With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods

Chapter 922 Source of the mist (3)

Lin Fan didn’t release the Clear Water barrier right away as he kept staring at the tapir that was lying in the center of the barrier in the submission pose.

Though he did see a notification appear when the tapir took this pose.

The tapir laid there in silence for a bit before slowly looking up at Lin Fan.

With the way that it looked up at Lin Fan, it was almost as if it was looking at him with an aggrieved look.

After all, the tapir had even taken this submission pose and had made it clear that it was giving up, so why had Lin Fan not released the barrier yet?

In this situation, this human should clearly come and see how it was doing, as well as trying to take the resources from its body. That was just how humans were, they would let their guards down as long as it pretended to submit.

It was just that this wasn’t how Lin Fan was.

Lin Fan just continued watching the tapir for a bit, as if he was waiting for something.

But even after watching the tapir for a bit, it didn’t seem like there was going to be another notification that appeared. Since he didn’t see the notification, there was no reason for him to release the tapir.

Instead, Lin Fan called out one of his tamed spirit beasts after seeing that the tapir didn’t give him a notification.

“What is it?” Hayase asked when he was called out.

He had been in the middle of flirting with Shiro, or it was better to say that he was in the middle of being ignored by her while he kept trying to talk to her when he was suddenly summoned out like this.

So naturally he wasn’t happy at being summoned out like this.

Though Hayase wouldn’t speak too roughly since he knew that there had to be a reason for being called out like this.

Lin Fan pointed at the tapir inside of the Clear Water barrier and said, “Help me translate what it’s saying. I want to know what it’s thinking.”

If it was any other spirit beast, Lin Fan wouldn’t be as interested.

However, this tapir’s ability had piqued his interest and he wanted to know more about it which is why he was doing what he could to trigger the Love Gauge Taming. He wanted this tapir as his tamed spirit beast.

Hayase looked at the tapir who was lying on the ground and said, “Why are you dumb enough to pick a fight with him when you’re nothing more than a kid?”

“This tapir is a kid?” Lin Fan asked in a surprised voice.

Hayase gave a nod before saying, “That’s right. This thing is known as a Baku, it’s a special monster from the magic continent where I come from that specializes in using illusions. It’s rare to see such a monster here.”

Baku, that was also a name that Lin Fan was familiar with since this was a name from his previous world.

He didn’t think that this mythical creature actually existed in this world.

The tapir hesitated a bit before making a few sounds.

“What is it saying?” Lin Fan asked when he saw Hayase didn’t say anything.

“It’s asking me to save it and help it escape. It’s saying that it’ll work with me to take you down and free me from your control.”

Hayase shook his head and gave a sigh after saying this.

Then looking down at the tapir, he said, “I’m following him on my own free will. I have my reasons for following him and you should make the smart choice to follow him as well.”

Then in a softer voice, he said, “Or you’ll suffer.”

The tapir trembled when it heard this before slowly looking up at Lin Fan.

It was at this moment that Lin Fan suddenly shot a smile in the direction of the tapir.

Seeing this smile didn’t put the tapir at ease, but rather it made a chill run down the tapir’s spine. Searᴄh the ηovёlFire .net website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

With that chill running down the tapir’s spine, there was another notification that appeared.

Lin Fan had to admit that Hayase was quite good at scaring the tapir.

Just a few words were already enough to make another notification appear.

Though Lin Fan also knew that the important thing was the ability to communicate. It was only through the ability to communicate with the tapir that he was able to effectively scare the tapir like this.

The way that the tapir looked at Lin Fan now was completely different from the way that it looked at Lin Fan before. This time, it seemed like it was hesitating on what to do about Lin Fan.

It seemed like traces of submission were finally appearing in the heart of the tapir.

To further this, Lin Fan simply said, “Then you’re saying that it won’t submit? If that’s the case, what do you think would be the better way to take care of it? In my opinion, since it’s a rare monster, I’m sure that the material from it would have value.”

Another chill ran down the tapir’s spine when it heard this.

Hayase gave a nod to go along with Lin Fan and then he said, “It’s indeed true that this Baku’s materials are worth something, but the most effective way of using a Baku is actually to use it as a source of mist.”

“Source of mist?” Lin Fan asked in a confused voice.

Hayase said with another nod, “The mist of the Baku has illusion abilities and since you have the ability to collect it, it would be very useful to gather the mist to use in the future. As long as you trap it, you’ll be able to use it as a source of mist forever.” Then after a pause, Hayase added, “Or until it starves to death.”

Lin Fan had to nod in agreement to this since he already knew what kind of power the Baku’s mist had. He hadn’t even thought about doing this since he knew that the Baku was his target this time.

He had only thought about taming it or killing it if it refused, but Hayase did give him a good idea.

Especially since the Clear Water barrier showed that it was able to trap the Baku.

But these words actually pushed it over the limit.

There was another notification along with a popup that appeared in front of Lin Fan.

A faint smile appeared on his lips when he saw this which actually caused another notification to appear.

But that wasn’t the only thing that happened.

The Baku finally lost control of itself and broke down in tears.

Just like Hayase had said, this Baku was actually still a child, so it couldn’t control itself when it lost itself to fear. The moment that it broke down, it started shouting as if it was complaining.

Lin Fan looked at Hayase for a translation, but he could see the bitter smile that was on Hayase’s face.

After a long silence, Hayase said, “It’s complaining that we’re bullying it.”

Well, that wasn’t the only thing that the Baku was saying, but there were words that Hayase couldn’t repeat. It wasn’t because the words that the Baku were saying were bad words, but rather they were words like…

“How could you bully this baby? I’m just a tiny baby and you’re bullying me! You guys are nothing more than big meanies!”

For a dignified dragon like Hayase, he didn’t feel it was appropriate for him to say words like this. So he couldn’t repeat them for the sake of his own pride and appearance.

He could only simplify what the Baku had said.

A faint smile appeared on Lin Fan’s lips when he heard this before he went forward towards the Clear Water barrier.

When the Baku saw this, it suddenly stopped crying and moved back to get away from Lin Fan. Unfortunately, the Baku was still trapped inside of the Clear Water barrier and couldn’t move away from Lin Fan.

The only thing that it could do was cower in the corner of the Clear Water barrier as it watched Lin Fan to see what he would do.

Lin Fan revealed another smile as he said, “Don’t be afraid, we’re just kidding. We won’t actually hurt a little baby like you. That is as long as you don’t mean us any harm and are willing to follow my orders.”

The Baku trembled once more when it heard this before another notification appeared in front of Lin Fan’s face.

He felt that he had been quite sincere, but it seemed that the Baku saw this differently.

But Lin Fan wasn’t discouraged as he waited for the Baku to respond.

The Baku’s expression slowly changed while it watched Lin Fan.

That was because…Lin Fan had agreed to a certain notification that appeared.

Once he agreed, the mind of the Baku started to change.

For some reason, it felt more accepting of Lin Fan’s suggestion.

After a moment of silence, the Baku slowly took a step forward and gave a nod. Though it did this, it seemed like it was still on guard against Lin Fan, as if it was waiting to see how Lin Fan reacted.

Lin Fan didn’t hesitate as he simply released the Clear Water barrier and put his hand out in front of him.

The Baku was surprised to see the Clear Water barrier disappear, but it didn’t plan on running this time.

It just went forward and rubbed up against Lin Fan’s hand.

That was the power of the Love Gauge Taming Skill.
