Chapter 1198: Adventures in unknown lands

After settling this matter in town, Lin Fan headed off as an adventurer should on an adventure.

But instead of going to the normal places that adventurers gathered, Lin Fan had another goal in mind.

That was because it would be strange for him to visit those places.

The one thing that the Laver Empire didn’t lack was dungeons.

Haku had been able to gather many dungeon cores in her faction all because of the power that she wielded as the empress of the Laver Empire. She was able to provide a place for the dungeons to expand and a way for them to earn DP, so there was no reason for them not to follow her.

But in the cases where there was a dungeon core that spawned in the lands of the Laver Empire, Haku would lead an expedition against it. Since she was the head of the Adventurer’s Guild, it was easy for her to gather forces to raid these dungeons.

Especially since the higher ups of the Adventurer’s Guild were made up of her subordinates in the first place.

So after raiding the dungeons and beating the cores into submission, she would bring them under the fold of the Laver Empire.

The one thing that Haku didn’t do was destroy dungeon cores unless they were dungeon cores that hunted other dungeon cores.

That was the main reason why most dungeon cores surrendered in the end.

Well, other than the fact that she was someone that led a large faction of dungeon cores and they were terrified of her.

So with this abundance of dungeons in the Laver Empire, it meant that there was no lack of dungeons for adventurers to hit.

At the same time, there was plenty of loot that came from those dungeons as per Haku’s plans.

But for Lin Fan, it would be strange for him to raid a dungeon since he was also a dungeon master. It would be like businesses that belonged to the same company stealing business from each other.

It just wouldn’t make sense at all if he were to do this.

At the same time, he didn’t want to see most of these dungeon cores in the first place.

After all, these dungeon cores were all fans of Haku.

After being conquered by her, they had all been converted to the Haku fan club.

But the look on his face wasn’t good as this was the only positive thing that he could say about this place.

Other than the view, there really wasn’t anything else that was special here.

Though the adventurers swarmed this place, the only thing that Lin Fan was able to find were some low level monsters and herbs.

In fact, he could tell that there was a lack of mana in the air.

There was more than other places, but it wasn’t as if it was an abundance of mana. It really seemed like this was just a kind of beginner area with how much mana was concentrated here.

So in the end, there wasn’t anything that he was able to find.

Lin Fan was able to find a few things that some of the newer disciples could use, but most of it was useless to the core disciples of the Love Sect.

As such, Lin Fan could only head to the next place.

When he arrived…

“This certainly is a beautiful lake…” That was the only thing that he could say as he looked at the scenery in front of him.

There were others that were gathered here as well, but it seemed like they were here on vacation with the way that they gathered their stuff from the lake. It really didn’t seem like it was a place where one could have an adventure.

Lin Fan didn’t want to give up, so he dove into the lake with a bubble of air around him.

But when he reached the bottom of the lake, he was disappointed to find that there was nothing there.

There were only a few sea creatures that weren’t even in the Qi Condensation Realm.

So even if he wanted to get something from them, he just wasn’t able to get anything meaningful.

The one thing that he did find was an abundance of pearls and oysters.

It seemed that because of how many people gathered by the lake, there were many different things that would be dropped in the lake. The oysters would swallow these things as they were filtering the lake, which would create these pearls.

Though Lin Fan was surprised that these oysters could survive in this place to begin with.

Oysters that could create pearls were usually saltwater species, so it wasn’t as if they would survive in a freshwater lake like this. But then again, this was a world where there was magic.

It wasn’t as if Lin Fan could judge this place based on the values of his past life…

Still, that didn’t stop him from harvesting some of the pearls that were here.

They were beautiful, so if he were to give them to the girls…

“There’s nothing wrong with a few presents.” Lin Fan said to himself as he gathered these things.

For the third place that he visited…

“There really is nothing here.”

This time, he couldn’t even say something nice about this place since it was just a forest that seemed like it was barren.

There were some things that he saw from time to time that had some value, but they were just too weak for him to use. Still, it wasn’t as if he would give up these things once he found them.

The problem was the same as the other two places.

“Why is there such a lack of mana in all of these places?”

It wasn’t as if there was no mana at all, it was just that the concentration of mana in these places was just too lacking for places that should have had treasures. From what he had heard from the other adventurers, Lin Fan thought that these places would be filled with all kinds of treasures.

But in the end, he was disappointed when he found that there was nothing special about these places.

Thinking about it, it was mostly the lower ranked adventurers that spoke of those places. For those higher ranked adventurers, they didn’t really go to these places since dungeons were far more lucrative for them.

Instead of wasting time searching for things out in the wild, it was easier for them to obtain loot from these places.

Lin Fan was shocked to hear this and a bit confused as he didn’t fully understand what she meant by this.

“My dungeon spreads all over the empire, so I can basically control everything that happens here. As for the parts that I don’t control, those are controlled by the other dungeon cores. Since these places are considered part of our territory, our dungeons naturally absorb the mana to generate DP for us. At the same time, we can decide how much mana we release into these places to generate resources for our people.”

“I thought that you already knew that since you’ve been doing the same thing on your territory. But it seems like you’re more of a fool than I thought you were.” She had a taunting smile on her face as she said this.

Lin Fan’s lips twitched again, but he didn’t say anything in response.

In the end, he just gave a disappointed sigh.

But it didn’t mean that his excursion was a waste of time.

“I think you can use this.” He said as he handed a hand drawn map to Yue Lan and Ming Xin.

They were surprised to see this, but then their eyes lit up when they saw what was on it.

It wasn’t something that could be used for the Love Sect, but rather something that could be given to the Mu Empire’s army. These were normal things, but they were things that weren’t readily available on the cultivation continent.

So there was no doubt that it would help with growing the power of Mu Bao Bao’s Mu Empire.

They didn’t waste any time after receiving this map, they immediately started planning on how they would harvest and bring these resources over so they could start distributing it.
