Chapter 294: Chapter 222: A Visit from Great Arcanist Mensa
Two months passed quickly, and the day to register the research group finally arrived. Isaac looked at the pile of draft papers before him, his brow furrowed slightly. In those two months, with the help of his [Analysis] Authority, Isaac had completed the construction of sixteen Transformation Magics.
To Wizards of other transformation-focused factions, this might have seemed like an outrageous number, but for Isaac...
...it was a source of considerable frustration, even though three of those sixteen transformations were into High-level Creatures.
Because among those sixteen transformations, only one could integrate the traits of other transformations, and the degree of integration wasn’t even very high...
Though it was far from perfect, Isaac set it aside to learn first. His current research had hit a wall; he needed not only more inspiration, but also more data.
This data included more than just the physical structures of Magical Creatures; he also needed to walk the ultimate path of All Spirits to collect data on integrated transformations.
There was no rush for that, however. He set aside the Transformation Magic that would serve as the foundation and had Liu Li prepare the necessary materials. Then, with a flare of Magic Power, Isaac teleported to the top floor.
After a simple setup, crimson lightning of Magic Power appeared from thin air, opening a pitch-black rift in the middle of the crude ritual. Behind the rift lay the Dimension of the Flesh Sect.
Isaac straightened his Wizard Robe, put on its hood, and stepped through.
After passing through the rift, Isaac found himself in a vast plaza. He got his bearings, casually summoned a pumpkin carriage, and sped off in the direction of the location for research group applications.
Before long, Isaac met the people he had gathered. They were waiting at the entrance to the High Tower, sizing one another up while they waited for him. Their eyes held a hint of surprise, just as Isaac’s had.
Apparently, they also hadn’t expected to find others in the Sect as audacious as they were—people who dared to research the power of the Divine Domain.
Wizards have always been an extremely confident bunch, and this was especially true for those who had reached the rank of High-level Mage.
Therefore, in their minds, their own plans carried the lowest risk, while everyone else’s were fraught with danger...
Often, this perception was subconscious. They might know it wasn’t logical, but the thought would arise nonetheless.
But in truth, this was perhaps one of the reasons they had managed to come so far.
After all, the same was true for a Mad Witch. If you lacked confidence, you would never dare to trade with an Outer God.
Of course, the most surprising person of all was Isaac. Gathering them together was no easy feat, and it served as a testament to his capabilities.
So when Isaac approached, they all turned to look at him with smiles on their faces.
"You’re all here early?" Isaac said, handing each of them a document. It was none other than his research proposal on how to steal the Divine Power of the God of Credit.
Though confused, the mages returned Isaac’s greeting and opened the documents he’d given them. They began to read intently. A moment later, they looked up in astonishment and exchanged glances.
Although they lacked Isaac’s [Analysis] Authority, their learning abilities as High-level Mages were nothing to scoff at. The document Isaac had given them wasn’t thick, so they grasped its contents quickly.
They were astounded by Isaac’s plan—not because its feasibility was low, but because it was alarmingly high!
At least on the surface, the feasibility was remarkably high!
Moreover, the level of safety was also exceptionally high.
Even...
As much as they hated to admit it, this plan was even more feasible than their own!
At first, they had assumed Isaac’s plan would follow the same old playbook as the Mad Witches, but now...
’It seems... like a perfectly normal research proposal?’
From their perspective, at least, if one just edited out words like "steal" or "pilfer," it would look like a perfectly normal research project.
Most importantly, Isaac had given the plan its greatest insurance policy: the results would be shared with all High-level Mages!
This was the crucial point. Even if the God of Credit found out later, there would be nothing He could do to Isaac. On the contrary, He would even have to bestow upon Isaac the grace of a Divine Selection!
This was because the results of Isaac’s research would enable High-level Mages to use the God’s Divine Power more frequently. Even if their use wasn’t entirely voluntary, it would still objectively enhance His strength. As a True God, no matter what, as long as the High-level Mages adhered to the rules, He was guaranteed to benefit.
It would make Him more powerful—although in the eyes of Wizards, this kind of power was somewhat illusory...
But that didn’t matter. In the eyes of many Wizards, the God of Credit wasn’t much different from a dog anyway—though few would dare to say so out loud...
After their brief astonishment, a consensus quickly formed among the group, who had only just met: they had struck gold!
Meanwhile, Isaac had entered the High Tower and submitted his application. The approval was granted swiftly.
Of course, along with the approval, they had also slightly modified Isaac’s project application, removing some of the... less-than-tactful vocabulary.
This made the document far more formal. At least now, when it was handed to the Believers of the God of Credit, they wouldn’t perceive the research as an offense against their Deity!
Isaac left the High Tower with the documents, his steps light. Although he had fully expected this outcome, a great weight was still lifted from his heart now that it was truly settled.
