White Dragon Lord
Chapter 379: Summoning the White Tower!
Though mildly surprised, the White Dragon Lord did not dwell on the lava titan's personality. He considered the current situation: the Raven Council was stirring up trouble in The North, White Castle had seized a coastal bridgehead in the South, and the Titans occupied the vast majority of the Muxinge Plane.
With the Magic Tower Defense System and the Lord of Red Lotus in play, the Titans' defenses were virtually impregnable. Furthermore, the Lord of Red Lotus was backed by an entire world of Titans.
On the offensive front, the Titans could use the teleportation arrays within their Magic Towers to mass a large number of High Tier combatants in a very short time, launching strikes against the White Tower and the Raven Council from multiple directions.
In overall military strength, the Titans held an absolute advantage.
"Without the White Tower, this war is unwinnable," the Ancient Gold Dragon said.
The White Dragon Lord nodded in agreement.
"Then call the White Tower."
The White Dragon Lord immediately transmitted a message to his true body in the Abyss.
Within Blackrock Fortress, the White Dragon Lord's true body opened his eyes and sent a magical transmission to the guest room in the White Tower, reaching the Extreme Cold Witch, Lilith.
Back when he had first decided to strike the Muxinge Plane, the White Dragon Lord had struck a deal with Lilith. The White Tower would provide battlefield support, and the Witches' Council would step in to fill the defensive void left by the Floating Tower's absence.Once every living creature had evacuated its interior, the White Tower rose into the sky and vanished into a black spatial vortex churning in the clouds.
Back in the Muxinge Plane, the monster army watched the base of the White Tower emerge from a black spatial vortex. Their blood boiled with excitement, and an unprecedented sense of security washed over them. The tower's arrival was the ultimate reassurance for the monstrous ranks.
It did not take long for the White Tower to fully descend into the Muxinge Plane. Under the White Dragon Lord's control, it touched down directly atop the severed remains of the Tower of Tides, crushing it—along with a vast swath of surrounding mansions—into powder.
Once the dust settled, the White Dragon Lord entered the White Tower. He stepped into the central control room and placed his dragon claw upon the Control Core.
"Activate the warning ward."
"Authorization accepted."
An invisible pulse of magical energy rippled outward in all directions, using the gemstone at the tower's peak as its epicenter. It swept into the distance, draping an invisible barrier over a ten-thousand-meter radius around the White Tower.
"Massive elemental fluctuation detected three hundred li to the South."
Hearing the Tower Spirit's alert, the White Dragon Lord looked toward the endless ocean in the South. Willy must have finished setting up the Portal; the White Tower was merely sensing the energy spike from its activation.
Sure enough, Willy returned a short while later.
"Brother, the mission is complete. The Portal has been placed on the far side of a strait, and I have ordered the Murlocs to infiltrate the mainland by following the riverways."
"Good work. You may go."
After Willy left, the White Dragon Lord resumed his assessment of the war. The situation in the South was clear, but The North—the region controlled by the Raven Council—remained shrouded in fog.
Out of concern that the Magic Tower Defense System might intercept his magical communications, he had not yet reached out to the Raven Council. But now that the White Tower could encrypt his messages, it was worth a try.
Preferring action over hesitation, the White Dragon Lord grasped the floating White Tower Control Core and tuned it to the Raven Council's communication frequency.
The magic signal was unstable, hampered by interference from the Magic Tower Defense System. The visual projection kept flickering, refusing to stabilize, but the blurry image was still recognizable as the silhouette of Grimos Raven.
"Lord Amos, what is the situation at White Castle?"
Though the audio cut in and out, the White Dragon Lord understood Grimos Raven's words.
"We have secured a passage to the ocean and summoned the White Tower, so our safety is guaranteed. How are things on the Raven Council's end?"
"The Raven Council deployed our Floating Tower right from the start. We used the complex terrain of the Grey Wolf Mountain Range to ambush the surrounding Titan Magic Towers. We were striking the third one when the Lord of Red Lotus appeared. He stopped us."
The White Dragon Lord looked out the window. Four shichen had passed since the invasion began in the dead of night. The moon and stars were setting, leaving the land cloaked in pitch black. They had enough time for one last assault before daybreak.
"Lord Grimos, I have a proposal. At dawn, the moment the first ray of light touches the eastern sky, we strike together. The Lord of Red Lotus will not be able to split his attention to handle us both."
"Agreed. I was thinking the exact same thing."
"As for Red Lotus..."
Just as the White Dragon Lord was about to ask for intelligence on the Lord of Red Lotus, the magical signal grew wildly unstable. The Titans had already detected the anomalous transmission. Unable to immediately crack the Floating Tower's encryption, they had resorted to jamming the signal altogether. The meeting between the White Dragon Lord and Grimos Raven was forced to an early end.
"Damn it!"
The already blurry projection vanished entirely. The White Dragon Lord's expression turned grave. He and Grimos Raven had been talking for less than a minute before the Titans successfully intercepted and blocked the Floating Tower's encrypted signal. That response time was staggeringly fast.
The Ancient Gold Dragon had witnessed the entire exchange from the sidelines.
"Amos, this enemy won't be easy to deal with."
The White Dragon Lord nodded.
"But fortunately, the Raven Council has also summoned their Floating Tower. By using two mobile Floating Towers against stationary Magic Towers, we still hold a certain advantage."
The Magic Tower Defense System was an almost flawless defensive model. To break it, one had to either rely on surprise attacks or steamroll it with absolute power. A Floating Tower piloted by a High-Tier Legend possessed exactly that kind of crushing power.
The White Dragon Lord recalled the map's layout. The two Magic Towers adjacent to the Tower of Tides were the Tower of the Raging Sea and the Cliffside Tower. Like the Tower of Tides, the Tower of the Raging Sea sat by the ocean, while the Cliffside Tower was built atop a mountain peak.
It went without saying that these two Magic Towers would now be the Titans' primary defensive priorities. Forced to choose one, the White Dragon Lord decided to attack the Tower of the Raging Sea; expanding their control over the coastline would grant White Castle a greater strategic edge.
The White Dragon Lord looked out the pitch-black window. They were just over an hour away from dawn. This was the darkest time of the night.
"Willy, stay behind and set up the camp. All other legendary combatants, enter the White Tower."
His magical transmission drilled precisely into the ears of every Legendary Rank entity and above. Three Legendary Dragons and thirteen legendary dependents gathered inside the White Tower, and the White Dragon Lord steered the massive structure into the sky.
Down on the ground, Willy supervised the Mage Corps and the soldiers as they fortified the newly captured city. The Mages laid magical traps outside the walls, Harpies patrolled the skies on high alert, and towering Ogres hauled heavy Magic Crystal Cannons up to the battlements. Gnoll soldiers cleared the rubble, while the Murlocs swam through the ocean to scout the marine environment...
Everything proceeded in perfect order.
...
The White Tower maintained its high-speed flight across the sky. Inside, the legendary powerhouses made their pre-battle preparations. Warriors polished their beloved weapons, magical professionals checked their gear and potion placements, and the Ancient Gold Dragon taught the three Legendary Dragons specific techniques for fighting Titans.
Before long, the White Tower reached the perimeter of the Tower of the Raging Sea. Still cloaked in invisibility, the White Dragon Lord brought the White Tower to a halt and stared at their target in the distance.
The Tower of the Raging Sea was built on a jagged cliff that jutted into the ocean. The waves smashed violently against the sheer rock face, shattering into snow-white foam.
Just as the White Dragon Lord had anticipated, the destruction of the Tower of Tides had put the Titans stationed here on high alert. The energy crystal at the top of the tower had been activated, radiating a brilliant glow like a lighthouse in the dark. By the light of that crystal, squads of Tide Giants could be seen patrolling the grounds around the tower.
The White Dragon Lord kept the invisible White Tower suspended in the air, waiting patiently outside a safe distance for the right moment to strike.
Time passed quickly. The moment the first ray of dawn crested the horizon, the White Dragon Lord's expression turned incredibly serious.
"Prepare!"
The White Dragon Lord pushed the White Tower's speed to its absolute limit, hurtling directly toward the Tower of the Raging Sea.
A Floating Tower possessed a massive advantage over an immobile Magic Tower, but the Magic Tower had its own edge: it only needed to hold out for a short while before reinforcements would arrive.
The White Dragon Lord activated the White Tower's buffing magic, applying the enhancements to everyone inside.
Legendary magic—Power of the Ancient Dragon!
Legendary magic—Blessing of the Elemental Lord!
Legendary magic—Ice Heart Protection!
...
As one legendary magic spell after another layered over them, the combatants lit up with multicolored magical auras. Empowered across all attributes, they immediately began charging their most devastating skills.
This was the gift the White Dragon Lord had prepared for the Tower of the Raging Sea—a torrential storm of an offensive.
Since the White Tower's massive size made it impossible to maintain a traceless high-speed approach, the White Dragon Lord outright stripped away all of its camouflage and flew barefaced toward the enemy tower.
"Moon's Protection!"
A nearly transparent energy shield enveloped the White Tower.
"Activate Ice Armor Cladding!"
The surface of the White Tower was rapidly coated in a layer of magical ice armor, boasting a defensive strength comparable to a Forbidden Spell.
"Begin charging the Metamagic Railgun!"
Energy from the White Tower's Elemental Pools flooded madly into the massive crystal at its peak. Saturated with power, the gem emitted a light that was as beautiful as it was fiercely dangerous.
"..."
Accompanied by the Tower Spirit's chimes, the White Tower activated spell after spell—defensive, offensive, and supportive.
Within ten seconds, the White Tower crossed a distance of over ten thousand meters, arriving just outside the Tower of the Raging Sea. It went from extreme speed to a dead halt in an instant. A multitude of legendary powerhouses flew out through its windows, unleashing their strongest attacks in unison.
The primordial breath weapons of dragons, aura slashes, and high-tier magic—the combined might of thirteen legendary powerhouses, three Legendary Dragons, the Ancient Gold Dragon, and the Metamagic Railgun firing from the White Tower itself all plummeted toward the Tower of the Raging Sea.
The synchronized eruption of their ultimate attacks packed a payload comparable to a mid-scale Forbidden Spell.
The terrifying wave of energy instantly displaced all the surrounding air, creating a massive vacuum. Not even space itself could withstand such high-intensity power; fine, black dimensional rifts fractured the air in the wake of the attack's trajectory.
But unlike the assault on the Tower of Tides, the master of the Tower of the Raging Sea was not only present inside, but was also on constant high alert.
Ten seconds of flight time was not much, but it was enough to do a lot of things. The energy crystal atop the Tower of the Raging Sea fired a gigantic, ocean-blue magical water arrow that slammed into Moon's Protection, shattering into free-floating energy.
Just as the Tower of the Raging Sea fired its second volley, the swarm of powerhouses flew out from the White Tower. The mixed bombardment, rivaling a mid-scale Forbidden Spell, swept forward. The giant water arrow crashed into the incoming barrage mid-flight and—like a single drop of water falling into the sea—was instantly devoured by the terrifying tide of energy without so much as a splash.
The Titans inside the tower stared in sheer terror at the encroaching apocalypse of energy. Panicking, they hurriedly activated the magic scroll they had been holding at the ready.
Forbidden Spell—Throat of the Abyss!
A pitch-black orb of energy the size of a basketball materialized in front of the Tower of the Raging Sea. As it drifted forward, it spun rapidly, expanding in the blink of an eye into a colossal black hole a hundred meters in diameter. Like the maw of the Abyss itself, it devoured everything in its path, from the ambient air to the very elemental particles.
Throat of the Abyss was a versatile Forbidden Spell equipped for both offense and defense, with both functions relying entirely on its gluttonous, world-eating suction. It would only dissipate once it had consumed a sufficient threshold of matter or energy.
The combined assault of the White Tower's elites crashed into the black vortex of the Throat of the Abyss. Energies collided and tore at one another, sparking dense, ionizing silver lightning around the edges of the vortex, flashing like lightning-fast silver snakes.
Overloaded by the sheer volume of energy it was gorging itself on, the aura radiating from the Throat of the Abyss's vortex grew increasingly unstable.
"Not good! It's going to blow!"
The White Dragon Lord threw the White Tower into a rapid reverse retreat.
Like any defensive magic, Throat of the Abyss had an upper limit to what it could endure. Once the consumed energy breached that breaking point, it would violently rupture, just like a balloon pumped with too much air.
Boom!
With a deafening boom, the Throat of the Abyss detonated. A terrifying shockwave of black and red energy swept out in all directions, completely drowning the hastily retreating White Tower.
Highly destructive, high-speed energy particles pelted Moon's Protection, crackling and popping like a brutal hailstorm. The shield's energy reserves depleted at a terrifying rate.
When the dust finally settled, Moon's Protection was left with only forty percent of its energy intact. The White Dragon Lord looked down at the blast zone.
Due to its coastal location, the area hit by the explosion was half land and half ocean. The once-normal coastline looked as though the Creator Himself had taken a massive bite out of it; a huge chunk of earth and seawater had simply ceased to exist.
Driven by fluid dynamics, seawater from the surrounding areas was violently rushing in to fill the depression, yet even that massive influx could not quickly plug the sheer void left behind.
Around the edges of the colossal crater, the once lush and vibrant forest had been reduced to naked, ploughed dirt, littered with shattered tree limbs half-buried in the soil. Further out, a massive expanse of trees had been flattened in a perfectly radial blast pattern, a path of destruction that stretched all the way to the distant Snow-Bathed Mountain Range.
As for the White Dragon Lord's actual target—the Tower of the Raging Sea—its Protective Shield had been shattered by the terrifying energy tide, forcing the physical tower itself to bear the brunt of the shockwave.
Sections of its outer plating had been peeled away, and the massive crystal that once crowned its peak had been blown off to who-knew-where. The entire structure looked utterly battered and miserable.
The White Dragon Lord narrowed his eyes gravely. Miserable as it looked, the Tower of the Raging Sea boasted exceptional structural engineering. Relying solely on the innate durability of the physical tower, it had actually managed to withstand the fallout of the energy tide.
With the tower's shell compromised, the White Dragon Lord could sense the auras of the powerhouses inside. The Titans' auras were stable; clearly, they had not suffered any severe injuries.
Furthermore, he realized that the garrison stationed inside was not just one Titan. It was not even two. There were ten of them!
Recalling the sudden appearance of the Throat of the Abyss, the White Dragon Lord understood. The Lord of Red Lotus had been prepared for this all along.
At that very moment, the Teleportation Platform inside the Tower of the Raging Sea flared with brilliant light. A fiery red silhouette materialized on the dais, flanked by a group of diverse entities of varying colors.
