Wizard: Scamming a Demon God
Chapter 449 - 333: Maxu Kant and Mephisto
Chapter 449: Chapter 333: Maxu Kant and Mephisto
To be honest, while Isaac wasn’t some lecher, he was still a normal man. It was impossible for him to have absolutely no reaction to Maxu Kant’s enthusiasm, whatever its cause.
So, if she wanted to leave with Isaac, there was no problem with that. He already had so many Servant Demons; one more wouldn’t make a difference.
However, her Divine Authority needed to be adjusted. In the long run, the development of the Underground Palace City depended on it. After all, even with the Law-Breaking Swordsmen giving the Wilderness Humans a new path forward, who knew what other strange problems might arise in the future?
The last time the Endless Tower had opened, the humans of this world had still been able to become Extraordinary.
Therefore, a sufficient birth rate was important. An explosive birth rate was extremely important.
Isaac already had a plan for this. There were two solutions. The first was to create another Mother Goddess with the same core Divine Authority. This wasn’t difficult. As long as it didn’t touch upon the level of true Authority, a Divine Authority could have multiple wielders.
But... that was unnecessary. Isaac himself had no need for the Mother Goddess’s Divine Authority.
When the need arose, the methods naturally had to be updated. Thus, the technique for transferring Divine Authority was born.
It was worth mentioning that the creation of this technology was all thanks to the former Fighting God.
The previous Fighting God had sensed a crisis in the birth of the Mother Goddess, which led him to contemplate escaping Isaac’s control. He fused with a Divine Authority granted by an unknown Demon God in an attempt to break his shackles.
Unfortunately, he was not a true Deity. Though he broke his shackles, his life also entered its final countdown.
As the Fighting God approached the end of his life, Isaac conducted many experiments on him, madly testing out his various wild ideas. This was one of the reasons the Fighting God was on the verge of a mental breakdown before he died.
The Divine Authority transfer technique was one of the products of these experiments. To be precise, it should be called the Virtual Divinity transfer technique.
It could only be used on Virtual Deities; it most likely wouldn’t work on genuine Deities.
For example, when the old Fighting God died, Isaac had been unable to transfer out the [Demonization] Divine Authority.
Overall, however, the technology was relatively mature. Otherwise, Isaac wouldn’t have given the [Evil Eye] Divinity to Harmon.
Although he could guess what Maxu Kant was thinking, Isaac still asked her formally. As expected, the question yielded a pleasant surprise—another fifty words for the Chapter!
After sending an overjoyed Maxu Kant to find a suitable successor, Isaac began designing a new Divinity for her.
Isaac didn’t intend to build Maxu Kant for a combat role. His own combat power was already more than sufficient; he had practically reached the upper limit of Tier Four.
To advance any further, he couldn’t rely on Virtual Deities. He would have to rely on himself.
And as it happened, Isaac did have an open position for her: intelligence.
Or rather, an intelligence hub.
Isaac’s intelligence network had been established by the Dimension Apostles, but frankly, it wasn’t very efficient. The Dimension Apostles were uneducated; having been converted from slaves, most of them were completely illiterate.
Not only was collection inefficient, but collation was as well. Usually, whenever Isaac wanted information, he had to send out a query to all the Dimension Apostles at once. Then, he had to wait for the ones who had the relevant information to report back to him. The whole process was rather inefficient.
Maxu Kant’s new job would be to compile all the intelligence gathered by the Dimension Apostles. She would act as a central processing hub, able to instantly organize and present the relevant information whenever Isaac required it.
At the same time, she could leverage her Divine Authority to expand the network’s reach, acquiring even more valuable intelligence.
Thus, Maxu Kant’s final form would be—
Divine Name: God of Imaginary Numbers
Divine Power: Virtual Data, Mind Penetration, Cluster Consciousness, Boundless Void, Dimensional Fissure
Divine Authority: [Virtual Data], [Mind Control]
Her power set was rather extreme. Her greatest strength was collecting and integrating intelligence. As for combat, she had only one ability, and it was purely for self-preservation: the Divine Power, [Boundless Void].
This ability was not an Authority, but when Enhanced by Divine Power, it gained the property of bypassing Authority. By unleashing a massive flood of junk data, it could instantly overwhelm a person’s mind.
Even a Tier Four Mage with their agile minds and powerful computational abilities would experience a moment of Thought Stagnation. And that single moment was all she would need to escape through a Dimensional Fissure.
The transfer of the Virtual Divinity went very smoothly. By the time Isaac had finished all his preparations, most of the Demon Materials from the recent unrest had been delivered to him.
He hadn’t even had time to issue the order, but Mephisto had already deduced his intentions from his other commands.
It wasn’t hard to guess, after all. One look at Maxu Kant was all it took.
She hadn’t been this happy in a long time. She was grinning from ear to ear.
In truth, Mephisto was rather envious that Maxu Kant would be leaving with Isaac. His own feelings for Isaac hadn’t reached the point of obsession, but he was deeply grateful for the new life Isaac had granted him and the Wilderness Humans.
Moreover, as the first human under Isaac to become a Virtual Deity, he had long sensed the limits of his own strength. As his mastery over his powers grew, so too did his desire for even greater strength.
Unfortunately, the previous Fighting God had already demonstrated the consequences of such an action with his own life.
He knew that if he left with Isaac, the limits placed upon a Virtual Deity would one day be broken. With the Divine Master’s help, he could witness a much vaster world. But...
"Do you want to come with us?" Isaac asked seriously, noticing the materials Mephisto was handing him and the faint envy in his eyes as he looked at Maxu Kant.
Isaac truly admired Mephisto. He was so upright, and Isaac greatly approved of his way of handling things. If taking Maxu Kant along was born from a man’s basic instincts, his desire to take Mephisto stemmed from pure admiration and the regret of seeing such talent go to waste.
’A man like him shouldn’t be buried in this little Wilderness Dungeon.’
However, even as he extended the invitation, Isaac didn’t think Mephisto would accept. After all...
"I cannot." As Isaac had predicted, Mephisto decisively refused. He looked up, his gaze penetrating the ceiling of the underground room to rest on the bustling people in the Underground Palace City above. A faint, yet dazzlingly brilliant smile touched his lips. "The people here need me more."
Isaac gave a noncommittal nod and handed ten Virtual Divinities to Mephisto.
