Wizard: Scamming a Demon God
Chapter 289 - 219: The Mi Family’s Deity
Chapter 289: Chapter 219: The Mi Family’s Deity
After some consideration, Isaac laid out the gist of his plan. Of course, he omitted the part about his Golden Finger and heavily emphasized the section about befriending Deities.
Sure enough, after hearing Isaac’s plan, Evans was still shocked but found himself able to accept at least some of it. He particularly approved of the part about befriending the Deities; that seemed far more plausible than controlling them.
So, after a moment of thought, Evans nodded, reluctantly extended his right hand, and shook Isaac’s.
Isaac broke into a satisfied smile at the sight. But as Evans looked at that smile, the little bit of confidence that had just begun to swell within him suddenly evaporated...
’Did I just... seem to... probably... possibly... fall into a giant pit?’
Evans’s mouth twitched. But it was too late now; there was no turning back. And if he were honest with himself, Isaac’s plan was actually highly feasible—both for saving the Norwegian people and for the God Creation.
’At least, it sounds that way...’
After they exchanged a smile, Isaac sat back down. He first put away the Magic Book from Evans, then a strange and Profound glimmer of Magic Power flashed, and another Magic Book materialized in his hand.
Isaac handed the Magic Book to Evans, smiling. "A small gift. It should be helpful to your cause."
Evans blinked, not yet having fully recovered his composure. He took the Magic Book, casually flipped it open, and the emotions that had just begun to settle churned back into excitement!
"What... is this?! Magic absolutely can’t achieve something of this level, can it?" Evans stared at the Magic Book, his eyes wide.
Isaac smiled faintly. Mere Magic, by itself, certainly couldn’t achieve this. This was the first major score he’d gotten from the Master of Billions of Flesh.
That’s right. What Isaac had given Evans was the Flesh Nest, a spell optimized by the Master of Billions of Flesh during Isaac’s first ritual to trade with an Outer God. The Magic was incredibly sinister, and powerful!
This was because its magical foundation came from Isaac’s own Talent Magic, which itself originated from the power of a Demon. The resulting Flesh Nest, therefore, was not merely simple Magic Power—it had been personally crafted by the Dimensional Demon God, the Master of Billions of Flesh.
So, to be precise, it wasn’t that the Magic Domain was incapable of producing something on the level of the Flesh Nest, but rather that a mere Tier Two Magic Domain could never possibly give birth to such a spell!
With just a single corpse and some random flesh, it could create living Demons!
Although their existence was very limited, the potential was immense!
Isaac had yet to test it himself due to cost-effectiveness concerns, but as long as a sample and sufficient flesh were provided, this mere Tier Two Magic could even replicate a Tier Three Demon!
Of course, the copy wouldn’t be perfect—powers like Authority would be lost to some extent—but even so, the effect was astonishing. Among all Tier Two Magic, there was absolutely nothing superior to it!
As a veteran High-level Mage, even if he hadn’t progressed far beyond that rank, Evans’s experience was more than sufficient. He could tell at a glance that something was off about this Magic.
Because of this, the hand Evans used to hold the Magic Book trembled slightly. Isaac’s identity as a Mad Witch was no secret within the Sect, and he had never tried to hide it.
’And a Magic with such immense potential, one that surpasses the normal Magic Domain, coming from a Mad Witch... Its source...’
’It doesn’t take much to figure it out...’
’Magic from an Outer God...’
’Honestly, even if it’s not the original version, I wouldn’t dare learn it or use it...’
He may have committed an act that the Church would consider high heresy—researching a Divine Corpse—but in truth, the greatest risk if he were exposed was that he would have to surrender it. He would have to give it to the Flesh Sect, at the very least, or his life would be in peril.
But conversely, as long as he handed it over, there would be no other issues.
As for the Church...
Honestly, times had changed. It was no longer the age of Deities, but the age of Wizards. Forget about researching dead Gods—even studying living ones was possible.
As long as you submitted a viable proposal to the Truth Association, you could conduct your research openly. In some cases, the church of the very Deity being studied would have to cooperate with the Wizards and help collect samples!
In this era, even Deities had to play by the Wizards’ rules!
Of course, this was limited to True Gods; Outer Gods were not part of the equation.
That was why, while Evans and Siwal dared to research and even steal the power of True Gods, they would never reach for the power of Outer Gods. After all, Outer Gods didn’t play by the Wizards’ rules.
Isaac saw Evans’s hesitation and understood the many misconceptions outsiders had about the power of a Mad Witch. He smiled and explained, "Relax. While this Magic does originate from the Master of Billions of Flesh, it’s not the original version. The power of the spell is now completely severed from Him. You can use it without worry. It should be of great use to you."
Evans’s trembling heart steadied a little at Isaac’s words. After all, they were in the same boat now; Isaac had no reason to sabotage him here.
More importantly, while he hadn’t formally studied the Magic yet, he was a High-level Mage. He already had a general understanding of its effects.
The Flesh Nest Magic was certainly worthy of its origin as a spell from an Outer God. Its offensive capabilities were admittedly lacking, mainly due to the long preparation time and the limited lifespan of the Demons it created.
But those were its only drawbacks; everything else was an advantage.
As a High-level Mage, Evans didn’t have such a narrow view of Magic. The same spell could have vastly different effects when applied in a different context.
Take the Flesh Nest, for example. If used for offense, its flaws were numerous. But what if it were used for defense?
If used for defense, those flaws would vanish. The location to be defended would be fixed, so preparation time and mobility would be irrelevant. The only remaining drawback would be the massive amount of Demon Flesh it required.
But that wasn’t an unsolvable problem. As a High-level Mage, he had access to numerous supply channels. Whether from the Sect, the Truth Association, Lake Town, or even Isaac himself, he could acquire the Demon Flesh he needed.
It would cost a fortune, but...
The Holy Monarchy’s funds weren’t their own; it all came from the support of their Sponsors. If they deployed the Flesh Nest, the stability of the Holy Monarchy’s territory would foreseeably increase dramatically. That result would be more than enough to satisfy the Sponsors backing them.
Furthermore, once the territory was stable, they would have their own production and income, creating a virtuous cycle of development!
This was something Evans had long hoped for but had been unable to achieve.
So for this reason alone, it was worth the risk—even if it meant using the power of an Evil God!
The only difference was, without Isaac’s assurance, he would have run pilot tests in a few locations first, only rolling it out across the territory after confirming it was completely safe.
Of course, even with Isaac’s guarantee, he would still test it in a few places first to confirm its safety before a full rollout. No matter what, this was still power from an Evil God, and he would not dare gamble the future of the Norwegian people on it!
Evans stared at the Magic Book with a complex expression. After a long moment, he sighed and looked at Isaac. "In any case, I thank you on behalf of the Norwegian people!"
With that, Evans gave a deep bow.
Isaac raised an eyebrow but didn’t dodge the gesture. He knew that accepting it was its own form of respect for Evans.
"If you really want to thank me, just take my research project a bit more seriously," Isaac said with a faint smile, preparing to depart. On his way here, another High-level Mage with a story to tell had sought out his territory and was waiting for him now. He planned to strike while the iron was hot and finalize his research team all at once.
Besides, he was eager to find out what special skills this last fellow possessed.
But just as Isaac was about to take his leave, he saw Evans hesitate for a moment. A flash of magical light emanated from his hand, and a Refined Gold Box engraved with Magic Runes appeared.
"This is..." Isaac asked, his curiosity piqued.
"Divine Blood, Divine Bone, Divine Flesh, and a Divine Fragment!"
