When a Blade of Grass Wants to Become Immortal
Chapter 200 - 196: Interstellar Deserted Star Farm Woman 7
Chapter 200: Chapter 196: Interstellar Deserted Star Farm Woman 7
Dai Lixing looked at Ji Xiaosong and smiled without a word.
"I’ve already watered all the fruits and vegetables in the garden, so you don’t need to worry about them. If you get hungry, just go pick something for yourself. I’m heading into the forest to hunt now. What we have for lunch will depend entirely on what I can catch."
"Won’t that be dangerous? Almost all interstellar plants and animals are poisonous. Can we really eat something you just hunted?"
It was no wonder Dai Lixing was worried. Removing toxins from interstellar flora and fauna had always been a major challenge.
Botanists and zoologists were constantly searching for a solution, but very few methods could truly remove one hundred percent of the toxins.
"It’s not dangerous for me; I can handle it. As for the toxins, they’re easy to deal with. I have my own methods."
Ji Xiaosong didn’t specify her method, and Dai Lixing didn’t ask.
This was likely her own unique technology. She might not have realized its significance, but Dai Lixing was keenly aware of just how precious it was.
"By the way, don’t leave this courtyard. You’ll be safe as long as you stay here."
With that, Ji Xiaosong left the house.
Dai Lixing remained behind to continue repairing his spaceship. There were many matters in the Federation awaiting his return, so he needed to pick up the pace.

Once out of Dai Lixing’s sight, Ji Xiaosong climbed onto Rongrong and headed for the forest. She had previously discovered, to her great delight, that the entire planet of Wa Star was rich in Spiritual Energy. Its lakes and rivers were filled with spirit water, condensed from Spiritual Power.
The local plants and animals were still poisonous, having not absorbed the Spiritual Energy, but that didn’t mean they were entirely inedible.
"Song, which forest are you planning to explore today?"
"The one right next to our house will do. Didn’t you say before that as long as we reclaim land, that land becomes ours? I’ve already figured it out. I’ll just plant something in the forest, and that should count as reclamation."
"You sure know how to find loopholes."
"Don’t other people know about this method?"
"It’s not that they don’t know; it’s that most people here simply don’t know how to farm."
"That’s true. If people in the interstellar era knew how to farm, this regulation probably wouldn’t exist."
Ji Xiaosong and Rongrong soon reached a vast forest nearby. They chose a section close to a lake, where Ji Xiaosong planted a large patch of watermelons.
She didn’t know much about Wa Star yet, other than that the current climate was equivalent to spring on Blue Star.
Following her usual planting method, she used Spiritual Power to accelerate their growth.
In just a few moments, the entire watermelon patch was covered in uniformly sized watermelons.
Ji Xiaosong picked a hundred of them and put them in her Space Button, planning to give them to Dai Lixing later.
"Rongrong, does this mean the entire forest is mine now?"
"I suppose so? I can’t connect to the Star Network either. Once you’re able to connect in a few days, you’ll know for sure."
"Then what if all this work we’re doing is just for someone else to reap the rewards?"
"The interstellar population is small, but there are tons of planets. Who’s going to be interested in a planet with literally no one on it?"
"That’s true. If it were really valuable, there’d be at least some advanced intelligent life here."
Ji Xiaosong strolled into the forest and before long, she spotted a herd of cattle.
The cattle here looked different from those on Blue Star, but they were similar enough.
She crouched behind some bushes to observe the herd. She noticed the creatures’ hides had a dark, metallic-blue sheen, and their horns were entwined with glowing vines.
The lead bull sensed the disturbance. It threw its head back and let out a low-frequency bellow that shook the leaves from the surrounding trees.
She plucked a blade of grass and twirled it between her fingers, infusing it with Spiritual Power. The blade suddenly expanded into a glowing vine, tracing a silver arc through the air to precisely bind the four hooves of another large bull.
Before the rest of the herd could react, Ji Xiaosong had already snatched up the bull with the vine and departed.
When she reached the watermelon patch by the lake, Ji Xiaosong knelt on one knee and placed both hands on the bull’s forehead.
A faint green stream of Spiritual Power flowed from her palms into the bull. The once-frenzied animal gradually calmed, and the blue glow of its hide softened into a warm yellow.
A fingernail-sized Jade Blade materialized at her fingertip, and she swiped it lightly across the bull’s neck.
The blood was collected. The wound from the cut instantly carbonized as if seared by extreme heat, leaving the incision as smooth as a mirror’s surface.
She quickly butchered the bull, used her Spiritual Power to purge it of all toxins, and then stored it in her Space Button.
’With Dai Lixing’s appetite, this whole bull might only be enough for a single meal.’
’What a terrifying appetite. He eats so much in one sitting. What kind of well-off family could possibly afford to feed him?’
With the bull taken care of, Ji Xiaosong sat atop Rongrong and leisurely made her way home.
"Pan-seared steak, beef brisket stew with tomatoes and potatoes, roast beef... Rongrong, I already know what I want to make. Life is so relaxing and carefree here, I don’t want anything to change."
"Isn’t this tiring?"
"Not at all. It’s by doing these mundane things that you feel closer to life. Traveling from one world to the next, I often feel like I don’t belong. Experiences like this are what actually help me relax."
Ji Xiaosong took a skewer of flattened, candied strawberries out of her storage space. She took a bite, then lay back on Rongrong, gazing at the blue sky and white clouds.
Rongrong enveloped her. "Song, I didn’t know you felt this way. I’m sorry, I never realized."
"It’s okay. This is our mission together. I want to become an Immortal. Compared to those who risk their lives, cultivating bitterly and fighting for resources, this is already wonderful. I get to experience all facets of life and constantly improve myself."
Ji Xiaosong was quite philosophical about it. ’Initially, Rongrong extracted my memories to protect me. But without any memories, how could I improve?’
’So later on, we started preserving some memories but extracting the emotions. That way, I can detach myself whenever I need to.’
"Then should we choose lower-difficulty worlds for our missions from now on? Anyway, there are plenty of Immortals waiting to be reincarnated. Once we complete three more missions, we’ll be able to choose our own worlds, and the Star Lord of Destiny will even help us."
"Why wait three more worlds?"
"Because that will bring us to a total of ten completed missions, and we’ll have accumulated enough merit."
"Fine, three it is. We’ve come through so many worlds already, so what’s a little more time?"
Chatting away, Ji Xiaosong and Rongrong were home in no time.
Dai Lixing had already repaired some of the spaceship’s hardware, and it was looking less dilapidated.
"Beef for lunch. Do you eat a lot of meat?"
"Unless it’s as packed with energy as the food you grow, my appetite is only slightly larger than a normal person’s."
Ji Xiaosong didn’t believe him. "I caught a bull today. You’ll get to taste my cooking soon."
With that, she went into the kitchen alone, channeled her Spiritual Power, and started cooking.
Cooking with Spells was indeed much faster. In less than half an hour, Ji Xiaosong had prepared the entire bull, along with ten vegetable dishes and two large bowls of soup.
"Time to eat!"
Ji Xiaosong brought all the dishes to the table, and Dai Lixing walked in, drawn by the aroma.
"There are really no toxins at all!"
Dai Lixing took a bite of the steak. It was rich, tender, and juicy, leaving him utterly stunned.
