Chapter 1312: Before the fight

Before the fight could start, there were things that had to be prepared.

After all, these were established factions in the Heavenly Demon Sect.

They were factions that had long gathered plenty of power in the Heavenly Demon Sect, so there was a lot that was at their disposal.

As long as they wanted, it would be easy for them to set up traps for Lin Fan and Han Ba. So that was why Lin Fan had to use the power that he controlled to set things up so that the situation would be favourable to them.

But before that could happen…

“I need to leave for a bit to handle some matters. I’ll be back soon.”

Han Ba was confused when he heard this, but he knew that Lin Fan wouldn’t say something like this for no reason.

“Go and do what you need to do. I’ll go into closed door cultivation during this time and we’ll take them down when you come back.”

Lin Fan raised his hand and Han Ba hit it with his own fist.

Though Han Ba had never done this before, he instinctively knew what Lin Fan was trying to do with this.

They hadn’t spent much time together, but Han Ba and Lin Fan had already created a connection between them that didn’t need words.

After parting ways with Han Ba, Lin Fan followed the messenger that was sent to him to the same mountain as before.

Waiting for him was the Heavenly Demon.

When he arrived at the hut, the messenger flew off his shoulder and went over to the Heavenly Demon who was waiting with a handful of seeds that he fed that messenger.

This was the first time that Lin Fan had been summoned by a small chickadee, but it was certainly memorable.

“What do I need to do?” Lin Fan asked as soon as he arrived.

He naturally knew why the Heavenly Demon called him since this was something that he had already discussed with the Heavenly Demon previously. It was just that the Heavenly Demon had some things that he had to prepare before calling Lin Fan to help.

The Heavenly Demon gave a nod of approval before waving for Lin Fan to follow him.

When he came here last time, he didn’t really get to see much of this place since Ye Qing Huan only brought him to this hut and nowhere else.

Now that the Heavenly Demon was leading the way, Lin Fan was able to see even more of this place.

He found that this mountain wasn’t as simple as he thought it was the first time that he was here.

It was just that the bottom part of the mountain was simple.

Once he moved past a certain point, this place turned out to be much more special than he thought. Even without his Appraisal Eyes, he was able to recognize a lot of the stuff that was here.

It seemed that the Heavenly Demon was quite shrewd when it came to hiding the things that he cared about.

He hid it in such a way that no one would be able to find what he wanted to hide.

Still that didn’t matter to Lin Fan.

After all, even if he wanted to take stuff from this place, it would have been impossible for him to actually take anything.

To try and take stuff from the Heavenly Demon, that was no different from seeking death. At the same time, it wouldn’t have been right since he was Ye Qing Huan’s master.

They were technically on the same side.

After following the Heavenly Demon for a bit, they arrived at a cave that didn’t seem like anything special. This seemed like a normal cave based on the appearance of it alone, but Lin Fan could sense that there was something strange about this place.

There was something that seemed to be blocking every sense that he had.

It was some kind of barrier, but this was not a barrier that Lin Fan had experienced before.

Though it wasn’t as if it was strange that the Heavenly Demon would have something like this. He was the Heavenly Demon of the Heavenly Demon Sect, the things that he had access to were things that Lin Fan could only imagine.

“Don’t worry, there’s nothing dangerous in there.” The Heavenly Demon said with a smile.

Lin Fan wasn’t actually worried, it was just that he was a bit disorientated by the feeling that this barrier gave him.

Still, he gave a nod in response and started moving towards that cave.

Once he walked through the threshold, he couldn’t help being taken aback again.

Only this time, it wasn’t because there was no sensation at all.

This time, it was because there was too intense of a sensation that was coming from in front of him. The moment that he walked in, it was as if Lin Fan was being hit with a wall of spiritual energy.

However, he could tell that this wasn’t natural spiritual energy.

This was spiritual energy that was being released by the thing that was being kept inside of this cave.

Not only that, Lin Fan could tell that the barrier of this place actually sealed up all of that spiritual energy which made the impact even greater.

It was no wonder none of his senses were able to detect anything through the barrier.

It was even strong enough that it was able to trap all of this spiritual energy, so it wasn’t hard to imagine just how powerful this barrier was.

There was a part of Lin Fan that even started wondering where the Heavenly Demon even got something like this.

When he came back to his senses, Lin Fan continued further into the cave towards the source of the spiritual energy.

Even though this was a cave, there was something that seemed to be lighting this place up. Lin Fan could tell that it had to be some kind of special light source since he didn’t see where it was at all, but it was able to light up the whole cave still.

Once he went far enough in, Lin Fan understood why there was all of this spiritual energy in the air.

Even without using his Appraisal Eyes, Lin Fan could tell that none of these things were special even if he didn’t recognize them. He could see all of the effort that the Heavenly Demon had put in to help his disciple.

Since the Heavenly Demon was going all out like this, there was no reason for Lin Fan to hold back. After all, that disciple of the Heavenly Demon was someone that he was romantically involved with.

Why would he hold back when it came to things that would help Ye Qing Huan?

“Alright, you’ve seen what we have to work with. Now that you’ve mentally prepared yourself, all that’s left is to get to work.” The Heavenly Demon said all of a sudden after waiting for a bit.

A wry smile appeared on Lin Fan’s face when he heard this, but he still gave a nod and said, “What do you need me to do?”

The Heavenly Demon didn’t answer at first as he looked at Lin Fan with a strange look. The way that the Heavenly Demon looked at Lin Fan made him feel a bit uncomfortable, but he didn’t say anything as he waited for the Heavenly Demon to finish whatever he was doing.

When the Heavenly Demon finally spoke, he asked a question that Lin Fan didn’t expect to be asked.

“Since you can generate pure metal energy from just absorbing that bit of the Source Metal, then you should also be able to generate other kinds of pure elemental energy right? After all, you’ve already completed that physique of yours.”

Lin Fan looked at the Heavenly Demon with a confused look when he was asked this, but he still gave a nod and said, “That’s right, I can bring out other forms of pure elemental energy as well.”

Then to demonstrate, he summoned the Clear Water.

This was something that he had demonstrated plenty of times before, so it wasn’t as if Lin Fan was afraid to show this.

Though when the Heavenly Demon saw this, the smile that he suddenly revealed was not something that Lin Fan was happy to see.

The way that the Heavenly Demon was looking at him, it wasn’t something that Lin Fan wanted to see.

It was almost as if he was looking at Lin Fan as if he was looking at some kind of product.

It really seemed like there was something that the Heavenly Demon wanted to use Lin Fan for something.

“Alright, it seems like we’ll be quite busy. Since you can provide the pure elemental energy, then there’s plenty that you’ll be able to help with.”

Even the way that the Heavenly Demon said this was as if he was treating Lin Fan like he was some kind of tool. Or it was better to say that he viewed Lin Fan as some kind of battery for pure elemental energy.

Still, this was all for Ye Qing Huan…

“Alright, then I’ll count on you to guide me then.” Lin Fan slowly said in response.

The Heavenly Demon just said with a nod, “Leave it to me. I’ll take care of most of the things that need to be done and you can just wait until I need you.”

Then he added, “If you’re smart, you’ll watch carefully since there’s a lot that you can learn from this.”

Lin Fan narrowed his eyes before giving a nod in response.
