Chapter 1837: Chapter 1076: I’ve Been Tainted (Part 2)
“Chrono, what are you doing?”
Onora immediately turned her head to scold him, not understanding what on earth this bastard Chrono was up to, why he suddenly started yelling.
She wasn’t concerned about his health at all. After all these years together, she knew exactly what this kid was thinking. The shout just now didn’t sound like he was injured; it even had a hint of deliberately causing a scene.
However, when she actually saw Chrono’s face, she saw a face contorted to the extreme with pain, the features twisted into a grimace.
Really? Why does he look so pained?
“Lady Onora, run! I am being possessed by the Abyss, I can barely control myself!”
Suddenly, black mud began to flow from Chrono’s body. Judging by the aura emanating from the sludge, it was the genuine Abyss!
Huh?
Onora was rarely taken aback.
Chrono was also infected with the Abyss? When did that happen? Could it be happening right now?
But why is he only now showing signs of pain?
The situation in front of her, which made no logical sense, left her momentarily unable to react.
It was at this perfect moment that Chrono made his move.
In the instant the Abyss strengthened him, he charged explosively towards Onora, moving so swiftly that she didn’t even have time to dodge.
He intended to let his beloved elder sister be tainted by the Abyss here!
Determination flashed in Chrono’s eyes.
As long as he pretended to be under the control of the Abyss, all his subsequent actions would be easily explained. Once she becomes like him, she would surely understand!
Whether it was an unspeakable fear brought on by his Abyss infection or other twisted emotions, Chrono was making a decision that was anything but rational.
“Wait—”
Onora didn’t even finish speaking and managed only a hasty dodge before Chrono’s palm landed on her shoulder. She spun one and a half times before tumbling face-first towards the dense Abyss below.
In mid-fall, she regained control of her body.
There are still Mad Fire Cultists lying in ambush ahead, and now you’re pulling this stunt on me?
While those Mad Fire Cultists are definitely amateurs and certainly lack in prowess, they might still—
“Whoosh!”
A streak of Mad Fire cut through the sky, shooting straight into Onora’s eyes.
“——!!!”
At this moment, Onora let out a scream indescribable by any adjective.
The action she took to balance herself completely turned into deformation, and she plunged headlong into the Abyss.
There was no time to feel the intimate contact with the Abyss. She clutched her eyes hard, screaming and rolling uncontrollably.
Chrono was utterly stunned, a look of helpless panic appeared on his face.
“Ahhhhh!!!”
Pain, anger, remorse, grief, rage, fear…
It’s hard to imagine hearing such rich emotions from Onora’s screams.
The entire Fran Fort, no, the entire settlement probably heard this horrific scream, and to those unaware, it sounded as if some horrible monster had awakened.
“On…Onora, are you okay?”
Chrono panicked instantly, the feigned pain vanished without a trace, leaving only his helpless anxiety at having caused trouble.
“Get lost!”
Without warning, Onora swung a fist, instantly exploding Chrono’s head, sending blood and flesh flying.
Looking back, Onora had vanished.
“You all—”
With a roar, she crashed into the forest where the Mad Fire Cultists were lurking.
In an instant, a mass of magic power erupted, pulverizing the surrounding trees and other items to dust, even a few unlucky Mad Fire Cultists included.
Now, the only one left alive was the one she held by the throat… Dorian!
The Sect Hierarch of the Mad Fire God Sect, of all people, appeared here!?
“Dorian!!!”
Onora’s roar scrubbed Dorian’s face to pieces, revealing the red muscle tissue beneath.
But this made the smile on Dorian’s face even more pronounced and eye-catching.
Onora’s eyes were wide open, and from them flowed half bloody tears, half liquid resembling Mad Fire.
“Hahahahaha!”
Seeing this, Dorian let out an especially carefree laugh, as if welcoming the new year in new underwear.
In the instant the laughter floated out, his limbs exploded.
Blasted directly by Onora’s fist.
Why was Dorian here? Why didn’t I detect it was him? Why is he doing this to me? What means should I use to kill him now?
Question after question popped up in her chaotic mind, yet not a single one could be uttered.
The Mad Fire burned in her mind, enough to drive an ordinary person completely insane.
She not only resisted, but the Abyss also flared simultaneously, turning her brain into a boss battle arena for these two mighty forces. The chaotic senses were driving her to the brink of insanity, leaving no room for rational thought.
The only impulse driving her now was to kill every culprit responsible for her current plight!
With a reverse grip, Onora hurled the now incapacitated Dorian into the Abyss, letting this emblem of chaos and disorder engulf his body.
Dorian’s body was covered in ominous black cracks, yet his grin grew madder, shouting:
“Useless, useless! My faith is solid, unbreakable!”
“Even the Abyss cannot shake my faith, hahahaha—”
His laughter pierced Onora’s tormented heart.
“Die!”
Onora’s fist, fully enveloped by the Abyss, slammed into Dorian’s laughing face.
“Boom!”
Everything below Dorian’s nose and above his collarbone vanished instantly.
His life ended along with it. He chose to cease regeneration, thus by Sain Dungeon’s determination, he had died. The dead should return to the bonfire or be expelled.
In the last moments before he was killed, Onora heard his most triumphant laugh.
“Mad Fire God! My mission is complete!”
The world suddenly returned to silence.
Dorian’s body vanished, and Onora lost support, collapsing into the Abyss.
Like a discarded doll, she lay paralyzed in the Abyss, unmoving, a chilling sight to anyone who saw it.
“Onora, are you okay?”
With his head regenerated, Chrono rushed over immediately, wanting to help his beloved sister up.
“Hm!?”
“Pfft—”
The next second, he was pressed into the Abyss.
Onora clutched his neck, her massive strength holding his face firmly against the Abyss.
“Gollum gollum…”
The surface of the Abyss bubbled constantly as Chrono struggled desperately.
He could calmly ignore injuries fatal to ordinary people, but now he was extremely panicked.
The more he struggled, the more Abyss he took in until finally.
“Bang!”
Chrono’s throat exploded.
The Abyss splattered from it, splashing onto Onora’s completely disheartened face.
Chrono’s remains twitched a few times, then ceased all movement.
Onora staggered to her feet, tried walking a few steps, but soon collapsed like a puppet with its strings cut.
She raised her hand in a choppy motion, touching her eyes.
Besides bloody tears, there was the Abyss, and… an unremovable Mad Fire.
“Ahhhhh!!!”
She was no longer pure.
