Chapter 201: Chapter 197: Interstellar Deserted Star Farm Woman 8

"With cooking skills like yours, if you opened a shop, people would be fighting over your food."

Dai Lixing said as he ate, completely abandoning his table manners.

"Slow down. No one’s going to take it from you."

Ji Xiaosong leisurely picked up a piece of stir-fried beef with onions. It tasted good, just like she used to make it.

This time, Ji Xiaosong finally got a clear look at how Dai Lixing ate and consumed energy.

"This method you have, converting food to energy—does everyone who cultivates their spiritual power know how to do it?" she asked curiously.

"No. The Federation has public Cultivation methods, but they’re only basic. It’s not a big problem for those at Third Rank or below. But I’m a Fifth-rank Spiritual Power User, so my Cultivation method is different."

"So you’re saying the Cultivation method changes with each rank?"

"Yes. I suspect your spiritual power level isn’t low, either. You’ve just never cultivated, so you don’t know how to use it properly. Do you want to learn? I can start by teaching you from the First Rank?"

Dai Lixing thought it over. ’Instead of just thinking about how to protect Ji Xiaosong, it’d be better if she had the ability to protect herself.’

The dangers of the interstellar world were many, and no one could be prepared for everything.

"Okay, let’s talk about it tonight. You need to repair the starship during the day, so just take a little time to teach me at night. I should be a fast learner; I won’t hold you back."

Ji Xiaosong agreed, quickly finishing her bowl of rice.

"I’m full. The rest is all yours. Take your time, no need to rush."

"You... you only ate that little?"

Dai Lixing expressed his shock. "Is that little bit of food enough?"

"Of course it is. I don’t need to convert food into energy, I just need to feel full."

Ji Xiaosong put down her bowl and chopsticks and went outside to continue tending to her vegetable garden.

Since Dai Lixing’s arrival, the vegetable garden could barely produce enough for him to snack on.

As the morning passed, Dai Lixing had already eaten all the fruits and vegetables in the backyard garden.

So, Ji Xiaosong simply doubled the size of the front yard and planted all sorts of fruit trees.

Peaches, plums, apricots, loquats, pears, apples, grapes, persimmons, tangerines, oranges, sugarcane...

Ji Xiaosong planted every kind of fruit tree she could think of, then urged her Spiritual Power to make them instantly blossom and bear fruit.

When Dai Lixing finished his meal, cleaned the dishes, and came outside, he was greeted by the sight of a yard that had doubled in size, filled with fruit-laden trees.

"What are these?"

He pointed at the fruit trees encircling the yard, a little stunned.

"These are fruit trees I found in the forests. They’re all non-toxic and you can eat them right after picking. Want to try one?"

Ji Xiaosong picked a juicy honey peach, peeled the entire skin off in one piece, and handed it to him.

"This is a honey peach. The skin peels right off."

Dai Lixing stared at the honey peach before him. Its skin glowed with a pinkish-white luster in the sun, and when his fingertips lightly touched it, he could feel the tender flesh quiver.

When he took the first bite, his teeth first met flesh that was soft but not mushy. Juice trickled down between his fingers, so sweet it made the tip of his tongue tingle.

The genetically modified peaches of the interstellar era were crisp and hard, their sweetness like something trapped in a glass jar, forever lacking a layer of fresh juiciness.

"This..."

He mumbled and popped a grape into his mouth. The dark purple skin burst between his teeth, and the juice and pulp slid down his throat. The sour and sweet notes were like two little fairies dancing on his tongue.

The seedless grapes of the interstellar era only had a singular, sugary-sweet flavor. They lacked this addictive quality that made your teeth ache from the tartness, yet you couldn’t stop eating them.

Ji Xiaosong handed him a bright yellow loquat, its flesh covered in a delicate fuzz.

Dai Lixing swallowed it without even spitting out the pit, his eyes lighting up from the tartness hidden within the fruit’s flesh.

"This is so much more natural than the interstellar-cultivated sweet-and-sour flavoring agents!"

He suddenly grabbed Ji Xiaosong’s wrist and pointed at an orange tree laden with golden fruit. "Is that what they call an orange? I’ve seen it in the Starship’s database. I heard you can squeeze fresh juice from it?"

Before she could answer, he plucked an orange. The moment his nail broke the oily rind, the citrus scent drilled into his nostrils like a released sprite.

When he bit into the flesh, the plump juice sacs exploded in his mouth like sweet-and-sour fireworks.

The concentrated orange juice of the interstellar era always had the astringent taste of artificial flavoring. It had nothing on this refreshing sensation that made his throat want to cheer.

Finally, he walked in circles around the yard chewing on a stalk of sugarcane, the clear, sweet juice trickling down his chin.

"You know what?"

He suddenly turned his head, his eyes shining like two embedded stars. "The fruits of the interstellar era are all like specimens trapped in nutrient pods. But here..."

He spread his arms, the fragrance of fruit mixed with the scent of earth washing over him. "This is the taste of something truly alive."

"You’re exaggerating. It’s just ordinary food."

Ji Xiaosong smiled, took a basket out of her Space Button, and started picking the Autumn Moon Pears in front of her.

"I’ll get some for you. You can just grab one whenever you want while you’re repairing the starship."

"No need. When I want one, I’ll just use my spiritual power to reach out and pick it from the tree. That’s the freshest way."

’I’m becoming decadent,’ Dai Lixing thought. ’Living here is like a paradise. I don’t want to leave at all.’

"By the way, I fixed my Star Network connection this morning and applied for an account for you. The delivery should be arriving on Wa Star any moment."

"That fast!"

Ji Xiaosong hadn’t forgotten that when Rongrong brought her to Wa Star, the flight had taken a full day and night.

"Interstellar deliveries generally take ten minutes at most, no matter how far. They just open a spatial transport corridor. If Wa Star weren’t so far from the Main Star, it could even arrive within five minutes."

The words had barely left his mouth when a white package suddenly appeared in front of Ji Xiaosong and Dai Lixing.

Dai Lixing expertly unwrapped the package, placed a round, white metal disc in Ji Xiaosong’s palm, and it vanished in an instant.

Dai Lixing pointed at the slowly fading metal disc in Ji Xiaosong’s palm. "This is a universal interstellar ID card. It’s bound to your brainwave frequency with a bio-chip. Now, close your eyes and try to touch it with your thoughts."

Ji Xiaosong’s eyelashes fluttered. She suddenly felt a burst of light, like fireflies, go off inside her head.

A pale blue virtual interface appeared on her retina, with floating icons for "Identity Authentication," "Star Network Access," "Interstellar Bank," and others.

Dai Lixing snapped his fingers. The silver bracelet on his wrist projected a hologram. "Click here and input your fingerprint and iris information. Of course, this is just one method. Everyone’s genes are different, so we just have a few backup methods."

When Ji Xiaosong completed the verification, a system notification sounded in her mind: "Welcome to the Interstellar Federation, Citizen ID 20250302-001."

She looked at her palm in astonishment, as if she could see countless streams of data flowing beneath her skin.

"Now try the search function."

Dai Lixing plucked a grape, tossed it into the air, and caught it in his mouth.

"For example, ’How to make wine with fruit from Blue Star’?"

With a single thought from Ji Xiaosong, countless links from the interstellar encyclopedia popped up before her eyes.

The top entry detailed ancient brewing techniques, even clearly listing starship-grade parameters for temperature control.

"This is so much faster than looking through ancient books!"

She spun around in excitement, the tips of her hair brushing past rare materials on virtual shelves.

Suddenly, she noticed a flashing number in the bottom right corner. "What’s this number? A one followed by seven zeros?"

"That’s your Star Coin balance."

Dai Lixing pulled up another stalk of sugarcane, preparing to eat it. "I transferred some money to you just now. It’s for my room and board."
