Chapter 344 -345: The Difficulty of the Plan

Andeta laid out his plan.

“Using Believers as sensors… that might actually be possible.”

As Andre listened to the plan, his mind reeled.

Theoretically, the plan proposed by his ancestor, Andeta, could actually succeed.

Everyone’s perception of Truth is different, so by pooling their collective insights, Wizards could greatly enhance their understanding of Truth.

But there were problems, and they were immense.

After perceiving Truth, the Believers’ faith would inevitably lead them to question the one they believe in—the Divine Spirit.

This was nearly unavoidable.

People who grasp Power for themselves find it difficult to have faith in others.

The second point was the transfer of insights into the Power of Truth.

How could the Power of Truth perceived by the Believers be concentrated onto a Wizard? This was an extremely difficult problem.

In fact, if this problem couldn’t be solved, the entire plan would be impossible to execute.

Yet, this very step completely contradicted the process of Believers having faith in a Divine Spirit.

Divine Spirits need Believers to have faith in them—to surrender their very beings. Simply put, they seek the purest faith from the largest number of followers.

The purer and more absolute the Believers’ faith, the better it is for the Divine Spirits.

Otherwise, Divine Spirits wouldn’t have divided their Believers into different Levels.

Starting from General Believers, then Shallow Believers, Devoted Believers, Fanatics, and finally, Holy Spirits!

As their Level of faith rises, the Believers’ own Level also increases.

The more devout the Believers, the more they worship and trust their Divine Spirit.

Under these circumstances, getting a Divine Spirit’s Believers to help a Wizard comprehend the Power of Truth was simply impossible.

The reason for this is that once they reach the stage of Shallow Believers, their Souls begin to merge with the Divine Spirit, though not by much.

Believers at this stage can switch their faith to other Divine Spirits, which is why they are called Shallow Believers.

At the Deep Believer stage, the Believer’s Soul has already merged with the Divine Spirit. If the Divine Spirit dies, the Souls of the Believers merged with it will also perish.

This is why one often sees scenes where, after a Divine Spirit is killed by its enemy, all the high-ranking members of its Church die simultaneously.

Upon reaching the Fanatic stage, not only their Souls, but their bodies also begin to be transformed by the Divine Spirit’s Divine Power.

Besides the physical changes, their most significant trait is that Fanatics can accommodate a Divine Spirit entering their body, allowing them to unleash Power far beyond their own.

This is commonly known as Divine Descent.

But that’s not all. Fanatics are also candidates for Prayer Merging within the Divine Kingdom.

They are the most resilient and powerful legions under a Divine Spirit’s command.

And at the highest Level of a Believer, the Holy Spirit, their bodies and Souls are completely saturated with the Divine Spirit’s Divine Power, utterly under its control.

Likewise, Holy Spirits are the Divine Spirits’ most steadfast servants.

In the mortal world, only Believers who have reached this Level are typically able to serve as the Pope of their respective Churches.

Now that the Levels of Believers have been explained, let’s return to Andeta’s plan.

Andeta intended to have these Believers help Wizards perceive the Power of Truth.

The first step of this plan was that the Believers’ faith in the Wizards must be pure.

Only with pure faith would the Believers be willing to hand over the Power of Truth they perceived.

Therefore, General Believers and Shallow Believers were immediately ruled out.

Their faith is too weak; the slightest disturbance might cause them to abandon their faith in the Wizards.

Because of this, if the method for perceiving the Power of Truth were given to these Shallow and General Believers…

…they would definitely abandon their faith in the Wizards, let alone hand over the Power of Truth they had perceived.

And yet, these two Levels of Believers are the most numerous.

To maximize the effectiveness of the “sensor” plan, it’s essential to have control over the Shallow and General Believers.

This is a point of conflict!

As for the other Levels of Believers, only the Devoted Believers would be suitable for implementing this plan.

At this Level, a Believer’s Soul has begun to merge with the Divine Spirit, but the fusion is not complete, so there is still room to maneuver.

As for the Deep Believers and Fanatics, who are above the Devoted Believers, it’s unthinkable.

Because, in the eyes of these Believers, the Divine Spirit they worship is the One, the Almighty, the All-Father, the Creator of All.

Under these circumstances, Believers of this Level cannot help a Wizard.

In fact, for these Levels of Believers, the very source of their Power is their faith in the Divine Spirit.

The more devout and pure their faith, the more Power the Divine Spirit bestows upon them.

In this situation, perceive the Power of Truth? Don’t be ridiculous!

These people, whose faith has driven them to the point of madness, would think their revered god had been replaced by someone else. They might even attack the very Divine Spirit they believe in.

This kind of thing has happened before in the history of the Endless Star Realm.

Once, a certain Divine Spirit from some world read a Book of Lies that it had written itself, and as a result, its followers all rebelled.

This was simply because the Divine Spirit demanded that its Believers also read this Book of Lies it had written.

To protect themselves, to avoid descending into madness and eventual death…

…the Believers, led by a Holy Spirit, all distanced themselves from the revered god they once worshipped.

In the end, it was a Holy Spirit who stole another Divine Spirit’s Book of Truth and showed it to the first Divine Spirit, which was the only way it managed to escape that state of madness.

With such a precedent, Andre felt that if they proceeded with this plan, history would undoubtedly repeat itself.

If enough people were to implement this plan, it could even trigger significant turmoil throughout the Endless Star Realm.

“It seems you’ve already noticed the difficult points in this plan.”

Andeta said, watching the changes in Andre’s expression.

When he had laid out his plan, Andre’s expression had turned grave, and then began to shift continuously.

The changes were not for the better; instead, his expression grew heavier and heavier.

“Ancestor,” Andre began, after hesitating for a moment. He decided to speak frankly, looking at Andeta and saying slowly, “setting aside the source of the Believers, are you confident that the plan’s setup will allow these Believers to continue believing in the Divine Spirit they previously worshipped?”

“Mm, you’re right. You’ve hit upon the most difficult part of this plan.”

Andeta looked at Andre and nodded slightly.

“This is also why we must continuously select people to execute the plan, to test its feasibility.”

“Angelson was just one step away from success. It’s a shame. He was on the verge of succeeding when the people from the Tower of Fallen Stars interfered and ruined everything.”

As Andeta mentioned Angelson, his brow furrowed with deep sorrow.
