Lin Fan didn’t release the Clear Water barrier right away as he kept staring at the tapir that was lying in the center of the barrier in the submission pose.

“This tapir is a kid?” Lin Fan asked in a surprised voice.
Hayase gave a nod before saying, “That’s right. This thing is known as a Baku, it’s a special monster from the magic continent where I come from that specializes in using illusions. It’s rare to see such a monster here.”
Baku, that was also a name that Lin Fan was familiar with since this was a name from his previous world.
He didn’t think that this mythical creature actually existed in this world.
The tapir hesitated a bit before making a few sounds.
“What is it saying?” Lin Fan asked when he saw Hayase didn’t say anything.
“It’s asking me to save it and help it escape. It’s saying that it’ll work with me to take you down and free me from your control.”
Hayase shook his head and gave a sigh after saying this.
Then looking down at the tapir, he said, “I’m following him on my own free will. I have my reasons for following him and you should make the smart choice to follow him as well.”
Then in a softer voice, he said, “Or you’ll suffer.”
The tapir trembled when it heard this before slowly looking up at Lin Fan.
It was at this moment that Lin Fan suddenly shot a smile in the direction of the tapir.
Seeing this smile didn’t put the tapir at ease, but rather it made a chill run down the tapir’s spine.

Lin Fan had to admit that Hayase was quite good at scaring the tapir.

Hayase said with another nod, “The mist of the Baku has illusion abilities and since you have the ability to collect it, it would be very useful to gather the mist to use in the future. As long as you trap it, you’ll be able to use it as a source of mist forever.” Then after a pause, Hayase added, “Or until it starves to death.”
Lin Fan had to nod in agreement to this since he already knew what kind of power the Baku’s mist had. He hadn’t even thought about doing this since he knew that the Baku was his target this time.
He had only thought about taming it or killing it if it refused, but Hayase did give him a good idea.
Especially since the Clear Water barrier showed that it was able to trap the Baku.
But these words actually pushed it over the limit.
There was another notification along with a popup that appeared in front of Lin Fan.
A faint smile appeared on his lips when he saw this which actually caused another notification to appear.

The Baku finally lost control of itself and broke down in tears.

Lin Fan looked at Hayase for a translation, but he could see the bitter smile that was on Hayase’s face.
After a long silence, Hayase said, “It’s complaining that we’re bullying it.”
Well, that wasn’t the only thing that the Baku was saying, but there were words that Hayase couldn’t repeat. It wasn’t because the words that the Baku were saying were bad words, but rather they were words like…

The Baku trembled once more when it heard this before another notification appeared in front of Lin Fan’s face.
He felt that he had been quite sincere, but it seemed that the Baku saw this differently.
But Lin Fan wasn’t discouraged as he waited for the Baku to respond.
The Baku’s expression slowly changed while it watched Lin Fan.
That was because…Lin Fan had agreed to a certain notification that appeared.
Once he agreed, the mind of the Baku started to change.

After a moment of silence, the Baku slowly took a step forward and gave a nod. Though it did this, it seemed like it was still on guard against Lin Fan, as if it was waiting to see how Lin Fan reacted.
Lin Fan didn’t hesitate as he simply released the Clear Water barrier and put his hand out in front of him.
The Baku was surprised to see the Clear Water barrier disappear, but it didn’t plan on running this time.
