Chapter 235 -231: Interstellar Deserted Star Farm Woman 42

By the time Ji Xiaosong woke up in Dai Lixing’s arms again, Ji Sui’an had already taken two naps.

Ji Dan took such good care of Ji Sui’an that it sparked an idea in Ji Xiaosong’s mind: she wanted to give Ji Dan a new skin and take him with her.

She had considered it before. However, given that they would be traveling to different worlds, she worried that not all of them would be able to accommodate a robot, so she decided she would give Ji Dan a new skin later on.

‘A human skin would be best.’

Early the next morning, Dai Lixing brought Ji Xiaosong to the spiritual power testing center.

It was a military-grade facility, so its readings were the most reliable.

Upon their arrival, soldiers in uniform all around them looked on with reverence and saluted Dai Lixing.

Dai Lixing gave a slight nod in acknowledgment, then led Ji Xiaosong and Ji Dan, who was holding Ji Sui’an, into the main testing hall.

The hall was spacious and brightly lit. In the center stood a massive testing apparatus emitting a soft glow, surrounded by an array of auxiliary equipment and bustling technicians.

“Song Song, you can go first.”

Dai Lixing said, his gaze on Ji Xiaosong gentle.

Ji Xiaosong walked steadily toward the testing apparatus. The surrounding soldiers stood ramrod straight, their gazes following her every move, their eyes filled with curiosity and anticipation.

A technician hurried forward holding a helmet-like sensor. He expertly and gently fitted it onto Ji Xiaosong’s head, then returned to the console. His fingers flew across the control panel as he initiated the testing sequence.

“Madam, are we ready to begin?”

Ji Xiaosong nodded.

The moment the apparatus activated, it emitted a low, soft hum.

On the testing screen, a blinking point of light began to pulse, displaying the initial spiritual power reading.

As time passed, the value represented by the light slowly began to climb, steadily rising from the First Rank to the Second Order.

The quiet atmosphere in the hall was broken as the soldiers couldn’t help but murmur amongst themselves. “The Marshal’s wife’s spiritual power seems pretty high. It’s already at the Second Order right from the start.”

The technicians, however, were glued to the screen, their expressions a mix of focus and astonishment.

The reading continued to climb, effortlessly breaking past the Third Rank and heading toward the Fourth Rank.

Just then, a young technician couldn’t help but gasp, “This rate of increase… it’s staggering! Is the Marshal’s wife some kind of natural prodigy?”

Those around him shot him looks of agreement, and the buzz of conversation in the hall grew louder.

Ji Xiaosong’s eyes were shut tight. She could feel a powerful force surging within her, as if desperate to break free of its restraints.

A light sheen of sweat beaded on her forehead, and she clenched her jaw, struggling to control the force.

After pausing briefly at the Fourth Rank, the reading began to jump again, about to touch the Fifth Rank.

The testing hall fell silent in an instant. Everyone held their breath, their eyes glued to the screen as if they were witnessing a historic moment.

Ji Xiaosong tensed. She realized that if she let this power run wild, the reading would definitely shoot past the Fifth Rank and cause a massive uproar.

‘I don’t want to draw that much attention. This is already good enough.’

And so, she focused all her willpower and forcefully suppressed the surging spiritual power within her.

Just as the reading was about to cross the threshold into the Fifth Rank, it came to a sudden halt, finally settling at the Fifth Rank.

The soldiers around her erupted into wild cheers. “Fifth Rank spiritual power! The Marshal’s wife is incredible!”

The technicians also wore looks of admiration, exchanging glances filled with respect.

In the interstellar world, possessing Fifth Rank spiritual power was as rare as a phoenix feather, enough to command immense admiration.

Amid the crowd’s adulation, Ji Xiaosong slowly opened her eyes, but she silently breathed a sigh of relief, grateful she had managed to suppress that unknown, powerful force just in time.

Next, it was Ji Sui’an’s turn. As Ji Dan carried him toward the testing apparatus, the normally quiet Ji Sui’an suddenly grew excited, as if stimulated by something.

He waved his little hands and babbled, his eyes glinting with a strange light.

A technician carefully placed a specially made, smaller sensor on Ji Sui’an’s head. The moment it was activated, the reading on the apparatus shot up wildly.

“Th-this… how is this possible!”

a young technician cried out in shock.

Before anyone could even react, with a loud BANG, the apparatus simply exploded, showering the floor with components and emitting a puff of acrid smoke.

Everyone was dumbfounded, their eyes wide in disbelief at the scene before them.

The technicians exchanged stunned and bewildered glances.

“I’ve never seen anything like it. How can a baby who’s barely over two months old have such terrifying spiritual power?”

“It defies all logic!”

The soldiers also began to whisper among themselves, and the once solemn and dignified testing hall instantly filled with noise.

A flicker of surprised delight and pride flashed in Dai Lixing’s eyes. He looked at Ji Sui’an as if seeing a new star about to illuminate the interstellar world.

He immediately ordered, “Get my son a new one. Immediately.”

The technicians scrambled about in a flurry. A senior technical supervisor rushed over, squatted down, and picked up a fragment of the shattered apparatus. His brow was deeply furrowed as he muttered nonstop,

“This is impossible… This is the latest model. How could it just blow up like that?”

At that moment, the young technician who had thought the machine was simply broken went red in the face and stammered nervously,

“Supervisor, could it have been a malfunction? I-I can go get another one right away…”

The supervisor stood up and shot him a glare. “A malfunction? What a convenient malfunction! This is a top-of-the-line military-grade testing device. It doesn’t just break whenever it pleases.”

However, despite their deep reservations, they had no choice but to comply with Dai Lixing’s order and quickly prepare a new testing apparatus.

Soon, a more advanced apparatus with a higher protection rating was wheeled in.

The technicians quickly switched to this higher-grade instrument, one specially designed for testing High-level Spiritual Power Users. It was both prohibitively expensive and incredibly precise.

They once again placed the sensor on Ji Sui’an’s head. The instant they activated the apparatus, the reading once again shot up like a runaway horse.

“Oh no, it’s going out of control!” someone yelled.

Sure enough, after holding for only a few seconds, with a deafening RUMBLE, the more advanced apparatus also buckled under the strain and exploded into a pile of scrap.

The testing hall erupted in an uproar, with gasps of shock echoing from all sides.

A senior technical supervisor stepped forward, beads of sweat dotting his forehead. He spoke respectfully to Dai Lixing, “Marshal, the young master’s spiritual power is simply too immense. Our current instruments are completely incapable of measuring a precise value. It’s beyond the scope of our understanding.”

Dai Lixing nodded, his expression grave. “Do not let word of this spread for the time being. I will handle it.”

Everyone acknowledged the order, their reverence for this family deepening.

No one could have expected the Marshal’s wife and the young master to possess such astonishing spiritual power. This was especially true for Ji Sui’an, whose future was now filled with limitless possibilities.

Although Dai Lixing had given the order, there were bound to be some who could piece together what happened today—the Dai Family, for instance.
