Chapter 1576: Speed running

When the Iron Fist King saw the other two sitting in the room, he didn’t waste any time in going over to provoke them.

"What is with these old men and having to provoke each other like this? Can’t they just behave like normal people and be happy to see each other?" Lin Fan thought to himself with a secret sigh.

But in the end, he still went forward to stop them since this wasn’t the time and place for this.

With a snort, the Iron Fist King sat down and started recovering like the Fire Fist King and the Poison King had been doing.

Lin Fan didn’t bother with the three elders since he could see that they knew what was most important in this situation. Instead, he thought about what the array spirit had said to him.

This was something that he had already thought about when they had first come to the main part of the Dao Sect. Even though he had been able to open the gate, he knew that he was still far from being able to take control of anything here.

At best, it seemed like he was only able to take partial control after seeing everything that happened in this place. But partial control was not what Lin Fan wanted, he wanted to take full control of the Dao Sect ruins.

Which was why it was imperative that he obtained the method to do so.

"I’m already familiar with the trials in the pavilions in the outer part, so I should be able to claim them quite quickly."

What Lin Fan was planning on doing was speed running all of those pavilions that were remaining while Ye Qing Huan and Xiao Mu were still clearing the illusion array. After all, this was the most effective method since he didn’t know how long it would take them.

Even if they finished early, the array spirit would be there to explain things to them.

"Can you go and check on the other disciples?"

The Iron Fist King was the one that asked Lin Fan this question, but it wasn’t as if his reason was purely out of concern for the Heavenly Demon Sect disciples. It seemed like there was something a bit personal about what he was asking for.

Lin Fan, who had seen the illusion that the Iron Fist King faced, could guess what that personal reason was, but he didn’t expose it. Instead, he just gave a simple report of what they had encountered when it came to their fellow disciples before coming to the main part of the Dao Sect ruins.

Hearing this, it seemed like the Iron Fist King did calm down a bit.

At the same time, there was this trace of gratitude that was in his eyes.

Even if Lin Fan didn’t expose it directly, this indirect method did show that he was aware of a few things. But since he was doing it for the Iron Fist King’s sake, it wasn’t as if the Iron Fist King was going to hold this against him.

After he finished explaining, Lin Fan wasted no time heading back to the outer part of the Dao Sect ruins.

When he came out, he could tell that there was something different.

"My control over the mist array..." Lin Fan couldn’t help muttering to himself.

As he stared at the mist array around him, he found that the area that he could control was much greater than before. It wasn’t just a tiny bit bigger, it was almost five times as wide as before.

After thinking about it for a bit, Lin Fan figured out what the reason for this was.

"So I did obtain a bit of the authority in the inner part."

This was something that he had already guessed with the way that the elders of the law enforcement pavilion treated him. However, there was nothing that confirmed this better than how much he could control the mist array.

After all, the mist array had a very special meaning in these Dao Sect ruins.

With his control of the mist array, it didn’t matter that he didn’t have Xiao Mu here to guide him. He was able to see through the mist array and figure out the direction that he should be heading in all on his own.

In fact, it almost felt like there was nothing that could stop him in these Dao Sect ruins.

"Where do we go now?"

Lin Fan couldn’t help shaking his head with a faint smile as he stood behind this group that he found.

This was a group of disciples from the righteous sect, but they didn’t notice him at all with his control of the mist array. It didn’t matter that he was standing this close, they wouldn’t be able to find him as long as he didn’t want them to find him.

This was all because he could use the mist array to hide himself.

At this point, it really was hard to imagine if any of the disciples in the outer part of the Dao Sect ruins would even be able to do anything to him. As long as he wanted, they wouldn’t even be able to see a single trace of him.

But it wasn’t as if Lin Fan was here to make things hard for these disciples from the other sects. Or at least it wasn’t something that he was here to do personally, he would leave that to someone else to take care of.

Once he confirmed his control over the mist array, Lin Fan went to find the members of his faction that he had left behind.

The first thing that he did was look for the ones that were in the alchemy hall.

Though he didn’t directly interact with them and used the mist array to hide himself to watch over them. It wasn’t as if he was close enough that he would actually trust them fully yet.

As expected, there were at least half of them that left this place.

Even if they had been recruited, it wasn’t as if they were loyal to the faction yet.

So it was only natural that some of them would leave this place to try and find their own fortune.

The ones that remained took full advantage of this place to rest up and they were even working with each other to share the things that they found in these Dao Sect ruins. They knew that if they wanted to do anything here, they had to become stronger.

The best way to do that was to use the things that came from these Dao Sect ruins.

"It seems like there were a few more that were worth training."

Lin Fan took note of the ones that were leading this group and made sure to bring something back for them later. They would be the ones that would help lead the faction when he was away from the Heavenly Demon Sect.

Once he had finished checking in on them, he went to take care of his promise to the Iron Fist King.

Though before he even arrived, he was surprised to find Han Ba walking around.

It seemed like Han Ba was almost looking for something with the way that he was walking around like this. But in the end, he wasn’t able to find what he wanted since there was that mist array around him.

He had even left behind the other two that should have been with him.

After thinking about it, Lin Fan decided to follow behind Han Ba to see what he was planning to do.

It was only when Han Ba met another group that he finally understood what Han Ba was looking for.

"Stop hitting!"

Though they had surrendered, it didn’t seem like Han Ba was about to stop as his fists were still raised. It seemed like he wanted to beat them until they were a pulp with how he continued raining down blows on them.

In the end, there was this disappointed look that appeared on Han Ba’s face.

"It seems like he’s gained quite a bit from training with the dummies."

If that was the case, then it seemed like it was possible for Han Ba to create the commotion that Lin Fan was planning on having him create.

"Where did he go?"

None of them had seen how Han Ba disappeared, the only thing that they knew was that he suddenly disappeared.

"Who are you?" As Han Ba said this, there was this fist that came right at Lin Fan’s face.

But it wasn’t as if Han Ba could hit Lin Fan in the end.

If he was going to grab Han Ba, it was only natural that he would have prepared for Han Ba to do this.

"Eh? It’s you?"

Han Ba was caught off guard seeing that it was Lin Fan, but he was even more surprised by how easily Lin Fan had stopped his fist. After all, he thought that he had gotten stronger, so Lin Fan would at least suffer a bit in front of his fist.
