Wizard: Grinding to Lord of Truth
Chapter 351: A Heinous Waste
Chapter 351 -352: A Heinous Waste
At this time, unaware that his fate had once again been rewritten, Andre was in a separate world, studying the Chaos Pool in his hands.
‘This construction is far too crude!’
Andre’s brow furrowed as he examined the Witchcraft Array on the Chaos Pool. The arrays inscribed upon it were simply too crude.
They were so crude that, with just a few extra strokes and some minor adjustments to the Energy nodes during its creation, the efficiency of the Witchcraft Array could have been multiplied severalfold.
Take, for instance, the Witchcraft Array for the Great Splitting Technique he was examining now.
Just as its name implied, this Witchcraft Array released the Great Splitting Technique to break down any matter placed inside the Chaos Pool to its primordial state.
In that respect, the Witchcraft wasn’t inscribed incorrectly.
However, the Great Splitting Technique’s Witchcraft Array should have been followed by another for refining or removing impurities, but the Chaos Pool had no such thing.
As a result, these Witchcraft Arrays, whose Level was so absurdly high that only a Red Sun Great Wizard could activate them, exerted only half their potential—or even less.
Most of their effect was nullified by the very impurities they separated.
It was common knowledge in the Wizard World that the materials Wizards used always contained impurities or foreign substances to some extent.
Wizards would always remove these unwanted elements before using such materials.
But this Chaos Pool did no such thing. It completely relied on the Chaos Qi that formed in its center.
The corrosive power of Chaos Qi was incredibly potent, so the task of dealing with impurities in the materials—materials meant to be reverted to their source—was simply offloaded to the Chaos Qi.
It would rely on the corrosiveness of Chaos Qi to convert these impurities into more Chaos Qi,
after all, Chaos Qi wasn’t picky. It would assimilate anything.
‘I suppose the concept isn’t wrong, but it’s just so time-consuming!’
Andre looked at the mass of Chaos Qi in the center of the Chaos Pool and sighed.
Then, he looked elsewhere. As his eyes fell upon another section, Andre couldn’t help but sigh again.
‘Is this a time-acceleration Witchcraft Array?’
‘Why isn’t this Witchcraft Array connected to the others?’
‘If it isn’t connected, how can it possibly accelerate time?’
‘Was this Witchcraft Array inscribed just for decoration?’
Andre stared at the time-acceleration Witchcraft Array and sighed in resignation. He simply could not understand why it had been inscribed on the Chaos Pool.
‘And these space-expansion Witchcraft Arrays… just how many of them were inscribed?’
Andre counted the Wizard Arrays before him. He could distinguish eight distinct Space Witchcraft arrays with his naked eye alone, all of which were for expanding space.
And that was with the Chaos Pool shrunk from the size of a world down to something he could cup in his hands.
‘If the Chaos Pool were to be enlarged, who knows how many more space-expansion Witchcraft Arrays there would be.’
‘Does having a wealth of resources mean you can be this wasteful?’
Andre gazed at the Chaos Pool in his hands, unable to wipe the pained, wincing look from his eyes.
At that moment, he realized that if his Realm were high enough, the raw materials used for this single Chaos Pool would be enough for him to construct three of them himself.
‘Sigh… I guess the poor have their ways of scraping by, and the rich have their ways of being wasteful. This is just too extravagant.’
Andre kept shaking his head as he looked at the Chaos Pool in his hands.
Then, his gaze fell upon the bottom of the Chaos Pool—its core, the very place where Chaos Qi was generated.
When Andre saw this part, he couldn’t help but sigh. He set the Chaos Pool on the ground, stared blankly toward the ceiling, and sighed again and again.
‘So crude. How can Demon Patterns like this even function?’
‘It’s a miracle the Demon Pattern Array can function at all.’
At the bottom of the Chaos Pool, in the area Andre had just examined, the Demon Patterns looked as though they had been hacked out with an axe, full of a certain brutal aesthetic.
And yet, this was precisely the kind of technique most taboo in the field of Demon Pattern Study.
A single slip-up, one mistaken stroke, and the entire piece of material would be scrap.
History in the Wizard World was rife with such examples.
‘Sigh… am I really cut out for a family like this?’
Andre sighed, then lay down, turning his head to look at the Chaos Pool he had placed to one side.
He began to contemplate his future.
‘Everything about the Tower of Black Stone is completely different from all I have experienced since my transmigration.’
‘Joining the Tower of Black Stone, a top-tier power in the Wizard World, is undoubtedly a great opportunity. In terms of both resources and knowledge, few factions in the entire Wizard World could compare to the Tower of Black Stone.’
‘But a faction like this… you don’t have to be a genius to know it would be rife with strict rules and a rigid hierarchy.’
‘These rules aren’t like the articles and regulations of an academy; they would be etched into the very being of every clan member of the Tower of Black Stone.’
‘It might sound cliché or even absurd, but when it comes to the distribution of vast resources and immense benefits…’
‘…all sorts of complex and harsh regulations are inevitable.’
‘These regulations, combined with blood ties and seniority, form a suffocating web of rules.’
‘If you want any breathing room, there is only one way: become a Truth Great Wizard, or at the very minimum, a Red Sun Great Wizard.’
‘Only a Red Sun Great Wizard who bears the Power of Truth would have even the slightest qualification to have their voice heard within the family.’
‘Sigh… should I return to the academy, or stay with the family?’
Andre was torn.
Just then, a figure appeared before Andre.
“Eight Ancestors!” Andre shot upright the moment he saw the figure, his eyes fixed on the Eight Ancestors who had just appeared before him.
“Conflicted?” the Eight Ancestors asked, sitting down beside Andre and observing the lingering look of doubt on his face.
“Yes. I’m hesitating… about whether to stay with the family or return to the academy.”
Andre stated his dilemma plainly.
As far as he was concerned, there was no need to hide the issue.
“You feel the family would restrict your actions, your way of thinking?”
The Eight Ancestors immediately put Andre’s thoughts into words.
Andre nodded.
“Do you think the family itself is bad? Or have certain rumors you’ve heard led you to believe the family is a terrible place?”
the Eight Ancestors asked, looking at Andre.
“Rumors about the family?” Andre’s brow furrowed.
