Chapter 1311: Others starting to move
Chapter 1311: Others starting to move
“So they want to meet with us, but they’re calling us to see them. It really doesn’t seem fair.” Lin Fan said in a casual tone.
“They are our seniors after all, so we should show them this respect.” Han Ba said this, but the expression on his face showed what he was really thinking.
It wasn’t strange that Han Ba would know what their real intentions were.
He had been in the Heavenly Demon Sect for a long time, so he knew how things worked here.
Even if Senior Brother Yu didn’t have that much power, what he had established could still be considered a faction among the disciples.
After what Lin Fan and Han Ba did, it could be said that they had disrupted the balance of the Heavenly Demon Sect.
That was why all of the other factions moved.
On the surface, it just seemed like a bunch of caring seniors inviting their juniors to have a talk with them. It seemed like they were planning to give some advice to their juniors.
Only this advice wasn’t the nice kind of advice.
If one were to look at it from a different angle, it was clear that they were trying to teach these two a lesson. And that was the real reason that these seniors had even called Lin Fan and Han Ba in the first place.
Han Ba didn’t have anything else to say about this, so there was nothing that Lin Fan could say. Though in the first place, Han Ba was someone that isolated himself most of the time for closed door training, so it wasn’t as if he would have been able to get much information from him to begin with.
In fact, Lin Fan already had information on all of these seniors since he had received this information from Ye Qing Huan and his two subordinates.
Yan Tian Ta and Hong Xi were respected members of the Heavenly Demon Sect that served directly under one of the Eight Kings, so there was a lot that they had access to.
Getting this kind of information was just child’s play for them.
Though the information that Ye Qing Huan got him in the end was actually more detailed than what those two got him.
It was just the privilege of being the disciple of the Heavenly Demon in the end…
When they arrived, they found that everyone was waiting for them.
Lin Fan recognized all of the faces that were sitting there in front of the two of them, but there were a few that were missing. The ones that were here represented only a few of the factions that were in the Heavenly Demon Sect.
There were around ten factions and only half of them were being represented today.
The ones that were being represented were even considered the weakest among all of the factions that were in the Heavenly Demon Sect.
But even if they were considered among the weakest of the Heavenly Demon Sect, that didn’t mean that they were weak. They were still a faction that had etched out a place for themselves among the countless disciples of the Heavenly Demon Sect.
So all of their members had a certain level of power to do something like that.
“Senior Brothers, it’s been a long time.” Han Ba said as if he recognized them.
Lin Fan realized a mistake that he had made.
He was under the misconception that Han Ba had completely isolated himself, but that was impossible. Even if he did closed door cultivation most of the time, it wasn’t as if he completely isolated himself away from the rest of the sect.
At the very least, he would have met some of the other core disciples.
At the same time, he would have gotten to know them since they were all core disciples.
But what Han Ba said next wasn’t what Lin Fan had expected.
“Now it seems like you’ve been going on a bit of a rampage. I hope that you will stop that since it won’t be any good for all of us if this continues.” The one that spoke for the rest was actually the leader of the weakest faction here.
It seemed that they were allowing him to speak for the rest of them because he was the weakest, so he was being pushed forward. It wasn’t that they actually respected or feared him, it was that he was being used by them.
“Senior Brother Song, don’t worry. There’s no need for me to keep fighting those that are weaker than me.”
Though it didn’t seem like they were happy to hear the way that Han Ba put this, it seemed that they at least accepted that he would stop doing what he was doing.
After all, the factions were connected to the different parts of the Heavenly Demon Sect.
Among the inner sect and outer sect disciples that Han Ba beat up, there was no doubt that there would be one or two connections to their own factions. So if they were to sit back and let him continue his rampage, then it would be bad for their factions.
Though what Han Ba said next wasn’t what they had been expecting to hear.
“Instead of fighting those that are weaker than me, it would be better for me to spar with those that are at the same level.” As he said this, Han Ba looked at the seniors in front of him with a challenging look in his eyes.
It was as if he was challenging them to a fight with how he looked at them.
The senior brothers and sisters couldn’t help narrowing their eyes to look at Han Ba.
At the same time, there were confused looks that appeared in their eyes since they had never seen Han Ba like this before. The Han Ba that they knew was someone who kept to himself and didn’t cause any trouble.
This Han Ba that was aggressive and choosing to fight them like this was an unfamiliar scene.
But since Han Ba was challenging them…it wasn’t as if they could just back down or else it wouldn’t be good for their image.
Instead of addressing Han Ba’s aggression, they first chose to look at Lin Fan before asking, “Junior Brother Lin, it seems like you’ve been caught up in something troublesome. You shouldn’t worry about Junior Brother Han’s matters, you’ve done more than enough for him.”
Han Ba alone was already troublesome for them to deal with.
If they had to deal with Lin Fan as well, then it would mean twice the trouble.
Lin Fan might be the newest core disciple, but the things that he had done after arriving at the Heavenly Demon Sect were more than enough to make some people wary of him.
If they could, they wouldn’t want to start any trouble with him.
But Lin Fan had already made up his mind.
It wasn’t as if they would be able to scare him now since he had already made up his mind to contend with the existing factions. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be possible for him to form his own faction since they wouldn’t allow him to take their resources.
There were only so many resources to go around.
With a smile, Lin Fan said, “I’ve agreed to guide Senior Brother Han around and that’s what I’m doing. I don’t think that I’m doing anything wrong.”
As soon as his voice fell, all of the seniors narrowed their eyes to look at him as if they were pressuring him. It was just that Lin Fan looked back at them with the same smile on his face as if he wasn’t bothered by this at all.
The only thing that they could do was say, “Don’t make the wrong decision.”
Still, Lin Fan looked right back at them with the same smile.
Since it seemed like there was nothing that they could do, they had no choice but to let Lin Fan and Han Ba go.
Though it really seemed like Han Ba wanted to fight then and there.
Lin Fan stopped him since he knew that this wasn’t the right place for this fight.
After all, they were still currently in the territory of these seniors and there was no telling what they would have done.
This was a demonic sect, so there were all kinds of tricks that these seniors could have played and Lin Fan wasn’t willing to take this risk. It was better to leave things as they were and prepare for the fight that would come.
Once they were out of there, Han Ba said, “You don’t have to do this.”
Lin Fan wasn’t surprised to hear Han Ba say this after getting to know him.
Han Ba really didn’t have a personality that was suited for a demonic sect like the Heavenly Demon Sect.
However, that didn’t mean that his personality wasn’t compatible with Lin Fan.
Lin Fan preferred someone like Han Ba over all of those seniors that he had just met.
Those seniors were like snakes while Han Ba was like a dog.
If Han Ba were to betray him, then he would know that Han Ba was betraying him.
If those seniors betrayed him, he wouldn’t know about it even if there was a knife in his back.
“Don’t worry about it. This is something that I’ve been planning for a long time, so I’m not going to back down now.” Lin Fan said in a confident voice.
Han Ba gave a nod without saying anything else.
But Lin Fan could see the excited look that was in his eyes.
He had really turned into a battle junkie after everything that happened.
