Chapter 445: Chapter 330: Isaac: I shall take what I want myself, and you cannot give me what I do not want

Forget the others who struggled in their fights; even Isaac, who could end battles swiftly, was growing tired of the hassle...

The main problem was the complete uncertainty of when it would end. It was an unsettling feeling, leaving him with no end in sight...

With a sigh, Isaac led Maxu Kant onward, moving the battle to another location.

However, their strenuous Hunting of Demons was not without its benefits. At the very least, the pressure on the various Magic Capitals had indeed lessened considerably.

Meanwhile, as Isaac was engrossed in Hunting Demons, far away in the depths of a world suffused with a bloody mist, a pair of dark eyes as vast as the heavens slowly opened. Sensing that Its injuries had healed slightly, a flicker of confusion crossed Its gaze.

’Something’s not right...’

’How did I heal so quickly this time?’

’It’s only been...’

’Less than half a year?!’

Registering this absurdly short time frame, Its consciousness jolted, attempting to rouse Itself from deep slumber. But Its injuries were ultimately too severe. After a long struggle, the wounds took their toll, and It began to drift off again.

As for the reason It was healing faster than expected...

It tried to investigate, but wasn’t sure if Its severe injuries were affecting Its perception. All It could tell was that a Divine Envoy was constantly sacrificing Tier Four Demons and Evil God’s Apostles to It. Only with this supply of offerings could Its injuries mend so quickly.

’Incredible. Do I actually have such a devoted Divine Envoy?’

It instinctively disbelieved this, but Its injuries were simply too grievous. Before It could identify the Divine Envoy, It sank back into slumber. The only thing It could manage before drifting off was to toss something through the sacrificial channel.

A reward.

And also, a poison!

...

Back on Isaac’s side, having just sacrificed a Demon to the Master of Billions of Flesh, he stared in surprise at the Divine Spirit Book in his hand as its pages flipped on their own. An extremely evil power suddenly surged from within, forming a blood-colored mist that floated in the air. It seemed to want to merge with something, yet it couldn’t find its target.

Just as he was puzzling over this, a message from the Divine Spirit Book brought him instant understanding. He stared at the blood-colored mist with even greater astonishment.

As it turned out, this was a reward from the Master of Billions of Flesh, who had apparently mistaken Isaac for Its loyal Divine Envoy...

And this thing wasn’t as simple as just a reward. Fusing with the blood-colored mist would not only result in Enhanced power but also grant a portion of the Master of Billions of Flesh’s Authority—[Flesh Golem]!

This Authority was similar to a High-level Transformation Technique. Using a creature’s flesh and blood as a Casting medium, one could completely transform into that life form. Not only was there no time limit on the transformation, but one would also fully possess all the powers of that creature!

It was exceedingly powerful, and that was just its basic application. In the hands of a Wizard, it could be used to unleash even greater power.

However...

Isaac, however, merely gave it a couple of glances before taking out a Gemstone and sealing the mist inside. He had no intention of using it.

This thing seemed wonderful, but it was actually a hidden poison!

After fusing with this blood-colored mist, one’s body and soul would fall under the complete dominion of the Master of Billions of Flesh!

And dominion wasn’t the end of it—being devoured by the Master of Billions of Flesh was the final fate!

These Demon Gods and Evil Gods don’t play games like "I won’t kill you as long as you don’t betray me." To Them, whether one was a Believer or a Divine Envoy, the outcome was the same. It was merely the difference between being killed on the spot and being fattened up for the slaughter.

Even the Dimension Apostles, who appeared to be treated much better, were, in essence, only in that position because they had already been devoured by a Dimensional Demon God. That was how they obtained their seemingly freer form of Existence.

Even with the Divine Spirit Book, Isaac had no intention of taking such a risk. If he wanted this power, he didn’t need the Master of Billions of Flesh to give it to him. He would take it himself.

’Only what I take for myself is truly mine. If I don’t take it, you can’t force it on me!’

This was the principle Isaac adhered to when dealing with Outer Gods.

Still, he only stored it away. He had no intention of doing anything else with it, like sacrificing it to another Deity in some kind of trade...

After all, he and the Master of Billions of Flesh were on the same team for now!

"Hm?"

Isaac had just put away the now blood-red Gemstone when he felt a rhythmic pulse, prompting him to look up at the sky. White clouds drifted lazily across the blue expanse. ’It looks like... nothing’s changed?’

Just as he was feeling puzzled, Isaac’s gaze suddenly sharpened. ’No, that’s not right!’

Tier Four was a level very close to the realm of Deities. A battle to the death between experts of this caliber would create a massive disturbance. The disturbances on Isaac’s end were minimal only because he was powerful enough to have near-absolute suppressive force over the rampaging Tier Four Demons, and he also had his Illusionary Demon Eye to neutralize their attacks.

But the others didn’t possess Isaac’s versatile and powerful abilities; the disturbances they created would surely not be small. With so many Tier Four beings engaged in mortal combat, would the sky... still be this blue?

This calm?

The answer was a definite no. Therefore, the current situation could only mean that an Advanced Existence had forcibly smoothed over all the disturbances. And in this Wilderness World, where the power ceiling was Tier Four, there was undoubtedly only one entity capable of this—the World’s Source Consciousness!

Isaac’s eyes widened as he activated his [Analysis] Authority at full power, trying to find the slightest trace of a clue.

Unfortunately, even when all the changes had ceased and the feedback from the world’s Ascension Trial arrived before him, he still couldn’t find a single clue.

’As I thought. Is my stake in this world still too low?’ Isaac mused, reaching out to accept the orb of light.

In that instant, a stream of information flowed into his mind. His permitted stay in this world had been extended, but...

Only for five years!

Isaac’s brow furrowed. Five years wasn’t enough time to accomplish anything of note. He certainly couldn’t create a new Wizard path in this world in that time; he preferred to work on that after returning home, as he was quite confident in the two paths he had conceived.

In a world like this, he could at best create some practice works, but to expect him to complete them in five years...

That was asking a bit too much.

Fortunately, the feedback system was quite intelligent. Wizards who didn’t wish to stay could choose to exchange this time for desired materials and then leave the Wilderness Tower. This option was quite tempting for Isaac.

After all, the Thousand Gods Book he wanted to craft required a vast quantity of materials—an amount so large it was absurd. This option could save him a great deal of effort.

For example, he could directly obtain the Divine Power he was lacking!

To this day, Isaac still hadn’t been able to meet the first condition for crafting the Thousand Gods Book—one thousand types of Divine Power!

But if he could trade for it, that would be a different story. In the world of the Wilderness Dungeon, Divine Power was the one thing in abundant supply. After all, before Isaac and his group arrived, Demon Gods and Evil Gods were frequent visitors. Forget a thousand types—he might even be able to collect ten thousand!

After a moment’s hesitation, Isaac set the choice aside. As for whether to choose time or resources, he would have to return to the Underground Palace City and assess the situation first.

As for now...

It was time to check his rewards!

Isaac looked at the orb of light in his hand, the corners of his mouth turning up slightly.

The extended stay was merely a secondary bonus from the ritual’s gift. The orb of light was the main prize—though, in the eyes of many Wizards, it was the other way around.

Extending his right hand, Isaac gently tapped the orb of light.

Instantly, the orb dispersed, and three items appeared before Isaac: a sword, a scroll, and... an egg?

Isaac looked at the egg with a puzzled expression. A quick scan with his [Analysis] Authority told him what the other two items were. The sword was an inheritance medium for the Law-Breaking Swordsman class. With this item, even a human not from the Wilderness Dungeon World could become a Law-Breaking Swordsman, which was quite good.

Although it capped out at Tier Four, that was still excellent. One shouldn’t be fooled by how easily Isaac advanced; in reality, most Transcendents might never break through to Tier Three in their entire lives.

Especially for melee-focused brutes.

’My brother would probably pay a good price for this~’

As for the scroll, it was even more incredible. It detailed the method for creating an Underground Palace. This was far more useful to him, since he had his own Dimension World, and this could be a source of even more materials!

As for the egg...

It was strange. His [Analysis] Authority couldn’t get any reading from it...

"Sigh... It really is time for an upgrade," Isaac lamented, putting everything away.
