Chapter 332: Chapter 241: Flesh Is Weak, Mechanical Ascension?

After deciding on the organization’s name, Isaac placed it into a Magic Envelope. With a wave of his hand, he drew a Magic Symbol and then sent it to the Truth Association via a Micro Teleportation Array. Once they held a ceremony similar to the one for registering High-level Mages, the name would officially belong to their organization.

They could start using it now, though it wouldn’t have any special bonuses.

Of course, that little bonus...

To be honest, it was better than nothing.

At least, for now, it was better than nothing. That was why many Wizard Organizations weren’t as cautious as Isaac when choosing a name; they basically used whatever came to mind. After all, not every organization was destined to grow strong and endure through the ages.

Isaac, however, had that confidence, which was why he’d spent a bit of effort on the selection.

But it was only a bit of effort. He had quite a few research projects on his hands at the moment and lacked the desire or energy to start another major one for the time being.

After choosing the organization’s name, Isaac’s business in his territory was mostly concluded. Relocating was a tedious affair, but Lorna and the others were already handling it. Although the distance was great, it was manageable with the Dimension Apostles on hand.

The only part of this matter Isaac was responsible for was the final relocation of his Mage Tower. That was the very last step, and it was still a long way off.

By now, Isaac had built a considerable foundation. He was long past the days when he could pack all his worldly possessions into a few carriages.

However, this didn’t mean he could relax. His business in the territory was done, but there were still matters concerning the Sect.

As mentioned before, the Endless Sea had passed through a brief period of calm. Now, the battles between the various factions there had reached a fever pitch; it was an all-out, brutal brawl.

The Flesh Sect was no exception.

It had even reached the point where mandatory missions were being issued to High-level Mages!

After all, while the Flesh Sect was powerful, it wasn’t invincible. It naturally had enemies—ideological ones, at that: the Mechanical Sect!

Also known as the Mechanical God Sect.

Although it was called a Divine Sect, it actually had no connection to the Church whatsoever. It was a pure Wizard Organization—purer than the Flesh Sect, even. This was because the Flesh Sect kept a captive Demon God, and thus still had some connection to Deities.

The Mechanical God Sect, however, truly had no connection to Deities. If any existed, it was purely that of a hunter and its prey!

The reason it was called a Divine Sect was that its members held an almost fanatical Faith in their Sect’s ideology: "Flesh is weak; ascension is mechanical!"

Yes, they were that extreme, believing that Mechanical Bodies were the future path for Wizards!

In this regard, the Flesh Sect was far more moderate.

While the Sect had its own extremists—those who believed Flesh Magic was the noblest form of Magic, the one that best embodied the mystery and terror of a Wizard—the overall environment was actually quite open-minded.

It allowed various ideologies to coexist, merely providing special support to Wizards who researched Flesh Magic. Nor did it antagonize other Wizard Sects as a result.

After all, the Flesh Sect had ancient origins. Its founders simply saw the flesh and blood of Demons as a convenient casting material and believed the path held great promise.

The Mechanical God Sect, however, was different. Its members were like a Deity’s fanatical Believers, regarding any Wizard with a conflicting ideology as a heretic. Getting into a fight on sight was considered getting off easy; things often turned lethal!

As a result, they had far more enemies.

Of course, for them to have developed and thrived under such circumstances, the strength of the Mechanical God Sect went without saying.

Driven by their extreme fanaticism, the Wizards of the Mechanical God Sect possessed an unprecedented passion for research. This, coupled with the recent rise of the Truth Society, spurred the rapid development of Alchemy—especially in the fields of Golems and Mechanical Bodies. As a result, their strength received another massive boost.

Of course, while the Truth Association boosted the Mechanical God Sect’s strength, it also somewhat tempered their fanatical ideology. At least now, they no longer resorted to lethal force against Wizards of other factions at the drop of a hat.

The Flesh Sect, of course, was an exception.

They were the Flesh Sect’s primary enemy in the Endless Sea.

Among the missions assigned to Isaac this time, three were targeted against the Mechanical God Sect.

Gazing at the mission list in his hand, Isaac’s eyes glinted. He accepted a mission to clear out an island occupied by the Mechanical God Sect. For one, he excelled at combat, and combat missions were the simplest. All he had to do was charge in, kill everyone, and then tear open the Magic Scroll the Sect had provided to collect all the island’s resources in one fell swoop, without restraint.

And the mission would be complete.

Simple, brutal, and mindless. It didn’t even require him to learn any special Magic.

On the other hand, Isaac himself was quite interested in the Wizards of the Mechanical God Sect.

’Flesh is weak; ascension is mechanical.’

’It was a popular trope in the novels of my past life. I have to admit, this school of thought is certainly powerful. It’s heavily reliant on the greater environment—the more advanced the technology, the easier it is to increase one’s strength. My own Demonic Puppet Legion is a perfect example.’

’But then again, while mechanical modification is certainly powerful, it also means sacrificing countless possibilities. In my opinion, fanatically and obsessively pursuing such modifications is not the true path for a Wizard.’
