Chapter 210: Chapter 210: War of the Clans 2

As the giant pythons launched their attack, the leading Giant Elephants trumpeted and led the herd in a charge.

The Giant Elephants despised the giant pythons. If their young calves hadn’t discovered Snake Scales in the ancestral tomb while receiving the inheritance of their ancestors’ Power, they would have never known.

They would have never known that the pythons had burrowed into the tomb and were feeding on their dead ancestors.

The pythons had nearly destroyed the ancestors’ resting place entirely.

If the pythons hadn’t escaped so quickly through their tunnels, the Giant Elephant Race would have slaughtered them long ago.

Today, they had sent a few calves into the ancestral tomb as bait, luring the pythons out to avenge their ancestors.

It was also to ensure they wouldn’t suffer the same fate as their ancestors after death.

Therefore, this was a battle to the death between the Giant Elephants and the giant pythons.

Soon, the leaders of the two great herds crashed into one another. Flesh and blood flew, and dust filled the sky.

A sound like rolling Thunder echoed continuously.

A Six-tusked Giant Elephant sent a three-headed giant python flying, its two tusks piercing straight through one of the serpent’s heads.

The Giant Elephant that dealt the devastating blow didn’t escape unscathed. One of its tusks, weakened by age, snapped and went flying.

The pain then triggered the injured giant python’s savage nature.

Its other two heads lunged at the Giant Elephant, jaws snapping.

Just as the two heads were about to tear the elephant in two, it reared up on its hind legs and stomped down, a crushing Power landing squarely on the giant python’s heart.

Instantly, the giant python went limp, its heart crushed.

The Giant Elephant trumpeted, then jerked its head up, tearing the impaled serpent’s head to shreds.

Just as it tore the python’s head apart, another giant python attacked.

A giant python whipped its tail around, striking the Giant Elephant’s body with immense force and knocking it back several steps.

The Giant Elephant coughed up a spray of blood.

But after spitting out the blood, the elephant merely swayed for a moment before charging once more.

"That last blow must have broken at least one of its ribs and punctured a lung."

Andre stared intently at the Giant Elephant, which was now spewing bloody foam from its mouth.

Andre watched the bloody foam and shook his head.

’An injury like that would normally mean retreating to recuperate...’

’But this is a battle for the survival of two races.’

’The Giant Elephant knows it can’t stop. For its herd, for its ancestors, even if it dies, it will drag a giant python of the same rank down with it to face them.’

"What a brutal scene!" Karina, who was standing nearby, frowned as she watched.

"You think *this* is brutal?"

Hearing her, Andre gave her a surprised look.

"If this isn’t brutal, then what is?"

Karina stared at Andre, completely baffled.

Andre just shook his head and began to speak slowly.

"A scene like this is nothing compared to what our forebears in the Wizard Civilization went through during their expeditions to other worlds."

"Back then, our ancestors in the Wizard Civilization had to pass through perilous Stargates just to reach an Otherworld and begin an expedition."

"They did this to bring those Otherworlds under the influence of the Wizard Civilization Will, making our civilization stronger."

"Do you know how many Wizards typically died just to conquer the most common type of world—a Level 2 World that possessed some measure of Extraordinary Power?"

Andre’s question stumped Karina.

Karina looked at Andre and shook her head. He responded by holding up a hand, forming a number with his fingers.

"Two hundred. At least two hundred Official Wizards, and that’s just for a Level 2 World."

"For a Level 3 World, the starting number was also two hundred. But the Wizards who died were at the Realm of Level 3 Wizard, or even Morning Star Great Wizard."

"And for a Level 4 World? It wasn’t strange at all for a Morning Star Great Wizard or a Moonlight Great Mage to fall."

"In fact, if you conquered a Level 4 World without losing a few Morning Star Great Wizards, people would question whether it was truly a Level 4 World at all."

"It was through these arduous expeditions, with their countless casualties, that the Wizard Civilization grew. By analyzing data from these Otherworlds, we gradually developed the necessary equipment, artifacts, and even ultimate weapons like the Star Realm Battleship and War Mother Ship."

"Only after these ultimate weapons were developed did the expeditionary death rate drop by half, falling from the original fifty or sixty percent to just twenty or thirty percent."

"Without these ultimate weapons, conquering worlds wouldn’t be nearly as easy as it is for us today."

"In our current world, all we have to do is pilot a Star Realm Battleship and use its War Weapons to wipe out the natives."

"But without Star Realm Battleships and War Witchcraft Artifacts, the two of us would have to fight to the death with our own lives on the line, just like that Giant Elephant and giant python."

"We would have to forge a path for the Wizards who come after us."

"It’s because of those ancestors, the Wizards who died in Otherworlds, that we can enjoy all that we have today."

At that moment, Andre’s eyes were exceptionally bright.

"It’s all a fight for resources!"

Karina couldn’t help but sigh as she listened to Andre.

"It’s not just about resources. It’s also because other powers and civilizations exist in the Endless Star Realm."

"If the Wizard Civilization hadn’t grown strong and become one of the most powerful factions in the Endless Star Realm..."

"...then all of us Wizards would have become slaves, just like the servant races we now control."

"We would have become Believers for the Deities, rations for the Demons, or snacks for the Devils."

"This has nothing to do with justice or evil. There is only the weak and the strong."

"The weak can only become sustenance for the strong. And for the strong to remain strong, they must constantly seek out the weak and devour them to grow even stronger."

"In this vast, boundless Endless Star Realm, no one wants to be devoured."

"And to avoid being devoured, they must become strong."

"It is through this process that the factions of the Endless Star Realm began to be stratified by strength and rank."

"When two factions of comparable strength collide, their first thought is always to destroy the other and turn them into sustenance to fuel their own power."

"There is no running, no negotiating. There is only a fight to the death."
