick victories against the Pseudo-Tier Four entities, and only if the numbers weren’t too high. Otherwise, they too would have to execute a "tactical retreat," or risk being overwhelmed.
In other words, if they were to face Isaac, they’d be wiped out just as quickly!
The only exceptions were, perhaps, Jörmungandr and Ophis.
After all, they had already reached the pinnacle of Tier Four and were on the verge of breaking through to Tier Five at any moment.
’And this guy... how old is he even?!’
After a moment, Ophis let out a long breath, barely suppressing his shock. He said with deep feeling, "He’s right. Really, we owe this to you."
Isaac raised an eyebrow but said nothing, accepting the sentiment.
’While he was somewhat surprised by the strength of these Tier Four Mages, he had always had a clear assessment of his own power, so their reaction wasn’t a complete shock.’
"Now, back to the matter at hand," Ophis said. "This is indeed a [Dragon Egg], and a [Law-Breaking Dragon] at that!"
With the confirmation, a joyful expression spread across Isaac’s face. ’This thing is incredibly valuable!’
’After all, a [Dragon Egg] represents an entire race of High-level Life!’
’A brand-new one, at that! It’s priceless from any perspective!’
’It was no exaggeration to say that if he sold it, he could gather all the materials for Isaac’s Floating City in one go!’
"But!"
The joy on Isaac’s face vanished. ’Here comes the catch.’
"As you know, [Breaking Law] is a troublesome thing. Normally, hatching a [Dragon Egg] requires a massive amount of Magic Power, and this one is no exception. But because it’s a [Law-Breaking Dragon], it is born with Magic Immunity. This is also why your [Analysis] Authority was ineffective against it. So, a [Law-Breaking Dragon] requires Magic Power to hatch, but its [Breaking Law] attribute causes it to reject, or even nullify, Magic Power!"
Isaac’s brow furrowed. ’Doesn’t that mean it can’t be hatched?’
"So, if you want to hatch this [Dragon Egg], Magic Power won’t work. You need a higher tier of energy—namely, Divine Power. And as you know, that bunch of Deities won’t..."
Halfway through his sentence, Ophis stopped, a look of surprise on his face. The others also turned to stare at Isaac in astonishment.
Isaac froze for a moment, then blinked. He was starting to understand... why this thing had ended up in his hands...
