Wizard: Scamming a Demon God
Chapter 346 - 252: Return—The Lonely Mad Witch
Chapter 346: Chapter 252: Return—The Lonely Mad Witch
Noticing everyone’s gazes, Isaac raised an eyebrow. He instantly understood what they were looking at, and with a flick of his right hand, he dispersed the Evil God Power he was holding.
It was his greatest gain from this mission, aside from the official reward.
The main reason it ranked below the official reward was that the Deep Sea Corrosion’s own Authority Domain was not highly compatible with Isaac’s power system. Thus, while the gains from the ritual were substantial, they truly couldn’t compare to the mission reward from the Sect.
As such, he simply tossed the power he had acquired from the Deep Sea Corrosion into his Dimension World, using it as fodder for its growth.
By now, as Isaac’s understanding of the Path of Wizardry deepened, his perspective on the Dimension World had gradually changed. He once considered the Dimension World his core strength, with the ultimate goal of becoming a Dimensional Demon God. That was his grand vision.
After all, for him, it represented an incredibly smooth path to Becoming a God!
But now, Isaac had come to look down on this path.
Or rather, he had more options now, if he wanted to pursue Becoming a God.
Moreover, after his promotion to a High-level Mage, the issue of the Anchor Point had become more prominent. He could no longer absorb the power of Outer Gods as recklessly as before. But, obviously, getting him to turn off the "auto-loot" was out of the question.
’So, is there a way to keep looting the power of Outer Gods without affecting my own Anchor Point?’
’Oh yes, my friend. There is.’
’It’s simple to wield the power of Outer Gods without it affecting your Anchor Point. You just have to be able to use the power without truly possessing it. In other words—stuff it into the Dimension World!’
It might not sound very pleasant, but that was the reality. For Isaac, the Dimension World had effectively become his personal garbage dump. He could just toss any undesirable things he picked up right in there.
Take the powers obtained from the Deep Sea Corrosion this time, for example: Corrosion and Erosion.
These were the two core Authorities of the Deep Sea Corrosion. Aside from Isaac himself not having much use for them, the main reason for integrating them into the Dimension World was their exceptionally high compatibility with it.
Just as Isaac had expected, after integrating these two Authorities, the Dimension World saw a massive upgrade. Although its fundamental essence hadn’t increased by much, its strength in various other aspects had improved significantly.
Most importantly, while the original Dimension World already possessed many characteristics of a true dimension, it was still a long way from Nurturing its own Authority. Even with rituals like the one from the Itra Kingdom transaction, it would have taken at least three to five more before the Dimension World could have possibly developed an Authority on its own.
But things were different now. When Isaac integrated the two Authorities he had looted from the Deep Sea Corrosion, the Dimension World skipped several stages of growth, becoming a Dimension World that possessed its own Authorities!
Besides improvements to basic attributes like stability and Magic Power intensity, the most important change was that as the master of the Dimension World, Isaac could not only wield these two Authorities as effortlessly as his own limbs, but he could even bestow them upon his Dimension Apostles, and even life forms outside the Dimension!
Of course, the requirements for bestowing them upon life forms outside the Dimension World were quite steep. For one, any being granted these two Authorities by Isaac would instantly become a dimensional life form!
A dimensional life form, not a Dimension Apostle. The two are not the same. A Dimension Apostle is a dimensional life form, but a dimensional life form cannot necessarily become a Dimension Apostle. The greatest difference between them is that dimensional life forms have a much harder time leaving the Dimension World and face more restrictions when operating in the Real World.
Secondly, this kind of bestowal required an immense amount of Magic Power—and it could not come from the Dimension World. The amount was so vast that Isaac could not provide it on his own.
It was so immense that powering it with a Mage Tower’s Magic Pool would require the pool to accumulate energy for an entire year!
Of course, while the cost was high, the return was equally substantial. An Authority bestowed in this manner would have a strength comparable to that of a normal Tier Three Authority. In other words, as long as he could shore up their other weaknesses, Isaac would have the ability to mass-produce Tier Three combatants!
This was the allure of dealing with Outer Gods!
High risk, but also high reward!
The Tier Four Black-robed Mage gave Isaac a deep look before averting his gaze. Even though Isaac was one of them, he didn’t want too much contact with him. ’This man... he’s covered in shit.’
"No issues. Let’s go back." A faint light flickered in the Black-robed Mage’s eyes. After confirming that no sinister marks had been left on anyone, he gave a slight nod. Wisps of black mist drifted from his body, weaving into a black vortex behind him.
Compared to their cautious approach on the way here, they could be a bit more brazen on the way back and use Space Teleportation directly.
Of course, teleporting directly into the main camp in the warzone wasn’t reliable, but teleporting to its outskirts—to the safe zone designated by the Sect—was perfectly fine.
Led by the Black-robed Mage and the Green-robed Mage, everyone stepped into the vortex of black mist. In the blink of an eye, they found themselves next to the main camp.
"Dismissed." Once everyone had emerged from the vortex, the Black-robed Mage dissipated it, uttered that one cold word, and flew straight away.
The Green-robed Mage and the other High-level Mages followed right after them, leaving Isaac scratching his head. ’This is... not what people said would happen.’
’Aren’t the Miracle Mages supposed to organize a gathering after the mission to discuss academic matters?’
That was one of the reasons why High-level Mages like him had risked joining this mission in the first place. After all, it wasn’t every day you got to meet a Miracle Mage.
’So why did they just leave?’
Just as Isaac was pondering this, he caught a glimpse of Phoenix out of the corner of his eye, furtively trying to sidle away.
"What’s with you? So sneaky. Be careful the Law Enforcement Team’s Demons don’t snatch you up."
"Ahahaha..." Phoenix laughed awkwardly, scratching the back of his head. "Me, afraid of you? How could that be? Ahaha... ha..."
Isaac: "..."
Phoenix instinctively averted his gaze. "...My wife’s about to give birth."
Isaac was silent for a moment, then suddenly broke into a relaxed smile and waved him off. "Then hurry up and go. Family is more important."
Phoenix looked at Isaac and opened his mouth as if to say something, but in the end, he just nodded, transforming into a scorching streak of light and vanishing. 𝘧𝓇ℯℴ𝓂
At the end of the day, he and Isaac weren’t that close. What little camaraderie they had was... worthless in the face of a Mad Witch.
Previously, Phoenix had thought the stories about the Mad Witch were just that—stories. But after truly witnessing Isaac’s insane side, he realized how naive he’d been. Everything he had been through before? It was all bullshit in front of a real Mad Witch!
Didn’t you see? Even a Tier Four Miracle Mage couldn’t get away from him fast enough.
Watching Phoenix’s retreating figure, Isaac stood alone and let out a long sigh. A pitch-black fissure tore open behind him and swallowed him whole.
’The world outside... it’s really quite boring...’
