White Dragon Lord

Chapter 378: Snapping the Tower with One Tail!

With that, Willy pulled out a map and handed it to the White Dragon Lord.

The White Dragon Lord took the map and unrolled it. Seeing the titan magic towers marked with red triangles, he felt highly satisfied.

"Willy, you've done well. This is exactly what we need right now."

His eyes swept rapidly over the map, burning the image into his memory. He returned it to Willy and closed his eyes to consider their current situation.

The Ancient Gold Dragon had killed the titan guarding the Tower of Resounding Winds. Without its master, the remaining miscellaneous soldiers could never fend off a High-Tier Legendary Ancient Gold Dragon. Even if the Tower of Resounding Winds wasn't completely destroyed, it was certainly crippled.

The White Dragon Lord felt satisfied at the thought. Uprooting the Tower of Resounding Winds held immense strategic value; it meant a gap had opened in the Magic Tower Defense System built by the titans, giving the White Tower Army a safe foothold within the Muxinge Plane.

But this success could not be replicated. Now that the titans knew the tower had fallen, they were aware a powerful enemy had entered the plane. They would raise their guard and report to the Lord of Red Lotus.

Thinking of the Magic Tower Defense System's enormous strategic value gave the White Dragon Lord a headache.

The system did far more than simply detect magical fluctuations. A magic tower vastly amplified its defender's combat strength. If an enemy proved too powerful, the defender could use their teleportation array to summon peers stationed at other towers for immediate backup.

If five legendary titans arrived, even a High-Tier legendary powerhouse could do nothing against the tower. If ten legendary titans arrived, a High-Tier Legend would have to retreat three stages. If twenty or more showed up, then a High-Tier Legend would have to seriously consider fleeing, as no one could fight twenty legendary titans simultaneously.

While the White Dragon Lord pondered their next move, the Ancient Gold Dragon returned.

Seeing the joy on the Gold Dragon's face, he knew the Tower of Resounding Winds was gone.

"Amos, the Tower of Resounding Winds is taken care of."

"Well done, senior. How many giants were in the tower?"

"I found eight giants. It's possible some hid or escaped through the teleportation array."

The White Dragon Lord turned to the corpses of the titan and the giants currently surrounded by the flock of dragons. This Storm Titan had brought eight giants along. Adding the giants inside the Mage Tower, he could roughly estimate the personnel assigned to the Tower of Resounding Winds: one legendary titan and about twenty giants guarded each magic tower.

If the other magic towers shared this configuration, then thirty-two magic towers required thirty-two titans. According to their intelligence, the Hand of Blood had forty titans in total. That meant the titans had a mobile reserve of eight legendary titans they could deploy at any time.

If they dispatched just four of those eight, they could combine with the titan already guarding a tower to fend off a single High-Tier legendary powerhouse with the magic tower's help.

The White Dragon Lord's heart grew heavy. It seemed the Lord of Red Lotus had thought carefully when dispatching forty titans to form the Hand of Blood Legion to garrison the plane.

Under the Lord of Red Lotus's design, the Hand of Blood could simultaneously fight two High-Tier legendary powerhouses. Of course, this calculation assumed a foolproof scenario. In an emergency, the Hand of Blood could draft companions from other magic towers. They only needed to hold out long enough for reinforcements from the Sincaro Titan World to arrive.

Having clarified the enemy's strength, the White Dragon Lord assessed his own side's power.

Counting the Raven Council's faction, this invasion force held three High-Tier legendary powerhouses, over thirty legendary powerhouses, and an army of 200,000 professionals. This force was roughly on par with the titans and their Magic Tower Defense System.

Since they lacked the absolute power to crush the enemy, they had to compensate with wisdom.

The White Dragon Lord recalled the map's details. South of the Tower of Resounding Winds' territory stood the Tower of Tides. Further south lay the ocean. North of the Tower of Resounding Winds was the Tower of Evening Flame, and further north was the center of the Muxinge Plane.

Following the design requirements of a Magic Tower Defense System, the main tower of the network surely stood at the center of the plane. It was also highly likely to be the location of the Interplanar Portal.

Remembering the several islands he had seen on the map, the White Dragon Lord formulated a plan.

"Willy, pack up the Portal."

Though he didn't know the White Dragon Lord's plan, Willy chose to trust his older brother unconditionally and dove into the burrow.

The White Dragon Lord turned to the Ancient Gold Dragon.

"Senior, lead the legendary powerhouses in a feint against the Tower of Evening Flame. Pressure the titans until they are forced to draft defenders from other magic towers. Meanwhile, I will lead the army in a surprise attack on the Tower of Tides and open a path to the ocean. As long as we secure access to the sea, we can stand in an invincible position."

The Ancient Gold Dragon thought for a moment and understood the plan. If the Tower of Evening Flame—which led to the main tower—came under attack, the titans would very likely pull the defending titan from the Tower of Tides in the opposite direction to assist in the defense. The White Dragon Lord could seize that opportunity to strike the Tower of Tides and open a route to the sea.

The titans' Magic Tower Defense System did not cover the ocean. Furthermore, the Yafiavi Kingdom was founded upon the sea, and almost all its citizens were skilled in the water. The monster army also included many Murloc powerhouses. As long as they occupied the geographic advantage of the ocean, White Castle could advance to attack or retreat to defend.

"Understood!"

The Ancient Gold Dragon nodded to the White Dragon Lord, then turned toward the army.

"Legendary Rank and above! Follow me!"

The Ancient Gold Dragon flew off with the Legendary Dragons and Legendary Rank dependents. At this time, Willy also emerged from the secret underground cave.

"Willy! March the troops south!"

"Yes!"

Led by Willy, the densely packed monster army surged south.

"Full speed ahead!"

The monster army stampeded through the Ruade Forest. The tremendous noise startled the sleeping birds in the trees, sending flocks taking to the sky in a panic.

The White Dragon Lord frowned. These panicked birds would inevitably expose the army's position.

A moment later, his brow smoothed. He realized that exposure didn't matter; he could simply go ahead and destroy the Tower of Tides first.

After leaving instructions with Willy, the White Dragon Lord turned invisible, took to the sky, and flew toward the Tower of Tides.

Before long, the White Dragon Lord spotted a tall tower by the sea in the distance. Unlike the Tower of Resounding Winds, which was built outside the city limits, the Tower of Tides stood directly inside the city.

Because the Tower of Resounding Winds had been destroyed, the Tower of Tides had heightened its security. Soldiers of the puppet regime patrolled back and forth along the City Wall with lit torches and weapons drawn.

The soaring Tower of Tides featured a ring-shaped observation deck at its peak, where four Tide Giants stood scanning the surroundings.

The White Dragon Lord waited patiently. The Ancient Gold Dragon was leading a group of legendary powerhouses, so their speed couldn't match his own solo flight. Only when the fight at the Tower of Evening Flame broke out could he judge whether the titan inside the Tower of Tides had been drafted away.

If he hadn't...

The White Dragon Lord looked past the Tower of Tides toward the endless sea. He could just as easily take a detour to reach the ocean.

A while later, the White Dragon Lord sensed a pulse of energy from the north. Firelight ignited a corner of the northern sky.

The battle at the Tower of Evening Flame had begun!

The White Dragon Lord immediately fixated on the Tower of Tides' every movement.

Soon, the White Dragon Lord watched four more Tide Giants emerge onto the ring-shaped observation deck. After speaking briefly with their guarding companions, all of them stood watch together. With his astonishing eyesight, the White Dragon Lord clearly saw the worry etched across the giants' faces.

On the city streets below, squads of soldiers jogged toward the City Wall. It was obvious that the Tower of Tides had intensified its defenses.

Though he didn't know if the defending titan had left for the Tower of Evening Flame, the White Dragon Lord figured it was worth a try. Even if he couldn't destroy the Tower of Tides, protecting himself would be no problem.

Maintaining his invisibility, the White Dragon Lord flapped his wings and shot toward the Tower of Tides. His speed climbed until, three seconds later, he broke the sound barrier, leaving the howling wind far behind.

A thousand meters from the magic tower, the White Dragon Lord felt himself brush against a thin membrane. The film had no defensive power; it was an early-warning Magic Barrier.

Knowing he had been discovered, the White Dragon Lord simply dropped his invisibility magic and sprinted toward the magic tower with everything he had.

The Tide Giants on the observation deck panicked and shouted at the sudden appearance of the White Dragon. Several quick-reacting giants rapidly formed Spears of Tides and hurled them at the White Dragon Lord.

The rotating gem atop the Tower of Tides flared brightly, firing an aquamarine energy blast with a long, trailing tail. The blast shot past the Spears of Tides, rushing to strike the White Dragon Lord first.

The White Dragon Lord flapped hard and pulled up. The water-rich energy blast grazed past his belly, followed closely by the flying Spears of Tides.

Another volley of Spears of Tides came flying at his face—these from the slower-reacting Tide Giants.

The White Dragon Lord couldn't even be bothered to dodge Master Tier attacks. The Spears of Tides struck his tough scales and shattered into splashing water drops, sending the cold energy within them burrowing into his body.

Hiss!

It felt like being pricked by a needle—a slight sting.

Next time, he really should dodge.

With that thought, the White Dragon Lord unleashed a blast of Dragon Breath. The ice-blue Dragon Breath cascaded down from the top of the Tower of Tides, washing over the Tide Giants scrambling in panic into the tower before engulfing the entire magic tower.

Less than two seconds passed between the magic tower spotting the White Dragon Lord and the Dragon Breath showering the tower. The magic tower and the guarding Tide Giants outside only managed to launch a single round of attacks before they were frozen solid by the White Dragon Lord's soul-freezing breath.

Worried the Dragon Breath wouldn't penetrate the magic tower fast enough to kill the enemies inside, the White Dragon Lord sustained the breath attack for twenty seconds before finally stopping.

By then, the Tower of Tides was frozen into a solid block. Dense icicles hung inverted along the tower's surface, radiating a terrifying, misty chill.

The puppet regime soldiers on the City Wall stared at the terrifying behemoth in the sky and the bizarre spectacle it had caused. Let alone resisting, some didn't even have the courage to run, simply collapsing in terror. Fortunately, the White Dragon Lord had no interest in bullying regular people.

The White Dragon Lord slowed his wingbeats and slowly descended, his massive draconic body fading in and out of the freezing mist.

On the magic tower's ring-shaped observation deck, the White Dragon Lord saw several Tide Giants frozen mid-dash toward a half-open door. They would never make it inside; their time was permanently locked in that instant of entry.

Continuing his slow descent, the White Dragon Lord sensed no signs of life within the magic tower. His dragon tail suddenly swept out.

Crack!

Like a snapping popsicle, the frozen Tower of Tides was cleaved in half by his tail. The upper half plunged into the adjacent buildings, crushing several mansions beneath it and kicking up a massive cloud of dust.

Shrill screams and panicked cries echoed through the dust, but the White Dragon Lord paid them no mind. Anyone who could afford to live near the Tower of Tides was a high-ranking official of the puppet regime. To the White Dragon Lord, they might be insignificant, but they were still enemies.

The dignitaries living in the mansions around the Tower of Tides fled madly. The White Dragon Lord peered into the fractured interior of the Tower of Tides. His Dragon Breath had been so fierce that even the inside of the magic tower was packed with ice; everything was frozen.

Certain there were no living organisms inside the Tower of Tides, the White Dragon Lord lost interest. He perched on the broken stump of the Tower of Tides to wait for the army led by Willy to arrive.

When Willy arrived with the army, he found only an empty city with its gates wide open, and the White Dragon Lord perched on half a magic tower.

Willy flapped his wings and flew toward the White Dragon Lord. Catching sight of the azure ocean behind the Tower of Tides, and remembering the strings of islands marked on the map, he knew they had secured their escape route.

"Willy, my brother, from now on, this is our base."

The White Dragon Lord watched the monster army begin entering the city, then glanced back at the sea and the large ships docked at the harbor.

"We'll call it Sea-Calling City."

"Umm..."

Willy hesitated, muttering for a moment.

"Brother, I remember the map labeled this city as..."

"Who cares? This is my territory now, and in my territory, what I say goes!"

Willy mimicked Elena, throwing his hands up in defeat.

"Alright then."

"Right, I have another important task for you. Find an island, install the Portal, and activate it. Make sure it's somewhere hidden. Our entire retreat relies on it."

"Yes!"

Not long after Willy flew off, the Ancient Gold Dragon returned with the legendary powerhouses.

From afar, the Ancient Gold Dragon broke away from the main force and flew toward the White Dragon Lord.

"Amos! The reinforcements from the Sincaro Titan World have arrived! The Lord of Red Lotus has appeared!"

The White Dragon Lord wasn't surprised by this news. Calculating the time, the Lord of Red Lotus should have reacted by now. The White Dragon Lord appeared very calm.

"Senior, tell me the details."

Influenced by the White Dragon Lord's calm expression, the originally somewhat agitated Ancient Gold Dragon gradually settled down.

"I was leading the team to attack the Tower of Evening Flame when I suddenly sensed a High-Tier legendary aura appear inside the tower. The aura carried an overbearing, blistering heat. Unwilling to take the risk, I ordered an immediate retreat."

High-Tier Legend, blistering heat—it was undoubtedly the molten titan, Madahak, Lord of the Red Lotus.

"He didn't chase after you?"

"No."

The White Dragon Lord raised a brow. His world was under attack, yet the Lord of Red Lotus actually managed to restrain his explosive rage. That didn't quite match his nature.
