Wizard: Grinding to Lord of Truth
Chapter 373 - 374: A Savage World
Just as Antaromen was about to break the world's seal on the Barbaric Universe World, Andre was pulled directly into it by the world's consciousness.
When the prismatic light before him vanished, an utterly desolate and wild landscape appeared before Andre.
Andre found himself high in the sky, a vantage point from which he could see everything clearly.
In the sky before him, vast swaths of dark clouds were rapidly expanding in his direction.
As the dark clouds rolled in, the sunlight vanished with incredible speed.
Instantly, snowflakes began to drift down. At first, they were just scattered, granular specks.
But in the blink of an eye, the flurries turned into a blinding blizzard.
Before long, the ground was covered in a thick, white blanket of snow.
As the snow fell, lava began to erupt from deep rift valleys across the land, instantly melting the fresh powder.
The eruption was accompanied by a fierce Wind that swept across the sky, pushing the dark clouds. This gale whipped up the smoke and dust from the lava flows, creating a thick, hazy fog that obscured the view.
Through this chaotic environment, Andre looked into the distance, at a spot not too far away.
Bizarrely shaped mountain ranges stood before him.
And with the mountains, the life of this world revealed itself to Andre.
In the distant valleys, dark silhouettes would occasionally appear against the snow-white peaks.
The silhouettes faced off against one another, their confrontations punctuated by deep, powerful roars.
As the roars echoed relentlessly, the snow on the mountains began to give way.
The pristine white blanket of snow transformed into a deadly catastrophe, an avalanche that swept away everything in its path.
In the wake of the avalanche, a behemoth the size of a mountain slowly emerged from a valley.
The giant beast resembled a gorilla, but its body was covered in jet-black scales.
After appearing, the giant beast watched the avalanche careen down the mountain. It blinked its blood-red eyes, then clenched its hands into fists and slammed them into the ground. Instantly, the earth split open.
The avalanche, which had been about to crash into the valley floor, was instantly diverted, pouring into the fissure the beast had just created.
Seeing the avalanche disappear, the giant beast excitedly began to beat its chest with its fists, letting out a tremendous roar as if celebrating its own monumental feat.
'A Powerful Ape Beast! Since they were first recorded, the entire Wizard World has only discovered fewer than 30,000 of them. How is there one here!'
Andre's eyes widened as he stared at the giant beast.
He had learned about the Power Dominating Ape Beast from books in the "blank world."
'The Barbaric Universe World... it truly lives up to its name. To think it even has such a primitive species!'
After a moment of awe, Andre was enveloped by the mysterious force again and carried across the mountain range.
After passing through the mountains, a completely different scene appeared before him.
A vast swamp had appeared before his very eyes.
'Seriously? It's a blizzard over there, but over here, it's like an eternal spring!'
Andre stared wide-eyed at the massive swamp before him.
The massive swamp seemed completely unaffected by the climate on the other side of the mountain range.
The area he had just come from had a temperature below -20 degrees Celsius, yet here, by the swamp, it was above 20 degrees Celsius.
The two areas were separated by a single mountain range, yet their temperatures differed by more than 40 degrees.
'Just what kind of world is this?'
Andre couldn't make heads or tails of it. This time, he had no information to fall back on.
Although he had once accidentally entered the Barbaric Universe World due to matters concerning the Cosmic Sea World, his stay had been brief.
Moreover, after learning that the Barbaric Universe World was a Level 6 World, he had never left the Morning Sky.
After that, he was captured by the Ancestor of the Life Giant Dragon, and then he had returned to his family.
Therefore, he was now completely in the dark about the conditions within the Barbaric Universe World.
Andre sighed as he gazed at the vast swamp before him.
But to his surprise, the sound of his sigh triggered a reaction from the swamp.
Previously, the swamp's surface had been perfectly still, its water an inky green.
A thick layer of rotting leaves and algae floated on the water, emitting a foul stench.
But after Andre sighed, a huge ripple suddenly spread across the water's surface.
A serpentine giant beast shot out of the water, lunging straight for the bank.
Instantly, another giant beast, its color perfectly matching the swamp's surface, leaped away, dodging the underwater predator's lunge.
Seeing its surprise attack fail, the underwater beast flicked its tail in frustration and sank resentfully back into the depths, awaiting its next chance to strike.
The beast on land, however, calmly walked away from the swamp's edge, as if the life-or-death encounter had never happened.
'Such a fast reaction.'
Flying in the air, Andre had a clear view. The underwater beast resembled a crocodile, but it was far larger and more ferocious-looking.
Furthermore, the crocodile-like beast had a single horn on its head that pulsed with a dense, inky green light—a clear sign of potent venom.
As for the other giant beast, the one camouflaged against the swamp, it resembled a deer.
But it was unlike any deer Andre had ever seen; its appearance was particularly strange.
The strangest feature of this giant deer was the three ridges of upright scales running along its spine.
These scales were incredibly sharp, glinting with a strange, cold light.
Moreover, its antlers weren't branched but grew in an upright, spiral shape.
'I've never seen these two types of Magical Beasts before, not even in any books.'
Andre shook his head as he observed the two Magical Beasts, and then the mysterious force carried him onward once more.
Soon, the mysterious force carried Andre past the swamp and into a dense jungle.
The jungle was filled with countless towering trees. Giant trees over 1,000 meters tall, from what Andre could see, were a common sight.
Furthermore, countless insect-type Magical Beasts constantly flitted among the trees.
Living alongside the insect-type Magical Beasts in the jungle were various bird-type and Snake-type Magical Beasts.
As Andre flew over the jungle, he spotted many bird nests and Snake Nests in the giant trees.
Beside these nests, numerous Magical Beasts exuding fluctuations of Power stood guard over their lairs.
Moreover, the bird-type and Snake-type Magical Beasts constantly fought and preyed upon each other.
In the short time it took him to cross the jungle, Andre saw 12 bird-type Magical Beasts get ambushed, killed, and swallowed whole by Snake-type Magical Beasts.
He also witnessed 8 Snake-type Magical Beasts being snatched up by avian predators, carried away from the trees, and slammed into the ground to their deaths.
