Wizard: Scamming a Demon God
Chapter 319 - 234: New Companion — Soron Demon Eye
Chapter 319: Chapter 234: New Companion — Soron Demon Eye
However, its identity as a Dimension Apostle also meant the Real World’s rejection of it was comparable to that of a Mad Witch!
Despite being merely an Official Wizard, the rejection it faced was not much less than that of Isaac, who was a Mad Witch and had already advanced to a High-level Mage. This fellow...
For a prospective Legendary Wizard, this was an absolutely disastrous start!
Of course, considering its original identity as a goblin, this was nothing to complain about.
Besides, it was a Wizard now—and a Wizard with a great spirit for and aptitude in research, at that.
And a Wizard’s potential is nearly infinite!
As long as it mastered enough Knowledge, its identity as a Dimension Apostle might only bring benefits!
Of course, that was just a possibility. Whether or not it could actually realize the near-infinite potential of a Wizard was still up to it.
But before that, Isaac didn’t mind giving this hardworking little fellow a reward. Isaac looked at the excited yet terrified Three-eyed Goblin within the Magic Shield, smiled, and with a light wave of his hand, he and the goblin transformed into a stream of azure Magic Power, shooting toward the border of the Pioneer Territory—where Smith and the others were located.
A short while later, Isaac arrived before Smith and the others with the Three-eyed Goblin in tow. When they saw Isaac return unharmed, the weight on their hearts lifted, but then they saw the strange, Caster-like monster of black mist that Isaac was dangling before them.
At first, they were stunned with confusion. Then, their eyes slowly widened as they stared in disbelief at the dark green Demon Eye floating within the black mist that formed the Wizard’s head.
’This Demon Eye...’
’This fellow couldn’t possibly be...’
Seeing their eyes grow wider, Isaac nodded in satisfaction and said cheerfully, "That’s right, it’s just as you’re thinking. This fellow is the same Three-eyed Goblin from before. It has now shed its goblin identity and become a true Wizard—a Legendary Wizard with immense potential!"
Hearing this, although they had already suspected as much, they still stared dumbfounded at the Three-eyed Goblin dangling from Isaac’s hand when he confirmed it.
’A mere goblin can actually become a Wizard?’
’You’ve got to be kidding me!’
’And it even has Lord Isaac’s approval, who said it has immense potential on the path to becoming a Legendary Wizard?’
’Is this thing really a goblin?’
Isaac was very pleased with their shock. He hadn’t exaggerated his assessment of the Three-eyed Goblin in the slightest. As a prospective Legendary Wizard, the Three-eyed Goblin was indeed outstanding!
Besides the unnatural immortality granted by its status as a Dimension Apostle and its innate aptitude for research, the most important factor was that the path of a Legendary Wizard was, in essence, a process of slowly transforming oneself from a mortal into a Magical Creature—or even a High-level Magical Creature.
That was why the Grand Wizard stage required so many surgical modifications.
That’s why many aspiring Legendary Wizards were trapped at the Grand Wizard stage for their entire lives. For one, the surgeries themselves were difficult. For another, the surgeries alone were not enough; they had to be followed by rituals with harsh conditions. Finally, one had to completely fuse all these modified parts together to metamorphose into a new High-level Magical Creature.
And this was where the Three-eyed Goblin had an advantage. It had already completed this step during its time as an Official Wizard!
Its current form was that of a High-level Magical Creature, just with a lower quantity and quality of Magic Power!
In other words, on the Three-eyed Goblin’s path to becoming a High-level Mage, only two hurdles remained. The first was completing the numerous, increasingly demanding rituals to increase the reserves and quality of its Magic Power. The second was the issue of its own Anchor Point.
The latter was especially critical. The former was troublesome, but as a Dimension Apostle, it could use Isaac’s Dimension to travel anywhere in the world. So, even if it couldn’t substitute Outer God Ceremonies for advancement rituals like Isaac, the process wouldn’t be too complicated.
The Anchor Point, however, was the biggest problem of all.
But compared to other prospective Legendary Wizards, the Three-eyed Goblin was already far ahead!
So...
"So, I’m prepared to grant this fellow special permission to become one of you!" As he spoke, Isaac smiled at the dumbfounded Three-eyed Goblin. "At the same time, I will officially bestow a name upon you. From this day forward, you shall be called Soron. Soron Demon Eye! What do you say?"
The Three-eyed Goblin—or rather, Soron Demon Eye!—was completely stunned by this enormous surprise. It had never imagined that such a wonderful thing could happen so suddenly!
It swayed dizzily in the air, completely stupefied, and for a moment, it forgot to answer.
However, Isaac and the others didn’t rush it, merely watching it with smiles on their faces.
They understood Soron. After all, they had all witnessed its tireless efforts. They were more than happy to welcome this new comrade. The only reason it hadn’t been allowed to join the team before was because it was just so grotesquely ugly!
The kind of ugly that bordered on abstract.
Although Soron’s current look was still very strange, at least it wasn’t ugly. In fact, it was even a little bit cool!
Its looks were definitely good enough to join the team now. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂
So, they were all willing to give Soron a little patience.
Fortunately, Soron didn’t keep Isaac waiting long. It quickly came to its senses, knelt on the ground, and prostrated itself fully. In a voice still new to speaking, it said, "Thank you for your grace, Your Eminence! Soron will not fail to live up to this gift!"
The instant Soron accepted Isaac’s gift, a flash of magical light enveloped its body. Soron looked up at Isaac in astonishment. In that moment, its connection to the world had suddenly strengthened!
’It was a Dimension Apostle, for crying out loud!’
It had next to no connection with the Real World. The only reason it could even exist here was because its own power was pathetically weak, and Isaac’s Dimension wasn’t strong enough either, which meant the Real World’s repulsive force was correspondingly weaker.
But now, it could clearly feel not only a connection to the Real World, but a much stronger one at that!
Without a doubt, this was the work of the great His Eminence!
Soron said nothing more, merely lowering its body once again into a full prostration to express its gratitude.
In the Wizarding World, due to the unique nature of the path to becoming a Legendary Wizard, it was not uncommon for a Servant Demon to become one. Naturally, many kinds of Magic had been developed to strengthen the Anchor Points of these Servant Demon Mages.
Since he kept quite a few Servant Demons, Isaac had casually learned several of these spells when he first encountered them. He had originally intended them for Shushu, but unexpectedly, while that fellow did indeed get into research, it had nothing to do with the path of a Wizard. His subsequent Servant Demons also followed their own unique paths.
So it wasn’t until now that he had a chance to use this Magic: Bestowal of a Name.
The essence of this Magic wasn’t to bestow or create an Anchor Point, but to share one. Magic that could create Anchor Points was still beyond Isaac’s reach. After all, the matter of Anchor Points was a problem that vexed even Tier Four Miracle Mages, not to mention Tier Five Legendary Wizards.
Isaac even suspected that the Great Wizards’ desire to reshape the Real World was very likely a means to strengthen their own Anchor Points!
Thus, the essence of the "Bestowal of a Name" Magic was simply to allow Soron to share an Anchor Point with Isaac.
This Magic could only be used on one’s own Servant Demons.
After bestowing the name upon Soron, Isaac turned to Smith and the others. After a moment of contemplation, he issued his orders. "Silver Knight, you will lead the Demonic Puppet Legion and set up a temporary station here. You are responsible for scouting the surrounding Wilderness and carving out a territory rich in mineral veins. No other construction is necessary; focus solely on mining ore. Also..."
"Yes, Your Eminence!" The Silver Knight nodded grimly upon receiving Isaac’s command.
"Everyone else, back to your regular duties."
"Yes, sir!" they chorused.
After everyone acknowledged the order, a massive, dark fissure appeared behind Isaac. The group flew into it as one. A moment later, only the Silver Knight and the five-thousand-strong Demonic Puppet Legion remained.
BEEP BEEP BEEP~~~
After watching Isaac and the others depart, a magical light flickered within the Silver Knight’s helmet. The Demonic Puppet Legion behind him instantly dispersed as the exploration modules on their bodies activated, beginning to scout the Wilderness with extreme efficiency.
In a way, the Demonic Puppet Legion could be considered the strongest, most versatile army in this world!
That was why Isaac had assembled it, even though its maintenance costs were rather high.
