Chapter 1573: Are you trying to overload it?

As he stood at the entrance of the trial, Lin Fan couldn’t help feeling confused.

Normally there would have been some kind of reward for passing this trial, but this time there was nothing here at all.

Though thinking about what kind of place this was, the reward should be what was gained from passing the illusions. This was a place that was made for training one’s mind, so the benefit was the resistance that they would gain.

It was just that this wasn’t what Lin Fan was looking for.

Looking at the entrance like this, he finally said with a sigh, "I guess I’ll have to go in a second time."

Though he didn’t know what to expect from going in a second time, he couldn’t just leave the ones that were trapped inside behind.

When he stepped in, there was a wry smile that appeared on Lin Fan’s face.

After all, the illusions that appeared in front of him were a bit familiar. Or rather, they were the exact same as last time.

Seeing these bullies again, he didn’t have any fear at all. Instead, the wry smile on his face soon became one that was filled with joy as he raised his fists.

"What are you doing?"

"This illusion is quite realistic, they can even react to this."

Though they reacted, it wasn’t as if he was going to stop just because they were reacting. Instead, it actually made it even more fun for Lin Fan knowing that they could have a reaction to what he was going to do.

Since they could react, it meant that he would be able to take a bit of revenge.

However, it was a bit hard controlling his strength against those former bullies of his. It wasn’t as if they were strong enough to take a single one of his normal punches, so he had to hold back as much as possible not to shatter the illusion.

"Please stop hitting."

"I give up! I give up!"

"Mom, save me!"

There was a sense of joy that came from beating up on these bullies that had once picked on him, but that sensation quickly disappeared. After all, it wasn’t as if it was that interesting to pick on people that were far beneath him.

With his current cultivation, it was like an adult picking on a bunch of children.

It was only natural that Lin Fan would lose interest in this even if they had once been a source of trauma for him.

So in the end, he shattered them with a single punch.

Even if he was going to end the illusion, it wasn’t as if he was going to end it that easily for the bullies. It was a petty bit of revenge that he was taking on them by shattering them to a pulp like this.

After breaking free from the illusion, Lin Fan didn’t head to the next room right away.

Instead, he started looking over this same room as he tried to find something related to what he was looking for. He was hoping that he would find something that would allow him to release the illusion array in this place.

"There’s still nothing." Lin Fan said with a sigh before heading to the next room.

In this second room, he didn’t hesitate at all to shatter the illusion with his full force. Though this time, it was different since it wasn’t as if he held any grudge against the ones that were in the illusion.

Instead, he released his power in a way that shattered everything but the ones that appeared in the illusion.

As he did so, he couldn’t help taking one last look at the couple that was left behind as the world around him collapsed. It was completely impossible for him to forget about everything that happened in his past life after all.

"Let’s take a look." Lin Fan slowly said to himself, almost as if he was even convincing himself of something.

But when he did, he found that there was something strange about the Iron Fist King.

He couldn’t help looking closely at the Iron Fist King’s expression.

"His expression is different."

It was very faint, but Lin Fan could tell that the Iron Fist King’s expression seemed to relax a bit. It was almost as if he was no longer in the same distress as he was in previously.

But this only lasted for a bit before it seemed like the Iron Fist King fell for the same thing as before.

Once the Iron Fist King’s expression returned to normal, Lin Fan tried to replicate it by using his spiritual energy again. It was just that no matter how he tried, he wasn’t able to achieve the same thing again.

"It’s related to the illusion array. It only works when I’m under the illusion."

This wasn’t that hard to figure out, but he still needed to be under the illusion to test it.

Which was why he went into the third room without any hesitation. However, he didn’t do the same thing where he overloaded the illusion.

Instead, Lin Fan just calmly destroyed the illusion that appeared.

When he came out, he saw the same elders that were standing there who were the reason why he didn’t use his full power to destroy the illusion. After all, the ones that he wanted to bring out were the Iron Fist King and the other two that should have been here.

But he was glad to see that those two figures were missing.

It seemed like the two of them had passed the illusion in this place and moved onto the next room.

Which was why Lin Fan didn’t hesitate at all to move into the next room.

As soon as he did, he overloaded the illusion once more and saw that the two of them were here. They had passed through the third room and were currently stuck in this fourth room.

From the looks on their faces, he could easily tell that they were still trapped inside of the illusions. It was just that like the Iron Fist King, the expressions on their faces seemed to relax a bit because of what he did.

Only they didn’t come out of the illusions in the end.

"So it wasn’t enough power." Lin Fan had used just his pure spiritual energy alone since he wasn’t certain about if this method would work or not. But now that he had confirmed that this method was effective, the only thing that was left to do was for him to figure out how to use more power.

It was quite easy since all he would have to do is use his actual abilities.

Using techniques would maximize the power of the spiritual energy.

Which was what he tested in the fifth room as he shattered the illusion with all his strength this time. However, there wasn’t anything that was here for him to actually judge how effective this was since the fifth room was empty.

So in the end, Lin Fan entered the trial once more.

This time, he didn’t play with the bullies in the first room as he directly charged his way through. He also didn’t test his method in the second room since it would be hard for him to avoid the illusions of his parents with this method.

Once he was in the fourth room, that was when he suddenly exploded with this method.

After the illusion shattered, he could see that there were traces of clarity that were in the eyes of Ye Qing Huan and Xiao Mu.

They hadn’t fully cleared, but he could tell that the effects of the illusion were weakening on them. It seemed like it was just a matter of time before they were able to make it out of the illusion array.

"So a few more times?" A faint smile appeared on his face as he said this, but Lin Fan didn’t waste any time as he continued through the fourth and fifth room to enter this place once more.

It was just that before he could release his attack once more in the fourth room, there was a voice that said, "Stop, stop! Are you trying to destroy this place! You’re going to overload it!"

Lin Fan was caught off guard hearing this, but he didn’t stop his attack just because of this. Though in the end, there wasn’t anything for him to use that attack on as the illusion that had been around him disappeared without a trace.

It seemed like the illusion array released him on its own.

If that was the case, then the one that had spoken to him just now should be...

"Why are you doing this?" The voice rang out again, but Lin Fan just completely ignored it as he looked around. He had also taken the token out to see if he could use it to find whatever it was that this voice came from.

He didn’t find anything in the end, though it was better to say that it was because the source of the voice came out on its own. It appeared in front of him and showed itself to him.

It was a small figure that started gathering in front of him, almost looking like a kid.

When it finished gathering, its appearance was revealed and it was indeed a young kid that was wearing a small red apron.

After it appeared, this young boy came right up in front of Lin Fan and pointed a finger at him as he said, "Why are you trying to harm me?"
