Chapter 345: Chapter 251: Return

Watching the Floating Island collapse, an irrepressible smile spread across Isaac’s face. After all, this meant their mission was now considered complete. The requirements weren’t high—they only needed to destroy one. Anything else they destroyed was purely a bonus reward!

The base reward alone was enough to satisfy a High-level Mage from a minor background like him. As for the Tier Four Miracle Mages...

Well, he couldn’t see the mission rewards for the Miracle Mages, but he figured they were probably similar.

So now, every extra second they endured meant greater profits!

Yes, endure!

Although Isaac and his group seemed to have the absolute advantage, the Chaotic Sky Sea was a crucial strategic point for both sides. This was evident from the forces each side had deployed: the attackers had two Miracle Mages, three Elite High-level Wizards, and several Elite Strong High-level Knight followers, while the defenders possessed a Mechanical Body defense system that was a veritable prison.

Even so, the enemy had still dispatched two Tier Four Miracle Mages and multiple High-level Mages to stand guard, showing just how seriously they took it.

The reason their attack had gone so smoothly was largely due to Isaac’s dealings with the Outer God. Had it been anyone else, even a Miracle Mage, they might not have been able to dispose of so many Mechanical Bodies so quickly.

Therefore, as soon as Isaac and his group began their assault, a signal for help had already reached the Mechanical God Sect’s rear, and their highly mobile Miracle Mages had set out in response!

The Mechanical God Sect’s reinforcements might even include multiple Miracle Mages!

On the other hand, since they were the attackers, their mission was simply to cause destruction—a hit-and-run operation. They didn’t need to capture and hold the territory. As such, they had no reinforcements behind them. If they didn’t retreat in time, they’d be toast.

Especially those among them who weren’t even Tier Four!

So, while fighting with vigor, both Isaac and the others were preparing to flee at a moment’s notice. The second something felt off, they would not hesitate.

Take Isaac, for example. Although he appeared to be giving it his all—and in truth, he was—he had actually remained on the periphery of the battlefield from start to finish. The main forces wreaking havoc were the Great Sword Ghosts and the Rat Tide, while he himself had long since prepared his escape Magic.

Although the others weren’t as composed as him, they too had their respective escape methods ready at hand. They were just waiting for the retreat order from their Tier Four Mages or the Sect’s main battlefield headquarters to pull back at a moment’s notice!

However, Isaac and his group didn’t have to wait long before the retreat order came from the Tier Four Miracle Mages. Even though it wasn’t the mission’s scheduled retreat time, Isaac had already destroyed one Floating Island and had almost completely dismantled the area’s defensive facilities.

The Mechanical God Sect would now inevitably have to devote more energy to defending this area, which would, in turn, greatly alleviate the pressure on the Flesh Sect on other battlefronts. As such, they had already exceeded their mission objectives.

Upon receiving the retreat order from the Tier Four Mage, a glint flashed in Isaac’s eyes. Streams of electromagnetic light flared around his body, and he instantly transformed into an electromagnetic wave and vanished.

But he wasn’t solely focused on running. As he fled, he did two things. First, he ordered the Rat Tide and the Great Sword Ghost Legion to abandon their demolition tasks and instead support the other High-level Mages, creating an opportunity for them to withdraw.

That was the first. Second, a stream of electromagnetic light shot into the battlefield. It enveloped Phoenix—who was fighting with an excited expression, his body glittering with golden light like the Sun—and swiftly carried him from the battlefield as an electromagnetic wave.

Isaac had brought him here, so naturally, he had to take him when he left.

"We’re leaving. This is a parting gift." The Black-robed Mage gave a wicked smile. A black sphere materialized in his right hand, and with a casual toss, he and the Green-robed Mage transformed into streaks of light and vanished from the battlefield.

The Miracle Mages of the Mechanical God Sect were about to give chase, but the terrifying fluctuations erupting from the black sphere made their expressions change drastically. They instantly abandoned the pursuit and joined forces, unleashing their Magic Power to contain the black sphere, which was releasing terrifying and chaotic Magic Power of its own.

Their expressions were extremely grim, not only because of the immense losses they had just suffered, but also because it seemed... they couldn’t control this thing!

’Damn it, don’t tell me this fucking thing is what the Flesh Sect was *really* using to complete its mission?’

"Forget them! Help me control this thing!" one of the Mechanical God Sect’s Miracle Mages yelled, continuously channeling his Magic Power while scolding the High-level Mages who were preparing to pursue the attackers.

There was no longer any chance of stopping them, and even if there were, it wouldn’t do much good. The massive losses they had suffered couldn’t be offset just by capturing a few of the assailants.

Compared to capturing a few attackers, containing the black sphere to prevent further losses was far more important.

The other High-level Mages hesitated for only a moment before changing direction and flying to the Miracle Mages’ side. They sent out their own strange fluctuations of Magic Power to wrap around the black sphere, joining the effort to contain it.

...

「A few days later」

After retreating separately from the Chaotic Sky Sea, Isaac and the others gradually regrouped inside a spatial rift that had been carved out in the Deep Sea to check on one another.

Of course, the main purpose was for the two Tier Four Mages to check if their counterparts from the Mechanical God Sect had left any hidden marks on them, especially on the High-level Knight followers they had brought along, like Phoenix.

Otherwise, returning directly to the Sect’s main headquarters would be far too risky.

However...

"What’s wrong? Is there a problem with me?" Isaac frowned as he entered the secret base, toying with the power he had picked up from the Deep Sea Corrosion. He scanned himself with a suspicious gaze.

Although his Electromagnetic Flow was fast, he was an exceptionally cautious person. Not only did he take a detour, but he even brought Phoenix back to his own Dimension World to thoroughly erase any traces they might have left. Consequently, by the time he got here, everyone else had already arrived.

So, he completely understood why everyone was looking in their direction. It was normal.

But... ’Even if they’re going to stare, shouldn’t they be staring at Phoenix, that Knight Barbarian? Why look at a Wizard like me? I’m a Mad Witch; what Wizard would dare try to plant a trace on me?’

’Would you touch a stick covered in shit?’

’It’s a bit strange to describe myself like that, but it’s true.’

That’s why Isaac was so puzzled that everyone was staring at him the moment he entered. ’How could there possibly be a problem with *me*?’

Hearing this, the others took one last glance at the unsettling Outer God Power in Isaac’s hand before finally averting their gazes.

Their silence said it all.
