Wizard: Grinding to Lord of Truth
Chapter 352: Struggle in the Wizard World, All a Matter of Ability
Chapter 352 -353: Struggle in the Wizard World, All a Matter of Ability
“What rumors are there about our family?”
Andre looked at the Eight Ancestors, completely bewildered.
“Oh, you don’t know? Well, if you don’t know, it’s better not to ask.”
The Eight Ancestors looked at Andre and waved his hand, dropping the subject.
Andre pursed his lips as he watched the Eight Ancestors.
‘The Eight Ancestors thinks I’ve heard some family rumor and that’s why I don’t want to stay. That must mean there’s some dark chapter in the family’s history.’
But he couldn’t be bothered to ask more. After all, he hadn’t even decided if he wanted to stay.
Anyone else in his position would have almost certainly decided to stay.
After all, this was the Tower of Black Stone, one of the most powerful factions in the entire Wizard World.
But he thought differently. For others, they would join the family and willingly stay for the resources and inherited knowledge it provided.
But for him, those two things weren’t really that important. Ever since he had inscribed the M?bius Ring, his Chaos Magic Power no longer required him to use a Meditation Technique to absorb Magic Power from the outside world. Instead, it circulated spontaneously within his body.
It grew stronger and stronger through continuous splitting and collisions of Chaos Magic Power.
As for other resources, like those used to cultivate his servants—the Eight-toothed Giant Elephant, Seven Rings, and Potato—or to support the Frenzy Beastman Tribe and the Black Iron Giant Tribe…
…he had the entire Cosmic Sea World. The Cosmic Sea World had just become a Level 5 World, filled with vast resources waiting for him to develop. Moreover, the world consciousness of the Cosmic Sea World would grant his every request.
Anything he wanted from the Cosmic Sea World, its world consciousness would deliver into his hands immediately.
But in the family, acquiring resources inevitably meant completing tasks assigned by the family.
As for knowledge, the knowledge available at the Wizard Academy was still sufficient for him for now.
Unless he wanted to advance from a Moonlight Great Mage to a Red Sun Great Wizard.
Otherwise, there wasn’t a significant difference between the knowledge in the family and the knowledge in the academy.
The reason for this was thanks to the Wizard Academy system itself.
Periodically, the knowledge within all Wizard Academies would be updated.
Even if there was some special knowledge the academies couldn’t catalogue, he controlled a Level 5 World and could spend his own resources to purchase it.
Within the family, this knowledge also had to be exchanged for completing family tasks. It was all an exchange, so what did it matter where the exchange happened?
Besides, there was some knowledge that he couldn’t convert into his own Power even if he learned it.
His current Realm was a limiting factor, preventing him from turning that knowledge into Power.
That being the case, there wasn’t much of a difference for him whether he stayed in the family or not.
So, for him, staying or leaving the family truly wasn’t that important.
On the other hand, the family seemed to need him desperately.
The Eight Ancestors looked at Andre and asked seriously, “Do you want to stay in the family, or not?”
“I don’t think it makes much of a difference to me whether I stay or not,” Andre said seriously, looking at the Eight Ancestors.
“It doesn’t make much of a difference?”
The Eight Ancestors grew anxious at his words. Andre had no sense of belonging to the family at all!
But on second thought, he couldn’t blame Andre. The source of Andre’s Bloodline, Angelson, had been dead for 3,000 years.
Under these circumstances, it was hard to ask anything of Andre.
“Child, sometimes, a powerful background and strength can save you from a lot of trouble.”
“For example, your Path of Chaos. Now that I’ve brought it up, you must think I’m going to use your Path as a condition to threaten you.”
“But I won’t. And it’s not just me; no one else in the family would do that either.”
“The family members won’t speak of your Path to outsiders. But think about it. When you’re out in the world, you’ll inevitably get into fights with others.”
“During these battles, your opponents will certainly analyze your Power.”
“When they can’t figure out which Path your Power originates from, they’ll become curious about you.”
“If it were just curiosity, that would be one thing. But what if you encounter some madmen?”
“They would do terrible things to you, like capturing you, taking you away, and studying you endlessly.”
Hearing this, Andre immediately furrowed his brow.
“Are you thinking that I’m threatening you?”
“No, that’s not it. As a Wizard, you know full well what Wizards will do in their pursuit of the Truth.”
“Wizards have done everything in their pursuit of the Truth.”
“For the Truth, Wizards have hunted Giant Dragons, captured Divine Spirits, launched expeditions into thousands of worlds, and enslaved countless races. They do all this just to find the steps on the path to Truth.”
“And the Wizard Civilization is one of the four most powerful forces in the Endless Star Realm. Wizards have never had any scruples, nor is there anything that makes them hesitate.”
“So, incidents like what happened to Angelson have occurred many times throughout the history of the Wizard World.”
“Once they happen, they are often irreversible.”
“I, the old ancestor, and everyone else do not wish for your name to appear in such a history.”
The Eight Ancestors said, looking at Andre earnestly. And what he said was indeed the truth.
Angelson was a perfect example.
When those few guys from the Tower of Fallen Stars were on their expedition to the White Sea World Group, did those three really not discover Angelson’s true identity?
No, they discovered it. But they still killed Angelson and took his body.
After this incident, even though the members of the Tower of Black Stone produced a great deal of evidence proving Angelson was indeed one of their own, sent to disguise himself as a Divine Spirit, those three still received no punishment.
The reason given was that it was a Wizard expedition, and Angelson was a Divine Spirit.
Faced with the three who stubbornly refused to change their story, the members of the Tower of Black Stone ultimately chose to take an eye for an eye. They killed those guys, along with the other Wizards from the Tower of Fallen Stars who were with them.
Faced with the Tower of Black Stone’s retaliation, everyone in the Tower of Fallen Stars was furious.
But they were still powerless against the Tower of Black Stone, because when the Tower of Black Stone did this, they also came up with an excuse for themselves.
“This is the Abyss War. How were we to know if these guys were actually Demons from the Abyss in disguise?”
With that one sentence, there were no repercussions. Even though the Wizards from the Tower of Fallen Stars continuously filed complaints with the Wizard Supreme Alliance Council, the Council completely ignored them.
It set a precedent. If they could stubbornly stick to their lie, so could others.
