Chapter 435: Chapter 322: Three Years! Attaining Greatness! Rampage
Time flew, and in the blink of an eye, a month had passed. During this time, Isaac hadn’t spent all his days in the Underground Palace observing the Fighting God. He had also ventured out to cast a spell on Mephisto and the Mother Goddess, helping them control their rampaging Divinity.
This was especially true for the Mother Goddess. By the time Isaac saw her, she was on the verge of being completely dominated by her Divinity. The speed of the Erosion was far faster than he had anticipated!
Fortunately, his experiments had been a great success. With the Fighting God serving as a high-quality test subject—constantly flip-flopping between states—the optimization of his Divine Self magic had proceeded smoothly. It was now nearly perfect at suppressing Divinity.
Isaac’s next research goal was to turn it into a Divine Art. That way, it would be much easier for Mephisto and the others to learn, allowing them to maintain control of themselves even after he was gone.
He wasn’t sure if it was just an illusion, but Isaac got the distinct impression that the Mother Goddess was a bit disappointed after her Divinity had been suppressed.
In the Underground Palace, Isaac watched the Fighting God wander the desert, slaughtering Demons with blood-red eyes. He shook his head, pushing aside the stray thoughts and refocusing on his subject.
’I have to admit, this guy really is a high-quality test subject. Or perhaps, Virtual Deities in general are high-quality test subjects.’
Normally, any person—or any sentient being with self-awareness, for that matter—would eventually break down under such mental torture, becoming a walking corpse or falling into a vegetative state.
But the Fighting God hadn’t. Though his consciousness had been tortured to the brink of insanity, whenever his Divinity took over, the impurities in his mind were purged, and his thoughts became singular. On the other hand, when his Human Nature held sway, a distinct sense of vitality became apparent.
Although he became more frenzied in his state of Human Nature, it gave him a vibrant, ’alive’ feeling. It was fascinating!
This was also why he kept the Fighting God around. Even though he no longer needed him for further research on the Divine Self, Isaac was curious to see what would become of the deity if this continued.
’Deities, beings at the very apex of life... how many more of their secrets were waiting to be unearthed?’
And so, Isaac once again immersed himself in his experiments. This time, aside from occasionally tweaking the Fighting God’s state, his primary focus was the Divine Artifact for Elf Bow Trist!
The materials for the New Divine Spirit Book were being gathered, so it was time to move forward with this project. Even with the Divine Spirit Book, Virtual Deities would remain a crucial part of Isaac’s combat strength, so it was only natural to find ways to enhance their power.
It was worth noting that his plan to enhance them by fusing them with new Divine Authorities, as he had done with the Fighting God, had been scrapped. That particular power boost had come at the cost of disintegrating the Concept of the Eternal. In other words, the Fighting God had already lost his eternal life and was now rapidly approaching his end!
Therefore, to increase the power of his Virtual Deities, he had to return to the method used by the Master of Blood: forging a Divine Artifact that was perfectly aligned with their Divine Authority and capable of continuous growth.
This way, as the Divine Artifact grew stronger, its master would grow stronger with it!
Isaac had considered this when he created Trist, which was why he gave her the seemingly useless Elf Divine Power.
The Divine Artifact Trist was to forge was a bow. Its core would be her Hunting Divine Authority, but it would be fueled by her Elf Divine Power—and that Divine Power was the key.
In Isaac’s design, the artifact’s power would increase with the number of Elves it Commanded or the number of Elf Souls it absorbed!
The latter was particularly significant, as it would give Isaac’s Soul Mirror a new purpose.
Growing stronger by absorbing the souls of Elves might not sound like something a Racial God would do, but it was actually quite common. The logic was simple: ’I protect you in life, so now that you’re dead, why not burn the rest of your essence for the good of the race?’
After all, there were far too many Racial Gods, and not everyone would have Faith in a particular one. Only devout Believers who had Faith in a specific Deity were qualified to enter that Deity’s Divine Kingdom and continue to exist as Prayer Warriors, providing them with a steady stream of the Power of Faith.
The world of the Extraordinary was a cruel one indeed...
...
「Three years later...」
Isaac stood high above the bustling Underground Palace City, his gaze calm as he watched the Sects swarming in from all directions across the Wilderness. Five Divine Shadows flickered behind him. In his left hand, he held a book that seemed carved from white jade. A malevolent Demon Claw hovered behind his head, flexing its talons. The eye in its palm had grown even more sinister, radiating immense waves of Divine Power!
Over the past three years, Isaac’s various experiments had yielded impressive results. After several rounds of optimization, the Divine Spirit Book in his hand was now a Hundred Gods Book, fused from ten separate Ten Divine Books.
Isaac had originally intended to go straight for the Thousand Gods Book and then gradually upgrade it to the Ten Thousand Gods Scripture. Unfortunately, the sheer volume of materials required was astronomical—so much so that he couldn’t gather everything, even when using the techniques of a Legendary Mage to distort the Concept of matter and create substitutes.
Thus, Isaac had to settle for the next best thing: fusing his Ten Divine Books into a Hundred Gods Book for the time being.
His other experiments had followed a similar pattern. While they hadn’t achieved the perfect results he’d envisioned, they still bore fruit. For instance, with his Divine Servant Demons, he couldn’t Command ten at once but had reached a ceiling of five. And while the growing Divine Artifacts couldn’t help the Virtual Deities break through to the next Tier, the accumulated Divine Power had significantly boosted their combat strength.
According to Isaac’s calculations, they should ultimately be able to unleash the combat power of a Tier Five being!
Unfortunately, the time required to accumulate sufficient Divine Power was too long; otherwise, Isaac would have attempted to conquer the Underground Palace again.
Furthermore, Isaac had successfully developed a method to safely remove a Virtual Divinity. The sinister eye in Harmon’s palm was the product of this research, created by fusing him with the Evil Eye.
This breakthrough successfully connected the various techniques Isaac had developed since arriving at the Endless Tower, and the synergistic payoff was explosive!
Now, even if Isaac failed to complete the Endless Tower’s Trial, the trip would not have been for nothing.
However... just as his time in the Endless Tower was drawing to a close, the unexpected occurred.
A Grand Arcanist from the Truth Association had discovered a way to control the unique factor within this world’s humans that suppressed Extraordinary Power!
By harnessing this factor, he successfully created an entirely new Extraordinary Profession: the Law-Breaking Swordsman!
Isaac didn’t understand the specific principles behind it, but the Law-Breaking Swordsman was without a doubt an incredibly powerful Extraordinary Profession. From its very inception, it possessed a power ceiling as high as Tier Four!
This was astounding. Back in the Real World, the vast majority of Extraordinary Professions could only reach Tier Three, with many unable to even get that far!
To date, the only professions capable of surpassing Tier Three were Wizard, Witch, and Knight!
In other words, this man had made history!
’This man... he’s forging his own path to greatness!’
However, it seemed he had failed. His actions triggered a backlash from the world of the Wilderness Dungeon itself. The gates to every dungeon across the Wilderness flew open, and the ranks of the Sects swelled explosively.
They began an indiscriminate slaughter, targeting every human in the Wilderness!
"Looks like I have to make a trip after all..." Isaac’s eyes narrowed as he watched the humans awakening as Law-Breaking Swordsmen in the heat of battle. He glanced down at the Magic Invitation in his right hand.
