Chapter 184: Chapter 120: Ancient Secret Shadows: Dynasty Era Treasure!

After walking for about fifteen minutes, the crevice split into a branching path. At its end lay a semi-natural cavern.

The cavern wasn’t large, measuring less than ten meters in diameter. The ground was flat and covered with a layer of fine powder, resembling the weathered residue of limestone.

In the corner sat a half-collapsed stone platform, its edges bearing obvious gnaw marks. Evidently, some creature had once nested here, though it had long since been abandoned.

Chen Shang activated his Eye of Truth to inspect the area. There were no fresh scents, no droppings, and no lingering energy fluctuations. It was relatively safe.

During this process, he sensed that quite a few Ben Bo’Erbas had been eliminated, while others had their connections blocked. Every single Creation Species was doing its utmost to interfere with the enemy.

Chen Shang sat cross-legged in the center of the cavern and materialized the lump of Profound Yellow Earth he had just extracted. The dark yellow speck of light hovered in his palm, heavy and substantial.

He wasn’t in a hurry to integrate it into his Sea of Consciousness. Instead, he opened his interface and ran the blueprint for the Earth Attribute Spring through his mind.

The Earth Spring was entirely different from the Wind Spring. It didn’t require that woven spherical structure; rather, it was a solid entity, for it was a vessel in and of itself.

All Chen Shang needed to do was use his Spiritual Power to carve out a territory at the very bottom of his Sea of Consciousness—the designated location for the Earth Spring. Then, he just had to place the Profound Yellow Earth there and slowly condense and sculpt it.

He began his work. Spiritual Power surged from his Crystal Core, carving out a circular area at the bottom of his Sea of Consciousness. He then sealed off the boundaries of this territory.

The complete design featured the Fire Spring and Water Spring on the left and right, the Wind Spring at the very top, and the Earth Spring at the very bottom. The four Magic Springs formed a diamond-shaped distribution.

The Profound Yellow Earth sank into his Sea of Consciousness. Guided by his Spiritual Power, it landed in the center of the demarcated circular area and began to grow.

The dark yellow speck of light released fine, glowing particles into its surroundings. These particles settled onto the ground, accumulating layer by layer, much like the formation process of sedimentary rock.

Every underlying layer was denser and more stable than the one above it. The particles accumulated at an incredibly slow pace—so slow that the naked eye could hardly discern any change.

However, Chen Shang could feel a steady, solid sense of support continuously radiating from the bottom of his Sea of Consciousness.

The Earth Spring was meant to bear weight, and it also served to regulate the impact the Magic Springs had on his body.

Alicia leaned against the edge of the cavern entrance, grasping the Cyan Jade Gourd in her hand. Her gaze swept back and forth across the darkness outside.

Her Ice Crystals had laid a thin layer of frost across the entrance; any living creature that entered the frosted area would be instantly detected by her.

Chen Shang’s nosebleed had stopped, and his complexion had eased considerably. The condensation of the Earth Spring provided a restorative feedback, making his Spiritual Power much more stable.

The speed at which the Profound Yellow Earth released particles gradually accelerated. The sedimentary layer grew from a thin sheet to three centimeters thick, and then to five centimeters.

As a result, the diameter of the Earth Spring expanded. It didn’t look like a Magic Spring; rather, it resembled a flattened, dark yellow cobblestone.

Right as Chen Shang was condensing his Fourth Magic Spring, the Black Wizard crouched on a rocky ledge above the crevice. Beneath his hood, his dark gray eyes stared into the depths of the rift with great urgency.

A centipede coiled at his feet, its dark yellow carapace gleaming with a greasy luster in the dim light.

He was utilizing a Secret Treasure to sense them, but the two Apprentices were like stones sunk into deep water—not even the slightest energy fluctuation leaked out anymore.

He had never seen anyone so adept at hiding!

He stood up in frustration. The centipede’s head rose in tandem, its antennae swaying in the air to capture any lingering traces of energy.

They were faint, sparse, and lacked a clear direction.

After the two Apprentices dove deep into the crevice, their auras scattered into seven or eight trails. Some went up, some went down, and some detoured laterally.

He had slain a few of them and knew this was the enemy releasing their troops to interfere with him.

But now there were even more. In his perception, there had to be at least a hundred auras scurrying about in all directions. However, he only had one centipede, and he himself was not adept at tracking.

After all, he wasn’t a Wizard; he had merely obtained some Wizard inheritances.

Or, to be more precise, he was just a Sub-human who had joined an organization called the Lost Society, thereby having the fortune to acquire certain inheritances.

The Lost Society originated in a certain Native Plane. Three hundred years ago, a lucky individual discovered a Forgotten City from the Dynasty Era—a relic of an era buried during the Void Catastrophe.

That lucky person then brought out dozens of well-preserved ancient Secret Treasures, along with partial Wizard inheritances.

Consequently, he began recruiting members and established the Lost Society. The members of this organization were able to teleport across Planes and hide themselves, all by relying on those Secret Treasures.

The Black Wizard’s purpose in coming here this time was to recharge a Secret Treasure called the Four Elements Furnace.

It was akin to a storage and conversion device. After the emergence of the [Vacuum Catastrophe], the energy produced by this infinite power source was purely attributeless Void Energy.

Therefore, Wizards of the Dynasty Era invented the Four Elements Furnace to convert Void Energy into the four Basic Elements: earth, water, wind, and fire. This supplied the Energy Cores of Alchemy Workshops, Floating Cities, and even High Towers.

The Lost Society didn’t possess the Vacuum Catastrophe. They could only recharge the Melting Furnace themselves, using various Ores, Crystal Cores, and even living creatures rich in Elemental Energy, allowing the furnace to convert them into usable Elemental Energy.

Since they lacked the protection of a Plane Will, the members who could go out on missions had to cross the baseline of a First Level Wizard. Regardless of their actual combat power, their physical constitution had to reach Tier One.

The Black Wizard was the member in the organization responsible for Earth Element conversion, and the Broken Rock Plane was a place he frequently visited to gather raw materials.

Running into those two Apprentices today was purely accidental, and coveting that sword was a spur-of-the-moment whim. The sword’s quality was higher than any weapon he had ever seen.

He thought it would be a sure thing; a Second Level Apprentice couldn’t possibly stand a chance against him.

But he never calculated that a Second Level Apprentice could be so slippery and run away so fast.

"Is the gap between myself and an Apprentice who received a True Wizard’s education really this vast?" The Black Wizard took a deep breath, suppressing his irritation.
