Chapter 202: Chapter 198: Interstellar Deserted Star Farm Woman 9

"As expected, you’re the generous one."

Ji Xiaosong happily checked her balance. "With this much money, am I a rich girl now?"

"Yeah, you are. How do you eat this stick?"

"It’s sugarcane. You have to peel it."

Ji Xiaosong took out a knife for peeling sugarcane.

"Here, like this. You shave off the peel, or you can just strip it with your teeth."

Dai Lixing gave it a look, then used a bit of his spiritual power. The entire stalk of sugarcane was instantly peeled clean.

"Wha— Wha— What...? You can use spiritual power like that?"

"Of course. There are tons of ways to use spiritual power. I’ll teach you bit by bit later on. Once you learn Cultivation, you can experiment on your own, too."

Dai Lixing chewed on it, realizing that besides the juice, the rest was inedible.

"Am I supposed to spit out the pulp?"

"Of course."

Ji Xiaosong dug a small hole in the dirt. "You can spit it in here. It’ll be good fertilizer for the soil."

Dai Lixing spit out the pulp and added, "Oh, by the way, I also went ahead and bought Wa Star for you. It’s already been registered in your name. You’ve already started reclaiming the land, so part of it was already yours, but finishing the entire planet would probably take many years. That’s why I just bought it for you outright."

"Whoa, what a tycoon! I’m not worthy!"

Ji Xiaosong clasped her hands together and gave an exaggerated, deep bow, startling Dai Lixing.

"You... you don’t have to be so dramatic. The food you’ve given me is incredibly valuable. I had some toxins in my system, and they’re already at least one-tenth gone. Besides, with your current balance, you could buy ten more Wa Stars."

"Ten Wa Stars?!"

Ji Xiaosong practically shrieked. "I really am a rich girl after all!"

She laughed so hard she doubled over, plopping right down on the ridge between the fields. The sugarcane pulp in her hand scattered across the ground.

Leaning her head back, she playfully swung her legs in Dai Lixing’s direction. The sunlight danced in the tips of her hair, like a dusting of crushed gold.

"Ten Wa Stars! Ten!"

She suddenly jumped up and began to spin in place, her floral skirt billowing out like a small umbrella.

"If I can buy more planets in the future, I’ll plant strawberries all over every single one! I’ll raise glowing rabbits! And build crystal houses!"

Growing dizzy from spinning, she staggered and grabbed Dai Lixing’s sleeve, her fingertips still sticky and sweet from the sugarcane juice.

The pull made Dai Lixing lean slightly forward. He suddenly noticed her eyelashes casting fan-like shadows just beneath her eyes.

His Adam’s apple bobbed. On an impulse he couldn’t explain, he reached out and plucked a blade of grass from her hair.

As his fingers brushed against her ear, she suddenly fell silent. Her large eyes swiveled to look at him.

"Your ear is red."

Ji Xiaosong suddenly stood on her tiptoes and leaned in close, her warm breath brushing across his chin.

Dai Lixing stumbled back half a step, crashing into the pile of sugarcane. The crisp stalks fell in a clattering heap.

"...The sun’s just too strong."

He turned away stiffly, only for Ji Xiaosong to wrap her arms around his waist from behind.

Her soft hair brushed against the nape of his neck, carrying a mixed scent of honey and fresh grass.

"Thank you."

Her voice, muffled by his shirt, drifted to him. "Think of it as a thank you from a friend."

Dai Lixing gazed at the barren mountains in the distance, and suddenly, even that sterile land seemed to have gained some color.

He reached back to still the restless hand on his waist, his thumb stroking the light calluses on her palm.

"Planting strawberries is too much of a hassle. I’ll send you some robots."

Dai Lixing’s fingers suddenly tightened, then loosened as if he’d been shocked.

He stared at the blade of grass stuck to his palm, his Adam’s apple bobbing. Then, he abruptly spun around and strode off the field path, his black boots crushing a few wild daisies.

"Hey!"

Ji Xiaosong took two steps after him, then stopped. Hands on her hips, a smile revealing her dimples, she called out, "You were so commanding when you bought the planet, why are you running off like a cat that got its tail stepped on?"

The man’s retreating figure stiffened. Without looking back, he tossed over his shoulder, "Just remembered the spaceship needs maintenance."

Before his voice had even faded, faint golden ripples appeared in the air, and he vanished on the spot.

Ji Xiaosong squatted down and picked up the Space Button he’d dropped. She rubbed her fingers over the cool metal casing for a moment, then suddenly burst out laughing.

She fell backward onto the freshly tilled soil and gazed up at the brilliantly blue sky, the scent of fresh earth clinging to the stray strands of her hair.

’What’s with the iceberg act?’

She waved the Space Button at the empty air. "And who was it sneaking peeks at my apron strings during the barbecue at lunch?"

A mechanical hum sounded in the distance, and three agricultural robots descended from the clouds.

Humming a tune, Ji Xiaosong clipped the Space Button to her belt. She then noticed a half-eaten piece of sugarcane in the pile by the field path. Dai Lixing’s bite marks were still visible on the sweet flesh.

After the three robots landed beside her, Ji Xiaosong squatted on the field path and poked the silver-gray casing of the one in front of her.

The metal surface suddenly rippled, and a holographic interface materialized. It startled her so much that she fell right on her butt in the mud.

"What the heck is this?"

She scrambled to wipe the mud splattered on her skirt, but a mechanical arm suddenly popped out of the robot’s chest. The nozzle on its end let out a PSSHT, spraying a cleaning agent that instantly left the hem of her skirt cleaner than the day she bought it.

"Hey, not bad! It even has a drying function. This is better than my washing machine."

She scrambled to her feet and circled the robot, discovering a retractable mechanical arm on its back that could transform into a hoe or a sprinkler head.

She tried calling out, "Water!" The robot immediately rose into mid-air and began spraying a fine mist from its abdomen. The sugarcane leaves perked up straight wherever it passed.

"Little Red!"

She casually named the weeding robot. "Get rid of all those weeds over there!"

The robot suddenly broke apart into hundreds of Ping-Pong-ball-sized drones that buzzed into the sugarcane grove.

Ji Xiaosong lay down at the edge of the field to watch. She saw that each drone used a laser to sever the weed roots with precision, without harming a single sugarcane leaf.

"Now that’s what I call efficient!"

’It would take a normal person three hours to weed all this... and they did it in three seconds?’

While she was thinking, the tilling robot finished plowing the entire hillside. It then transformed into a hovering transport vehicle, automatically sorting the unearthed rocks and stacking them into new field ridges.

As darkness fell, Ji Xiaosong had a whimsical idea: she told the robots to use their searchlights to form a heart shape.

The result was that the three robots bathed the entire night sky of Wa Star in a pink glow.

While she was munching on a piece of sugarcane a robot had peeled for her, she suddenly noticed the weeding robot was playing upbeat music.

"Who told you to play that?!" Ji Xiaosong choked on her laughter.

"Master, entertainment during work can help you relax."

"This music is terrible. Just do your work quietly, please."

Looking at the now-pristine yard, Ji Xiaosong smiled and went inside the house.

That evening, after Dai Lixing and Ji Xiaosong finished dinner, the spiritual power Cultivation lesson began.

"First Rank spiritual power Cultivation is very easy. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you learn it."

Dai Lixing brought over two hover chairs, his fingertip tracing a stream of faint golden data in the air.

A holographic projection unfolded between them, displaying a three-dimensional model of a neural synapse.

"Spiritual power is essentially the resonance frequency of neurons."

He pulled up a brain scan. "Like this..."

Before he could finish, Ji Xiaosong suddenly reached out and poked him between the eyebrows.
