Chapter 209: Chapter 209: War of the Clans

Seeing the Giant Elephants showed no sign of stopping, the giant pythons immediately prepared for battle.

The giant pythons opened their massive jaws one after another. A series of hissing sounds came from their bodies, and then they spewed forth streams of gray gas that carried an intensely sweet scent.

"Poison?" Karina stared wide-eyed at the gray gas.

If they didn’t use poison to slow the Giant Elephants’ advance, they would likely be run clean through by their Ivory!

"It probably won’t be very effective," Andre said, shaking his head as he watched the giant pythons.

The Giant Elephants’ willingness to face the giant pythons’ assault indicated they had encountered them before and knew their tactics well.

Therefore, they were surely prepared. And just as expected, no sooner had Andre spoken than...

A Giant Elephant stopped, raised its trunk, and let out a single, deafening trumpet.

Immediately, a torrent of flames surged from the Giant Elephant’s trunk, meeting the poison spewed by the giant pythons.

The instant the flames and poison met, an incessant SIZZLE filled the air.

The poison was quickly vaporized by the flames.

However, there were eight or nine two-headed giant pythons spewing poison, so a single Giant Elephant was not enough to clear it all away.

Just then, the sound of trumpeting echoed from the distance.

Soon, the Giant Elephants that had left earlier reappeared before Andre and Karina.

A faint blue light shrouded each of these Giant Elephants.

Upon hearing their guards’ call, the rest of the herd had rushed back with all possible Speed, leaving only a few behind to protect the young.

The guards who had just charged also halted, waiting for the rest of their herd.

When the two-headed giant pythons saw the rest of the herd return, they knew this would be a battle for the survival of both their races. They immediately uncoiled, slithered low to the ground, and charged the Giant Elephants.

If they could just halt the Giant Elephants’ advance, they’d have a chance to wrap around them with their bodies and crush them to death.

But when the Giant Elephants saw the two-headed pythons charge, a remarkably human-like look of disdain appeared in their eyes.

Then, the Giant Elephants leaped high into the air and came crashing down upon the giant pythons.

Instantly, a series of sickening CRACKS echoed out.

The Giant Elephants’ "War Stomp" shattered the two-headed pythons’ spines.

Roaring in pain, the giant pythons used their tails to fling the Giant Elephants off their bodies.

THUD, THUD, THUD! The Giant Elephants crashed to the ground, carving out several deep craters. But they simply stood up, shook their heads, and climbed out of the pits as if nothing had happened.

At that moment, the grievously wounded two-headed pythons began to writhe, and a faint Golden Light emerged on their bodies.

Under the shroud of Golden Light, their shattered spines, once grotesquely misaligned, began to gradually heal.

"They can recover from that kind of damage with Talent Witchcraft?"

Karina’s eyes widened as she watched the spines heal.

Andre, however, was not surprised in the slightest. ’If the giant pythons didn’t have a few tricks up their sleeves, why would the Giant Elephants be so intent on wiping them out completely?’

"Alright now, watch closely. It’s not every day you get to see two Demon Beast Races fight to the death."

"Their clashes may not be as flashy as the Witchcraft we human Wizards cast, but we can learn a great deal from their physical combat alone."

Andre said seriously to Karina, gesturing toward the two opposing races.

"Learn from them?" Karina didn’t quite understand what Andre meant.

"Haven’t you noticed? All the Witchcraft they use on themselves are physical enhancements, and their timing is perfect."

"And what are the two things we Wizards fear taking damage to the most? Our Soul and our physical bodies."

"What we need to learn from these two races is their timing in casting Witchcraft during a fight."

"What I’m curious about is how these giant pythons knew the Giant Elephant Race had left guards behind, and why they would still attack the Tomb of the Giant Elephant knowing it was guarded."

As Andre spoke, his gaze shifted to one side.

In the direction he was looking, six two-headed pythons were rapidly approaching from underground.

These two-headed giant pythons were several times larger than the ones currently fighting the Giant Elephants.

Soon, these two-headed giant pythons burst from the earth.

"Three heads!" Andre blinked, staring at the six giant pythons.

"No wonder this giant python clan dared to attack the Tomb of the Giant Elephant!"

"So, they had more powerful members in their ranks!"

Andre watched the three-headed giant pythons, his eyes narrowing as he constantly scanned them with his Eye of Truth, searching for a weakness.

"Aren’t Snake-type Magical Beasts usually solitary creatures?"

"Why are these two-headed and three-headed ones moving in a pack?"

Karina stared wide-eyed at the two opposing forces.

By now, the rest of the Giant Elephant Race herd had arrived, forming ranks beside their guards to face the giant pythons.

The giant pythons coiled together, hissing and roaring, trying to intimidate the Giant Elephants into retreating.

But with the appearance of several Giant Elephants that had six tusks of Ivory and two pairs of ears, the giant pythons knew this battle was a fight to the death.

Either they would kill these Giant Elephants and make them their next meal...

...or they would be skewered on the Giant Elephants’ Ivory like kebabs.

Led by the six three-headed pythons, the python clan launched its assault on the Giant Elephant Race.

"These giant pythons... their bodies recovered so quickly."

Karina blinked, watching the two-headed giant pythons that followed the six three-headed leaders.

"Just moments ago, the Giant Elephants shattered their spines. Now, not even five minutes later, they’re already healed."

"That Speed... it’s truly too fast!"

Andre nodded in agreement with Karina.

Spinal injuries, after all, are notoriously difficult to heal.

The spine connects to countless bones and houses a massive bundle of nerves. Any damage, if not causing numbness in the limbs, would lead to complete paralysis.

The giant pythons, having no limbs, consisted of one long body.

Therefore, they understood the importance of their spine more than any other Magical Beast.

"No wonder the giant pythons dare to challenge the Giant Elephants, a race that dominates the entire continent!"

"With a Talent Witchcraft that can repair the body like that, if I were a giant python, I’d dare to fight these Giant Elephants too."

Andre said to Karina, before turning his full attention to the colossal battle before them.

Trees that had seemed towering to him and Karina were now like children’s toys before these two races, utterly failing to obstruct their massive forms.
