Chapter 183: Chapter 120: Ancient Secret Shadows: Dynasty Era Treasure!

"This kind of technology isn’t something an ordinary Wizard can master. He must have some other Secret Treasure in his hands!" The two exchanged a glance, the atmosphere heavy. The worst-case scenario had happened!

After the establishment of the Vacuum Catastrophe as an infinite power source, Wizards turned countless crazy concepts into reality. One of these was ultra-long-distance wireless transmission.

It didn’t require a Teleportation Gate or a physical medium. Using the infinite Energy provided by the Vacuum Catastrophe as a carrier, information was encoded into energy waves and transmitted directly to the target’s receiver.

The current High Tower communication system utilized this exact technology.

The enemy’s methods were crude, but he undoubtedly held a Secret Treasure from the ancient times, specifically designed to intercept this kind of information transmission.

"We can’t leave, and we can’t contact anyone. What do we do now?" Alicia asked.

Chen Shang remained expressionless. He took a deep breath. "We can accomplish our objective first."

Alicia glanced at him. "We’re still going underground?"

Chen Shang nodded. "Yes. We can’t stay in this place for long. We’ll get the item first, then find a way to break out."

The two continued down along the crevice.

The further they went, the darker the rock walls became—from grayish-white to dark gray, and then from dark gray to blackish-brown. The temperature rose. The rock underfoot shifted from icy cold to warm, and finally to scalding hot.

Chen Shang’s One-Element Heavy Water condensed into a thermal insulation layer on the soles of his shoes. Alicia’s Ice Crystal melted and froze beneath her feet in an endless cycle.

In the vision of the Eye of Truth, a cluster of dark yellow light was already close at hand. It was a certain Earth Element node.

Fifteen minutes later, a faint glimmer appeared before the two of them. Only upon stepping into the light did they see clearly—it was a dark yellow lake.

The lake wasn’t large, barely twenty meters in diameter and only twenty meters deep. An Amber-like liquid flowed sluggishly within this cavern deep underground.

The liquid churned slowly on the lake’s surface, bubbling up with fist-sized spheres. When the bubbles burst, they released streams of warm air that carried a trace of a heavy presence.

Chen Shang crouched by the lake, reached out, and lightly tapped the surface of the liquid with his fingertips. It felt warm to the touch, and a heavy sensation of envelopment surged up from his fingers.

It was somewhat similar to the One-Element Heavy Water; it felt as though the weight of the entire earth was pressing down on that tiny patch of liquid.

His interface flashed.

[Extractable entry detected: Profound Yellow Earth (Purple)—Source: Broken Rock Plane · Heart of the Earth Veins. Completion rate: 36%. Extract?]

Chen Shang didn’t hesitate. He silently commanded the extraction, and the Purple entry began to condense.

After activating the entry, a heavy Power surged out. It flowed along his fingertips, condensing into an exceptionally heavy, dark yellow point of light.

Once he refined this Profound Yellow Earth and constructed his fourth and fifth Magic Springs within his body, he could apply an Enchantment to the Enchanted Soil and the Wind Attribute.

Alicia followed Chen Shang’s example. Reaching her hands into the lake, she scooped up a small handful of the dark yellow liquid and placed it into her Space Device. The moment the liquid left the lake’s surface, it rapidly crystallized into a fist-sized Amber-colored solid.

Chen Shang stood up. Just as he turned around to speak to Alicia, his body stiffened.

In his perception, two Huluwas had been blocked out. They were either captured or destroyed. Either way, that Black Wizard was still right above them.

Alicia noticed the Transformation in his expression.

"What’s wrong?"

"Two of my Creatively Born Creatures were killed," Chen Shang said. "None of them have managed to escape so far. That guy is more troublesome than we thought. He’s locking us down."

"What do we do now?" Alicia kept her voice very low. Ice Crystal seeped from her fingertips, condensing into a double-layered frost veil around them—not for Defense, but to isolate their voices.

Chen Shang didn’t answer immediately. Crouching at the edge of the crevice’s shadow, he looked up, his Eye of Truth piercing through the rock layers.

The centipede was slithering far away, but he didn’t see any sign of the Black Wizard.

Chen Shang withdrew his gaze, opened his Space Book, and began to release his Creation Species.

Hundreds of Ben Bo’Erbas and seven or eight sets of Huluwas. For scouting the way, it was enough.

For the first batch, he released thirty Ben Bo’Erbas, which rapidly moved up along the crevice. Their footsteps were extremely light, their Runes so dim they were almost invisible, and their grayish-Blue skin blended perfectly with the rock walls.

The second batch consisted of another thirty Ben Bo’Erbas, accompanied by two Huluwas. They drilled out of the fissures on both sides of the rock wall, detouring in different directions.

The third batch, the fourth batch... In short, the more scattered they were, the better. Even if they made a little noise, it didn’t matter.

For one, these Creation Species could interfere with the enemy’s line of sight. Even if the enemy tried to catch them one by one, it would take time.

Secondly, it would test whether the Black Wizard’s wind blockade had any loopholes. As long as a single unit managed to break through, they would have a chance to escape.

If none succeeded, they would at least know which directions were dead ends.

"They won’t last long." Chen Shang stood up, closed the Space Book, and hung it on his chest. "We need a quiet place. I’m going to condense my Fourth Magic Spring."

Alicia glanced at him. "You’re going to condense it now? Is that safe?"

"It’s not a spur-of-the-moment decision; I’ve already planned it out. My Fourth Magic Spring was originally set to be the Wind Attribute, but it lacked a foundation, which is why I came here seeking Earth Element materials.

"With this thing, even if we can’t beat him, our ability to escape will be greatly enhanced."

Chen Shang had thought it through very clearly. If he used the Earth Element Magic Spring to support Shrinking Earth, he could maintain it for much longer, giving them a glimmer of hope for survival.

Alicia didn’t object. The two descended further along the crevice, groping their way in the opposite direction of the Heart of the Earth Veins.

The rock walls reverted from blackish-brown to grayish-black, and the temperature dropped again. The concentration of the Earth Element in the air shifted from thick to thin.
