"A... Divine...!" Isaac stared, stunned, at the Refined Gold Box in Evans’s hand. He was speechless for a long moment. ’A Divine Fragment...’ After a while, he asked hesitantly, "For... me?"

If it had been anything else, Isaac would have accepted it without a second thought—even the research data for Evans’s Core Magic.

He was confident he could repay Evans with something of even greater value!

A Divine Fragment... that was a different matter entirely.

The item was far too precious. It was a Divine Fragment taken from an actual Deity. A single piece, if thrown out into the world, would command a sky-high price and trigger a bloodbath!

But Evans just smiled at Isaac’s shocked expression. ’Seeing this guy so stunned makes bringing out these Divine Fragments worth it.’ He shook the Refined Gold Box in his hand again. "I’m rather busy on my end and might not always have time to join your research. Think of this as my contribution to the project."

Of course, that was only one of the reasons. The other was that Evans wanted to test Isaac. He knew that a person’s heart was a fragile thing, not meant to be tested, but the stakes involving the Divine Corpse were simply too high. He had no choice but to be cautious.

And Isaac’s reaction didn’t disappoint him. Though the shock of seeing the Divine Fragment was intense, that was the only emotion in his eyes. There wasn’t the slightest hint of greed.

Clearly, he was trustworthy.

Of course, as a High-level Mage who had clawed his way up from the bottom, Evans wasn’t naive enough to trust someone so easily. He just understood that if they were to truly cooperate and produce any results, some things were bound to come to light. They couldn’t be hidden.

Besides, he wasn’t without his own countermeasures. If Isaac ever developed ill intentions toward the Divine Corpse, and if Evans were to lose or even die at Isaac’s hands, his failsafe would activate instantly. In that event, not only would Isaac fail to obtain the Divine Corpse, he would likely lose his own life in the process!

Isaac took a deep breath and slowly exhaled. Only then did he accept the Refined Gold Box from Evans. He looked at Evans with a grave expression and said earnestly, "Don’t worry. I will see to it that the God Creation experiment succeeds!"

Seeing Isaac’s solemn expression, Evans was taken aback for a moment before smiling and nodding. He had a feeling that this time, he had made the right bet.

Next, Isaac put away the Refined Gold Box and bid Evans farewell. After all, there was someone waiting for him back home.

The return trip, however, would be much easier. He just needed to leave the Holy Monarchy’s grounds and activate his Phase Space to go straight back. After all, his own domain had no spatial-blocking formations—at least, none that could hinder Isaac’s Phase Space.

In fact, Isaac had an even more convenient method: leaving via the Dimension World.

Spatial Movement via the Dimension World was the most advanced form of travel. At the very least, no method available to a Tier Four being could prevent a dimensional rift from opening or closing.

Of course, this mode of travel had strict requirements. The coordinates for the destination had to be incredibly precise; otherwise, it would be all too easy to end up in an entirely different world.

This was one of the reasons Isaac had chosen to take detours and fly over in his pumpkin carriage. With his current power, he was not yet able to perfectly wield this ability of the Dimension World. After all, he was no Dimensional Demon God, unable to perceive the Dimension World with the same insight as They could.

Returning, however, was a different story. He definitely had the precise coordinates for his own home.

However, Isaac chose not to return directly. This was the Holy Monarchy’s stronghold, after all. To just leave so brazenly would be a great show of disrespect and a breach of etiquette.

Evans didn’t try to persuade Isaac to stay. As a fellow High-level Mage, he was also a decisive person and understood that for a Wizard, research was paramount. After all, not everyone was like him, burdened with a Holy Monarchy to look after.

So when Isaac announced his departure, Evans escorted him directly out of the stronghold. He watched, the corner of his mouth twitching, as Isaac was devoured by a ripple of distorted space. Only then did he slowly turn and head back inside.

Seeing the method of Isaac’s departure, a new sliver of worry about their cooperation crept into Evans’s heart. ’A man who so recklessly uses the power of an Outer God...’

’Is it really a good idea to work with someone like that?’

Meanwhile, Isaac, having returned to his domain via Phase Space, was unaware that Evans was again feeling conflicted about their partnership—all because he’d obtained Phase Space from the Void Worm.

But even if he had known, Isaac wouldn’t have cared.

From the moment he’d embarked on the path of the Mad Witch, he had never cared for the opinions of others. All Isaac wanted was pure, simple profit. As long as the margins were high enough, he was capable of anything.

Well, anything short of suicide.

The instant he returned to his domain, Isaac sensed the presence of a High-level Mage in his castle who wasn’t concealing their Magic Power. His eyes narrowed as he transformed into a streak of blue light, shooting toward the fortress and leaving only Liu Li and Shushu behind.

The two exchanged a look before going their separate ways. Liu Li went to take stock of the changes that had occurred in the domain and the Mage Tower, ready to report to Isaac when needed. Shushu, meanwhile, returned directly to the Mage Tower. From there, it used a Dimension Apostle left behind to travel to Isaac’s Dimension World, planning to set up its own laboratory and study a bit of Necromancy on the side.
