Chapter 1199: Real adventure
Chapter 1199: Real adventure
“If you really want to go on an adventure, there is a place for you to go.”
Lin Fan was caught off guard since the person that said this wasn’t one that he expected to actually say something like this.
When he looked at Haku, there was a confused look on his face as he slowly asked, “What are you hoping to get out of this?”
Haku didn’t seem offended even though she normally would have.
Instead, with a calm look on her face, she said, “Why are you assuming that I want to get something out of this?”
Lin Fan didn’t say anything in response, but the expression on his face was more than enough to show what he was thinking. At the same time, it wasn’t just Lin Fan alone who was looking at Haku like this.
The others in the room all looked at Haku with the same expression on their faces.
Haku still didn’t seem fazed at all as she calmly said, “Alright, maybe I do have something to get out of this.”
With everyone looking at her like this, she said, “While you’re gone, you’ll need someone to help you look after Rokuko, won’t you?”
Though this wasn’t something that anyone would have brought up, she still brought it up. That was because it was clear that there was only one thing that was on her mind when she said this.
If Haku wasn’t a woman, then Lin Fan would have thought that this was some kind of NTR plot…
No, even if Haku was a woman…
At the very least, she was still treating Rokuko as a little sister and didn’t cross the line. But sometimes the way that Haku acted really made Lin Fan think that it wasn’t as simple as sisterly love…
Seeing the way that everyone looked at her, Haku just said in a curt voice, “Do you want to go on an adventure or not?”
A wry smile appeared on Lin Fan’s face when he heard this.
But the one that answered wasn’t Lin Fan, rather it was Rokuko that said, “What do you have in mind, big sister?”
She said it in a way that Haku couldn’t resist at all.
With a wide smile, Haku said, “It’s simple. There are places on the continent that aren’t controlled by dungeon cores like in my Laver Kingdom. Those places still have naturally occurring spots filled with an abundance of mana. If you go to those places, there’s no doubt that you’ll be able to find something interesting to explore.”
Lin Fan couldn’t help slightly knitting his brows when he heard this before saying, “But because those places are filled with an abundance of mana, it means that there are dangerous things gathered there, right?”
“That’s right. Or else they wouldn’t be known as taboo zones.” Haku said as if it didn’t matter to her.
That once again made a wry smile appear on Lin Fan’s face before he said, “Are you trying to send me into those dangerous places so that you can take care of me?”
Haku finally looked away from Rokuko and narrowed her eyes to look at Lin Fan after hearing this before saying, “Do you really take me for t
“Yes.” Lin Fan said without hesitation.
Though the others didn’t say anything, everyone that was in this room had a look on their face as if they agreed with what I said. Even Haku’s subordinates seemed to have the same look in their eyes.
Though they were her subordinates, they didn’t kid themselves on what kind of person Haku was.
Haku narrowed her eyes even more when she heard this, but then it seemed like she didn’t want to bother arguing with Lin Fan as she said, “You can do whatever you want. These places that I’m recommending are well known taboo areas of the continent, so you’ll be able to find out about them just by asking around. It’s not as if I’m just sending you out there to die.”
Lin Fan’s expression became strange when he heard this since this really didn’t seem like the normal Haku that he knew.
It was as if someone had replaced the Haku that he knew with someone else…
But still, he couldn’t help feeling that she was right.
If these were real taboo zones of the magic continent, then it would be easy for him to find information on these places. At the same time, it wasn’t as if treasures would ever come without danger.
So if he really wanted to find treasure, it was only natural that he would have to brave danger to get it.
“How are you going to help me get to them?” Lin Fan suddenly asked as he realized that there was something wrong with what Haku said.
“I can represent the Adventurer’s Guild, so it’s easy for me to give you a mission that will send you near those taboo zones. That will give you an easy excuse to pass the borders and head to those taboo zones.”
Lin Fan slowly nodded in agreement when he heard what Haku said.
She was certainly right about this.
With the power that she had as the head of the Adventurer’s Guild, this was something that she could easily arrange. At the same time, it really would be the perfect cover for him to head to those places.
It was just that he didn’t believe that Haku would do something like this…
“I think that what her majesty is trying to say is that she is curious what you’ll be able to find in those places.” Agnus suddenly cut in.
She had been silently standing on the side watching everything, only speaking now out of all time.
Lin Fan couldn’t help looking at Agnus with a strange look after hearing this, but her expression didn’t change. It seemed like she firmly believed what she was saying when she said this.
Lin Fan hesitated a bit longer, but eventually he nodded in agreement to this proposal.
“Where are you going to send me?” He couldn’t help asking in the end.
“I’ll let it be a surprise.” Haku casually said before turning to Rokuko to say, “Help me arrange the best room in your inn for a while. I’ll be staying here with you for a bit to help you run your dungeon. I hope that I’ll be able to get some personal service from the owner, but don’t worry, I’ll pay an extra fee for it.”
The way that she said this was as if this was something that was already set.
Everyone couldn’t help feeling that the way that Haku said this was very smooth.
It was so smooth that no one was able to react to what she even said.
In the end, it was Haku’s subordinates that suddenly said, “Your majesty, you can’t do that!”
“Why not?” Haku asked in a casual tone, but there was the pressure that came from being the ruler of this Laver Empire.
The subordinates didn’t back down as they started giving all kinds of different legitimate reasons.
There were many things that Haku had to do as the empress of the Laver Empire after all. It wasn’t as if she could just toss aside all of these things and do whatever she wanted.
But Haku did just that.
“I’ve already taken care of all the necessary things before coming here. As for the other things, you can simply use one of the doubles to attend those things. There’s no need for me to go personally.”
The subordinates all had ugly expressions on their faces as they knew that they couldn’t actually argue with Haku.
So the only thing that they could do was turn to Rokuko as if they were asking her to help them.
Rokuko was about to say something, but Haku just said, “It’s been a long time since I’ve had a proper vacation. With all the different things that I’ve been busy with, I really can’t find the time to have a rest. Especially after helping with all the matters of the Kalos Empire.”
For once, it was Haku that was playing Rokuko.
Rokuko knew about the things that Haku did for them, especially when it came to the Kalos Empire.
Though she had also done this for the sake of the Laver Empire and for her own benefits, it was a fact that her dealing with the Kalos Empire was helping them…
So Rokuko couldn’t help being swayed by Haku…
Lin Fan just shook his head with a faint smile seeing all of this, but he chose not to get involved.
He knew that once Haku had her eyes set on something, it wasn’t as if she would be that easy to convince. At the same time, it would be reassuring to have Haku here watching over Rokuko just in case something happened.
So it might be good to go along with this.
…
“This place really feels like a place where a real adventure would be waiting.” Lin Fan couldn’t help saying this when he saw the scenery in front of him.
The mist that filled the air, the mana that was there, and the mountains in the distance.
This place seemed like it was filled with mystery and adventure.
In fact, this was what it meant to be an adventurer.
Though others wouldn’t have agreed since this was one of the taboo zones of the magic continent.
This was a place where countless people had already lost their lives, so it wasn’t a place that anyone would approach that easily.
However, it was an adventure in Lin Fan’s eyes.
