Chapter 156: Chapter 125: Fighting Qi Wings, The Flying Dragon Knight’s Hidden Identity
As Ravens carried the news to every corner of the Kingdom, Roy also left Iron Blood Castle and set out for the Southern Territory.
At this moment, he had no idea where exactly in the Southern Territory the Flying Dragon Knight was.
The military intelligence the Ironblood Duke had received from the Southern Territory did not contain the Flying Dragon Knight’s specific location.
This wasn’t a major problem, though.
Once he reached the Southern Territory, finding the Flying Dragon Knight’s exact location would be simple.
The Flying Dragon Knight was the Kalin Kingdom’s strongest fighting force.
The high-ranking generals of the Kalin Kingdom’s army were certain to know his whereabouts.
After leaving Iron Blood Castle, Roy took off his mask and removed the Dark Night Knight’s armor.
He was incredibly fast.
In just over an hour, he left Green Province and arrived at the Morning Star Plain, located in the center of the Kingdom.
After reaching the Morning Star Plain, he wasted no time and continued south, racing toward the Southern Territory.
「Silver Creek City, capital of Gemu Province—the largest and most prosperous city in the Southern Territory.」
On the very first day the Kalin Kingdom mustered its forces to invade the Southern Territory, Silver Creek City fell.
Despite its high, thick walls, the city was breached with ease under the assault of the Flying Dragon Knight and his retinue, falling as if it were an undefended town.
Though they were few in number—just eleven men—their combat strength surpassed that of all the Knights and soldiers in Silver Creek City combined.
To say nothing of the Flying Dragon Knight himself.
He was already one of the most outstanding Silver Great Knights, and on top of that, his mount was a Two-legged Flying Dragon.
Never mind that Silver Creek City had no Silver Great Knights.
Even if it had, they still would not have been able to withstand an attack from the Flying Dragon Knight.
As for the four students and six Clan Knights the Flying Dragon Knight brought with him, they were also not to be underestimated.
With the exception of two students who were Black Iron Great Knights, the other eight were, without fail, Bronze Great Knights.
An elite squad like that? Silver Creek City never stood a chance.
Even the Royal Capital, before the four Dukes began their rebellion, would have been unable to withstand them.
Inner City, Silver Creek City.
The City Lord’s Mansion.
In a large garden in the rear courtyard, the Flying Dragon Knight stood beside the Two-legged Flying Dragon that had changed his life. Dressed in black hunter’s attire with gold trim, his hair and beard as white as snow, he was using a brush to scrub the creature’s wings.
The Two-legged Flying Dragon, with a wingspan and length both approaching twenty meters, lay on the ground like an obedient puppy. It kept its eyes closed, enjoying its master’s grooming.
Just as the Flying Dragon Knight was finishing up with the creature’s left wing, a young Knight entered the garden and strode toward him. The newcomer was handsome, perhaps twenty-five or twenty-six, with short golden hair and clad in silvery-white light armor.
He was Gavin Buckley, a commoner by birth and the Flying Dragon Knight’s youngest and most favored disciple.
Gavin didn’t get too close. He stopped five or six meters away, bowed respectfully, and said quickly, "Master, our spy in Ice Wind City has sent the latest intelligence on the Ironblood Duke and the Dark Night Knight."
The Flying Dragon Knight glanced at Gavin before returning to his work. "Go on," he said nonchalantly. "What have they been up to now?"
Gavin replied without hesitation:
"Late last night, the Dark Night Knight launched a surprise attack on Iron Blood Castle. He killed the Ironblood Duke in a single blow, in full view of everyone."
"Most of the Reilly Clan’s Clan Knights and..."
Before Gavin could finish, the Flying Dragon Knight interrupted him. His brow furrowed as he turned to look at Gavin. "Killed the Ironblood Duke in a single blow?"
"Yes. More than a thousand people inside Iron Blood Castle witnessed the Dark Night Knight kill the Ironblood Duke with their own eyes."
Gavin replied at once, without a hint of hesitation.
When Gavin had first read that the Ironblood Duke had been killed in a single blow by the Dark Night Knight, he too had found it unbelievable.
The Dark Night Knight had, of course, already demonstrated the formidable power to defeat other Bronze Great Knights with ease.
But the Ironblood Duke was a Silver Great Knight—and a long-renowned one at that, whose strength had shown no signs of decline.
However, after reading the full report from the spy in Ice Wind City, he had ultimately chosen to believe it.
The report contained much more than just the news that the Ironblood Duke had been killed in a single blow.
For instance, it detailed how most of the Clan Knights had chosen to side with the Dark Night Knight, killing other members of the Reilly Clan to help him seize control of Ice Wind City. It also mentioned that the Dark Night Knight intended to give the Reilly Clan’s lands to Roy and support the Wesley Clan in becoming the new Lord of the North.
If the battle between the Dark Night Knight and the Ironblood Duke hadn’t been decided in an instant, those Clan Knights would never have made such a choice.
The Flying Dragon Knight tossed the brush back into the bucket and strode swiftly over to Gavin.
Without a word from his master, Gavin immediately handed over the note the Raven had delivered.
The Flying Dragon Knight took the slip of paper and quickly scanned its contents.
In moments, he had finished reading.
After a few seconds of silence, the Flying Dragon Knight chuckled. "To think his power has grown to this extent in just a few short months."
"The world is truly never lacking for geniuses. Compared to him, my own talent seems rather common. It took me thirteen years to advance from Bronze Great Knight to Silver Great Knight."
Upon hearing his master’s words, Gavin immediately replied, "Master, you followed the orthodox path of steady, deliberate advancement. You and he are not walking the same path."
