Wizard: Scamming a Demon God
Chapter 288 - 219: Our Family’s Deity
Chapter 288: Chapter 219: Our Family’s Deity
Hearing the name of the Blood and Bone God, Evans jumped. He shot up from his chair and stared at Isaac in horror. ’This lunatic... he actually wants to attempt God Creation!’
God Creation was a taboo subject in the Wizarding World.
The power of a Deity is immense, so throughout history, there have always been Wizards who attempted to create and control them.
It was just that, as for successful cases...
There had not been a single success!
And the primary point of failure was the second part—controlling the Deity.
Merely creating a Deity, while difficult, was not impossibly so. There had been quite a few successes, resulting in both True Gods and Outer Gods. But in no case was the creator able to successfully control their creation.
A being with a true sense of self would never willingly submit to another’s control.
The closest result was that of ancient Wizard Sects like the Flesh Sect, which used their formidable power to engage in "cordial negotiations" that resulted in a friendly, cooperative relationship.
Thus, to this day, God Creation experiments had become an absolute taboo. To attempt one was a death sentence.
’And now, Isaac actually wants to attempt God Creation?’
To be honest, Isaac’s plan was highly feasible. He had a Divine Corpse—albeit a rather incomplete one—but with their abilities and the technical support from within the Sect, creating a Deity from it wouldn’t be difficult.
And with the support of a Deity, the war in the Norwegian Kingdom could be ended in a matter of minutes.
Their own power would also grow rapidly and safely.
However, all of this was contingent on one thing—they had to be able to successfully control this Deity!
Otherwise, it was all a pipe dream. With their level of power, they would suffer a truly gruesome death!
’Therefore, the plan has no chance of success. It’s just a dead end.’
However, Isaac didn’t see it that way. Because he had a cheat.
In truth, the proper use for Isaac’s Golden Finger wasn’t for bargaining rituals with Outer Gods. The most critical aspect of his Golden Finger was this: as long as the conditions were met and the process was executed without error—or at least, with any errors kept within a controllable range—the endeavor was guaranteed to be 100% successful.
It was just that during bargaining rituals, Outer Gods would often resort to underhanded tactics to induce more errors, causing the ritual to fail so they could claim the caster’s soul. That was why, for these rituals, Isaac would typically stack his margin for error to one thousand percent.
This gave him a massive buffer. As long as his margin for error didn’t drop below one hundred percent, his bargain with an Outer God would be absolutely guaranteed to succeed.
But this was only for dealings with Outer Gods. When Isaac normally used his Golden Finger to aid in Magic research, he would typically only stack it to around one hundred and fifty percent, two hundred at the absolute most. This was because as long as the number of mistakes didn’t exceed the threshold, one hundred percent was actually sufficient.
So, in Isaac’s eyes, the plan was actually quite simple.
First, design a plan for God Creation and subsequent control that had some chance of success. It didn’t matter if the probability was low—one percent, or even one-tenth of a percent—as long as it wasn’t zero.
Then, he could use the Golden Finger’s ability to identify and patch weaknesses to slowly optimize the experimental plan. Once it was optimized to the absolute limit of his current capabilities, he would then use the Golden Finger to simply brute-force the margin for error even higher.
He wouldn’t even need to go up to the maximum of one thousand percent. Just three to five hundred percent would be enough to guarantee the experiment’s absolute success.
In fact, Isaac had considered a similar plan back when he was in the Imperial Capital but ultimately abandoned it. For one, his reservoir of Knowledge at the time was far from sufficient. For another, the materials required for God Creation were already substantial; adding the resources consumed by the Golden Finger to increase the margin for error would make the cost even more astronomical.
So, the Isaac of the past had passed on the idea. But times had changed.
The Isaac of today now possessed the foundational Knowledge to execute such an experiment. Furthermore, after his promotion to High-level Mage, his clearance within both the Flesh Sect and the Truth Association had increased, granting him access to a much richer trove of information.
More importantly, Evans had a Divine Corpse!
He didn’t know how complete the Divine Corpse was, but that wasn’t important. Because Isaac could create Divinity, and his prior research had already proven that this substance could be used as a raw material for God Creation.
A nearly universal material, at that!
However, if one were to use only Artificial Divine Format, the required amount would be enormous—unimaginably so.
Besides, the cost of materials was a minor issue in comparison. The biggest problem was that the Artificial Divine Format had to be created by Isaac personally; there was currently no way to automate its production. At his current rate, he could barely produce enough to sate Shushu.
But that was if they were using Artificial Divine Format as the sole material. If it was only used to supplement the missing parts of the Divine Corpse, the required quantity wouldn’t be nearly as large. At the very least, Isaac’s own production capacity would be more than enough to supply it.
So, upon learning that Evans possessed a relatively complete Divine Corpse, the idea had inevitably taken root in his mind.
’Besides, it might not even be necessary to completely control this artificial Deity. In this world, there’s a little something called friendship!’
The friendship of a Deity, a True God, would be more than enough for them to see their plan through to completion.
Looking at the horror filling Evans’s eyes, Isaac gave a slight smile. He completely understood Evans’s reaction; by now, he was quite used to it.
