But soon, the Fighting God realized something was wrong. It wasn’t that He had figured it out, but that the Demon God behind Him had!

The Fighting God’s [Demonization] Divine Authority had been enhanced by the power of [Mysterious]. Consequently, the [Demonization] Divine Authority held by other Demon Gods would weaken in turn, even though this particular Divine Authority was already quite feeble.

But no matter how weak, it was still a Divine Authority—the power of a God!

To a God, that was still quite important. This was especially true because the Fighting God’s [Demonization] Divine Authority had come from Him, making the drop in power particularly obvious on His end!

So, He contacted the Fighting God at once to inform Him of the situation.

He didn’t suspect the Fighting God, as He had already figured out His origins. He was just an Ordinary person who had gotten incredibly lucky, not some self-crippled True God.

Although the Fighting God tried desperately to hide this fact, how could such a simple ploy fool a Demon God?

When the Demon God informed Him, the Fighting God’s first reaction was panic!

He knew He was exposed!

This terrified the Fighting God. No amount of reassurance from the Demon God behind Him could help. Right now, His mind was filled with the image of the former Master of Blood, expressionlessly self-destructing to cover their retreat.

And the Mother Goddess’s coldly respectful expression toward Isaac...

The Fighting God’s motivation to resist came from fear. Therefore, as His hope of resistance was about to be shattered, the fear in His heart was amplified to an unprecedented degree!

Not far behind Him, Isaac watched the Fighting God’s visible panic and fear with great interest. ’He’s clearly been told something by the entity behind him,’ Isaac thought. ’The Fighting God isn’t smart enough to react this quickly on his own.’

Isaac took out his Magic Book and, with great interest, began to record the Fighting God’s condition.

The Fighting God’s current state, dominated by fear, was, in a sense, a symptom of His polluted Divinity. When Divinity weakens, Human Nature naturally grows stronger.

The Fighting God of the past would have been affected by His emotions, but never this obviously.

Human Nature isn’t all positive, and this holds true even for a Deity’s [Human Nature].

While observing the changes in the Fighting God’s [Divinity] and [Human Nature], Isaac was also diligently searching for any trace of the Demon God behind Him.

Unfortunately, His opponent’s methods were far more sophisticated. Isaac failed to detect any trace of Him. Just like before, he could only lock onto the [Demonization] Divine Authority within the Fighting God’s body.

Resigned, Isaac had to shift his focus back to the [Demonization] Divine Authority. This power held some research value, as it had, after all, broken the restriction preventing Virtual Deities from increasing their strength.

Although it came with quite a few side effects, it could still provide valuable data for Isaac’s research.

In the days that followed, the fear that had erupted in the Fighting God’s heart made Him too scared to return to the Underground Palace City. He didn’t even dare to leave the Underground Palace at all. He remained there, frantically Hunting and devouring Demons. Only the faint sensation of growing stronger could slightly soothe His terror.

And so, Isaac continued to observe the Fighting God in secret, periodically making subtle moves to disrupt the balance between His [Divinity] and [Human Nature].

Don’t forget, in addition to his methods for corrupting [Divinity], Isaac also had ways to enhance it. As a result, the Fighting God’s following days were quite eventful. One moment, His [Divinity] would have the upper hand; the next, it would be His [Human Nature]. It was a true trial of ice and fire.

Unfortunately, this trial of ice and fire, personally administered by Isaac, brought Him not a shred of pleasure. On the contrary, He was on the verge of collapse!

However slow the Fighting God was to react, by now He should have noticed something was wrong. The drastic shifts between [Divinity] and [Human Nature] had nearly driven Him to a nervous breakdown. Much of the time, He could no longer even feel His own Existence...

Every day, like a zombie, He would wander through the Underground Palace in a daze, mechanically slaughtering one Demon after another and devouring them.

During this time, the Fighting God had resisted and begged for mercy, but it was all useless.

When He tried to resist, He couldn’t find Isaac. He couldn’t even find the exit of the Underground Palace!

He was completely trapped in the Underground Palace!

When He begged for mercy, He kowtowed until His head nearly split open, but Isaac never appeared or spoke. He merely continued to silently adjust the thresholds of [Divinity] and [Human Nature] in His subject’s heart, perfecting his methods.

Meanwhile, as time passed, the Demon God behind the Fighting God grew increasingly wary of Isaac.

It wasn’t because Isaac had weakened their [Demonization] Divine Authority’s power. He had solved that issue as soon as He noticed His own Divine Authority starting to weaken. After all, the problem originated with the Fighting God’s [Demonization] Divine Authority.

And since He was the one who had granted that power, it was easy enough to deal with—He simply had to sever its connection to [Mysterious].

Wizards were advancing, but so were Deities like Him. Nowadays, for both Wizards and Deities, [Mysterious] was mostly just a power amplifier. They were rarely constrained by it anymore, let alone by the Magic of a mere Tier Four Mage.

There was a clear difference in Level, after all.

But!

Isaac’s control over the Fighting God was simply inconceivable!

God Creation was already beyond His comprehension. In all His long life, this was the first time He had ever seen a Tier Four Deity, which was an entirely different Concept from a Tier Four Divine Species.

But as it turned out, creating a God was one thing... this guy could also exert such a powerful influence over a Deity’s [Divinity] and [Human Nature]!

It was no exaggeration to say that this was enough to threaten them!

That is, if this Mad Witch’s Magic was also effective against them!

A profound sense of threat rose in the Demon God’s heart. This was a Mad Witch, after all; their goals would never be so simple. He might have far greater ambitions for the future!

At this thought, the Demon God immediately decided—to flee!

’I can’t stay in the Wilderness Dungeon!’

’I have to pull all my power out immediately!’

Yes, after confirming that Isaac likely harbored terrifying ambitions, the Demon God’s first reaction was to run, not to eliminate Isaac.

There was no other way. Isaac was a Wizard, a Mad Witch at that—a very talented Tier Four Mad Witch. As long as Isaac played it safe, a Deity like himself could do nothing to him. His only option would be to intervene personally, but unfortunately, whether in the Wilderness Dungeon or the Real World, the amount of power He could wield was minuscule.

That small amount of power was nowhere near enough to deal with a Tier Four Mad Witch; it would only invite trouble for no reason.

Besides, there were plenty of ambitious Wizards out there. Especially for Demon Gods like Him, countless Wizards were eyeing them, wanting to capture them and exploit them for their own twisted purposes. They were simply not to be trifled with, okay?

If He couldn’t afford to provoke them, couldn’t He at least hide?

And His departure would become one of the main reasons for the Fighting God’s eventual breakdown...
