Chapter 1308: Going on a rampage
Chapter 1308: Going on a rampage
“Who are you and why are you challenging us?”
“It’s just a simple spar. I don’t think that it’s really a challenge.”
There were wry looks on the faces of the ones that were lying on the ground.
After all, to them, it had been a one sided beating.
They hadn’t been able to do anything against this person that had suddenly come to their headquarters and challenged them like this.
Since they couldn’t do anything to this person, the only thing that they could do was turn to the one that came with this person.
“Senior Brother Lin, can you please mediate?”
Lin Fan had been standing on the side watching everything as it happened, not saying a single thing and certainly not getting involved.
But now that he had been called out like this…
“I’m sorry, I’m just here as a guide. I’m not really involved in this.”
The bitterness on their faces became even stronger when they heard this, especially since Lin Fan had completely shattered all hopes of them mediating the situation.
So the only thing that they could do was…
“Fine, we’re going all out!”
That was the last thing that they said before hitting the ground.
Even if they did try going all out, it wasn’t as if they were strong enough to beat this person that was attacking them.
In the end, Han Ba even said in a disappointed voice, “They weren’t as strong as I expected them to be.”
Lin Fan revealed a faint smile when he heard this, but he didn’t say anything to Han Ba.
Instead, he said to the people that were on the ground, “This is the disciple of the Iron Fist King, Han Ba. He came here today as part of his training to see if he could gain any new breakthroughs through sparring with all of you. I hope that you don’t mind this.”
Even more bitter looks appeared on the faces of the ones that were on the ground.
However, there wasn’t a single one of them that actually made a complaint about this now that they knew Han Ba’s identity. Since he was the disciple of one of the Eight Kings, that meant that he was a core disciple.
This was one of the gathering places of the Heavenly Demon Sect.
Or it was better to say that this was a kind of club for disciples to come together to exchange mutual benefits. It was kind of like an extracurricular club for the Heavenly Demon Sect.
Though it certainly wasn’t as tame as that.
However, the ones that gathered here were only outer sect disciples. There were a few inner sect disciples that were also here, but they still couldn’t compare to a core disciple.
So that was why they had no choice but to accept that Han Ba had beaten them up and even smile because of it.
They wanted to get closer to Han Ba since he was a core disciple, only this was the kind of thing that Han Ba disliked. So even though they tried to get closer to him, they weren’t actually able to get anything out of him.
Once Han Ba was finished beating them all up, he left with Lin Fan.
When it was just the two of them, Han Ba suddenly asked, “Was there any meaning in doing that?”
Lin Fan looked at him with a smile before saying, “Of course there is. You got to train against people that you normally wouldn’t train with. Don’t you feel like you’ve gained something from this?”
Han Ba just shook his head in response.
However, Lin Fan said, “Look closely and you’ll see that there is a change. This is a new experience for you since you’ve always been training alone. This is the first time that you’ve actually fought with so many people at once, right?”
Han Ba slightly knitted his brows when he heard this before looking down at his hands.
After a while, he gave a slow nod in response to this.
However, it was clear that there was still hesitation that was in this nod as if he felt that there was something that wasn’t right about all of this. It was as if there was something wrong with what Lin Fan said, but he couldn’t put his finger on it.
Lin Fan didn’t mind this as he said, “Come on, let’s go to the next place.”
Han Ba still had some doubt in his eyes, but he still followed Lin Fan in the end.
After all, he had already agreed to what Lin Fan had said previously and would follow him until the end of this plan.
The plan was to establish Han Ba’s fame.
From what Lin Fan had learned, he knew that Han Ba was someone that didn’t have any fame among the other Heavenly Demon Sect disciples.
So that was why Lin Fan was planning to establish his fame right now through all of these sparring matches.
Through these matches, it would be more than enough to establish the power that Han Ba possessed in the minds of these disciples.
Then once that was done, he would be able to establish a new faction with Han Ba.
Lin Fan had planned on establishing a faction on his own, but he knew that it would take him a while to do something like this. It would take too long for him to do this all on his own, which was why he wanted to do it with Han Ba.
Han Ba was just going along with him since he was excited about having Lin Fan as his first friend.
But that alone wouldn’t have been enough to convince him.
Han Ba had sharp instincts and he knew that Lin Fan wasn’t just using him to establish his faction. He knew that Lin Fan was planning to establish a faction that both of them would be able to benefit from.
What Lin Fan was offering was a partnership.
So that was why Han Ba went along with him.
Though beating up all of these weaker opponents wasn’t exactly something that he enjoyed doing.
Eventually, Han Ba noticed something.
“You were right…”
Lin Fan revealed a faint smile when he heard this.
He wasn’t actually surprised to hear Han Ba say this since he already knew that he was right. This was the second reason that he had Han Ba fight all of those other disciples.
Lin Fan had something that no one else had, which was his Appraisal Eyes.
Since Han Ba trusted him, he was able to use his Appraisal Eyes on him and find out what Han Ba’s problem was. After all, Han Ba wouldn’t have asked for an herb that made him weaker unless there was a problem.
“It’s experience. You were lacking proper experience, which was why you weren’t able to reach a limit and break through.”
Han Ba looked at Lin Fan with a strange look, but Lin Fan could see that there was a trace of admiration in his eyes as he looked at him.
It was only natural that he would look at him like this since he had solved a problem for him that he hadn’t been able to solve himself. Though Lin Fan knew that the reason why he hadn’t been able to was because his master had kept it from him.
If the Iron Fist King wanted to help him, it would have been easy for him to do so.
But the Iron Fist King didn’t actually help him.
It wasn’t that the Iron Fist King disliked his disciple, it was just that he had high expectations which was why he wanted him to figure it out on his own.
So it could be said that Lin Fan had ruined this plan by helping Han Ba.
But for now, Lin Fan didn’t think about this.
He would just leave this matter to handle later.
Once Han Ba had learned what his mistake was, he no longer hesitated as he continued fighting against more and more people.
“Bring more men!” Han Ba said as he tossed the ones that he was currently fighting through the air.
When they saw him like this, everyone couldn’t help looking at him with eyes that were filled with fear.
This kind of fear was the kind that would be remembered, so there was no doubt that he would be able to establish his reputation with this. Though the reputation that he would be establishing through this would be considered a bad one.
When they thought of Han Ba in the future, they would only remember the beating that they and so many others received.
But Han Ba didn’t actually care about this.
In fact, this was the kind of reputation that he wanted since he didn’t want people bothering him all the time. Since there were just too many people that bothered him once they found out his identity as they tried to suck up to him.
With this reputation, it would make it much harder for them to do that.
As for Lin Fan, Han Ba would become the bad cop of his faction.
There were things that were easier to do with good cop and bad cop.
Lin Fan had already established his reputation as a good and generous person, so it would be hard for him to ruin that.
That was why he needed someone to act as a bad cop.
Han Ba was the perfect choice for this, which was why he was helping him establish this reputation.
But there were snags along the way…
