Chapter 433: Chapter 320: The Excited Fighting God

...

Ten days later, Isaac looked at the parchment in his hand, a slight smile on his face. It was done—the magic to resist the erosion of [Divinity].

To Isaac’s surprise, it was incredibly simple. There was hardly any difficulty.

But on second thought, Isaac understood. He considered the relationship between [Divinity] and [Human Nature]. True Deities must have been deeply troubled by this as well. After so many years, countless Deities had managed to preserve their sense of self. This meant that even if they hadn’t completely solved the problem, they must have developed some ways to cope with it.

And as long as such a solution existed, even if Isaac had never studied the relevant knowledge, he could develop it with relative ease!

It sounded strange, but in the current Wizarding World, this was relatively normal.

This incredible phenomenon was also related to a Great Wizard. No one knew how he did it, but he had created a rule—a powerful rule that sent the Wizarding World into an era of hyper-accelerated development.

When Wizards explore any existing knowledge or technology, they are favored by the [Mysterious], and their efficiency becomes incredibly high!

The rule takes effect regardless of who holds the knowledge!

Of course, such a powerful rule was not without a price. When a Wizard’s Level rose to a certain height, they would suffer the curse of knowledge. Under this curse’s influence, one’s innovative thinking would all but stagnate. Only by becoming a Great Wizard and entering the [Mysterious] could the curse be broken.

Isaac had learned this during his conversations with Olisti.

Before this, he’d been puzzled. Strictly speaking, the history of Wizards was not short; it was ancient. Yet for a long time, it had been in a state of stagnation. There was no shortage of peerless geniuses, but the Wizarding World’s rapid development had only suddenly accelerated in recent times.

The speed of it was simply unbelievable.

According to the records Isaac had seen in the Mad Witch Association and the Flesh Sect, ancient Wizards were not necessarily any less talented than their modern counterparts—especially the Mad Witches!

Their methods of dealing with the Outer Gods were so diverse and ingenious that Isaac was left utterly dazzled!

This provided a relatively reasonable explanation for everything, including his own rapid progress.

’To be honest,’ Isaac thought, ’before I transmigrated, I wasn’t stupid, but my brain wasn’t anything special either. I certainly couldn’t compare to actual researchers. But after coming to this world, the things I’ve created far exceed what I should be capable of.’

’Although my Golden Finger helped, I know those occasional flashes of inspiration in my mind also played a huge part.’

’At one point, I even suspected that some powerful entity was manipulating my life from behind the scenes. But since it was just a baseless fantasy, I didn’t dwell on it.’

Now, he finally had an explanation, and a great weight was lifted from his shoulders. As for the curse of knowledge...

’Hmm, it sounds terrifying, but according to Olisti, not a single Wizard has ever been afflicted by it. The reason is simple: the curse is calculated to descend only upon those at Tier Eight or Tier Nine.’

But to date, the highest Level a Wizard has reached is only Tier Seven!

That’s right, Tier Seven!

Because anyone higher than that is a damn Great Wizard!

There were plenty of Wizards like Isaac who began exploring the path to greatness as early as Tier Four. Those who succeeded in becoming Great Wizards naturally didn’t have to worry about the curse of knowledge. They would embark on an entirely new path, their very life forms changing once more, transcending conventional levels of existence.

As for the Wizards who couldn’t achieve greatness... their potential could only carry them as far as Tier Seven.

It just goes to show, an old timer is worth their weight in gold. If it weren’t for Olisti, who knows how long it would have taken Isaac to learn all this.

But back to the matter at hand.

The method to suppress [Divinity] was simple. The first was Faith. The Power of Faith, drawn from intelligent beings, is saturated with their myriad thoughts about the world. These chaotic thoughts are a force directly opposed to pure [Divinity]. Therefore, with enough Power of Faith, [Divinity] would not be able to dominate [Human Nature].

This was the method used by most True Gods. They had vast numbers of believers and harvested a considerable amount of Power of Faith, which was also the most fundamental source of conflict among Deities.

The second method was the soul. Soul Power was similarly "impure." Unlike the sustainable Power of Faith, souls were a one-shot deal. This method was mostly used by Evil Gods who lacked believers. They would devour massive numbers of souls to pollute their own [Divinity]. The price, however, was that the Deity’s own [Self] would be influenced by the tainted souls, becoming abnormally extreme.

It was hard to say whether this could even be considered a new form of [Divinity].

For Isaac, neither method was ideal. As for the first, the Wilderness Dungeon had a limited scope and could only provide a finite amount of Power of Faith. It was uncertain if it could sustain several Deities’ [Selves]. As for devouring souls, that was far too wicked—the path of an Evil God.

So, he created a third method for Mephisto and the others: Magic!

From the two methods above, it wasn’t hard to see that the essence of the solution lay in polluting the purity of [Divinity]. This led Isaac to think of something else that was similarly "impure": the [Mysterious] itself!

At first, he had actually considered using the junk data he had collected in his Dimension World. But experiments revealed that while it was indeed "junk," its Level was too low to affect [Divinity] at all.

That stuff was only good for frying brains!

But while the experiment had failed, it had directed Isaac’s attention to another high-level concept: the [Mysterious]!

Although the [Mysterious] was something all Legendary Mages pursued, it was in fact extremely complex. Strictly speaking, it wasn’t a "good" thing. It was full of "nasty stuff," and making rash contact with the [Mysterious] rarely ended well.

But that was for mortals. For a Deity, merely dabbling in the [Mysterious] was enough to affect the purity of their [Divinity], yet not enough to influence them on a deeper level. This made it an incredibly useful tool.

Of course, the prerequisite was that it had to be a mere dabbling, nothing too deep. Otherwise, they would end up like the Staff of Deformation.

The magic was created, but it still needed testing before he could give it to the Mother Goddess and Mephisto. After all, he had a rather good impression of them. The spell was, for now, only a theoretical construct. Its actual effects would require concrete experimentation and observation.

As for a test subject...

A smirk touched Isaac’s lips. His gaze fell upon the Fighting God, who was currently hunting Demons in the Underground Palace.

The magic he’d created over the past few days wasn’t limited to suppressing [Divinity]...

Raising his right hand, Isaac manifested a cloud of purplish-black Magic Power. With a slight twist of his fingers, the cloud dispersed into countless wisps that drifted silently toward the Fighting God.

At the same time, Isaac’s figure faded, following the tendrils of Magic Power. He appeared noiselessly behind the Fighting God, quietly watching as the mist seeped into the Deity’s body without a sound.

Upon closer observation, Isaac discovered that the Fighting God’s body now contained a new Divine Authority called [Demonization]. It was the most basic and ancient Divine Authority of the Demon God lineage, one that every Demon God now possessed.

This made Isaac unable to suppress a grin.

In this Extraordinary world, to be common was to be stripped of the [Mysterious]!

This applied especially to a power like Divine Authority, which was wielded by Deities.

Thus, under Isaac’s silent guidance, the purplish-black wisps of Magic Power—visible only to him—merged into the Fighting God’s body. Bypassing the core essence of the [Fighting God], it fused directly with the [Demonization] authority.

Immediately after, the power of the [Mysterious] was drawn forth by Isaac’s magic and infused into the [Demonization], greatly enhancing it!

The Fighting God couldn’t perceive Isaac’s actions, but he could feel the sudden, explosive surge of [Demonization] within his body. It made him incredibly excited!

He didn’t question it for a moment, assuming it was the result of his own hard work. After all, hadn’t he been diligently devouring Demons for this very reason?
