Chapter 198: Chapter 194: Interstellar Deserted Star Farm Woman 5

By the time Ji Xiaosong finished cooking a large pot of hand-pulled noodles, Dai Lixing had already ravaged about half the vegetable garden.

There were originally eight rows of strawberries, but now only four were left.

Only three trellises of cherry tomatoes remained.

As for the cucumbers, if Ji Xiaosong hadn’t shown up when she did, he probably wouldn’t have left her a single one.

’That was hundreds of pounds of fruits and vegetables! He just ate all that fresh produce?’

"Aren’t you... stuffed?"

When Ji Xiaosong asked this, her voice was trembling.

Other than her time in the Beast World, she had never seen any human being who could eat so much food in one sitting.

Her gaze slowly drifted to Dai Lixing’s stomach, which still looked perfectly flat.

"I’m not stuffed. Your food is excellent. I can convert it directly into my own energy as I eat, so no matter how much I have, I don’t feel uncomfortable. In fact, my whole body feels great."

Ji Xiaosong pouted. ’Of course you’d feel great after eating food I grew with Spiritual Energy.’

She just hadn’t expected that Dai Lixing’s body could also convert Spiritual Energy into its own energy.

She had thought that spiritual power Cultivation could only be done using energy from ores. She never imagined Spiritual Energy would work too. If that was the case, she had a shortcut for her future Cultivation. The Spiritual Energy on Wa Star was incredibly dense—in some forests, it could even materialize into Spiritual Springs and Spirit Rain.

"Well, if you’re not stuffed, then never mind. I’m putting it all on your tab anyway. Now, can you still eat the noodles?"

"I can."

Dai Lixing had smelled the fragrant noodles long ago and eagerly walked over to the dining table to sit down.

"This smells amazing!"

Dai Lixing picked up a mouthful with his chopsticks and immediately started eating.

He had eaten many different types of food before, but nothing had ever been as delicious as what Ji Xiaosong made.

Even without any meat, it was still exceptionally good.

In just a few minutes, Dai Lixing finished all the noodles.

"Delicious. Once I fix my ship and my Star Network connection, I’ll set up a Star Coin savings account for you. I’ll transfer you money every day."

Ji Xiaosong didn’t mind him making grand promises.

"When you wake up tomorrow, go check on your ship yourself. I’m going to bed now."

"Wait... could... could you help me drag the wreckage of my ship into your yard? I noticed that the wild beasts and poisonous vines outside don’t enter your yard. If I leave it out there, there might be nothing left of it by tomorrow."

Dai Lixing knew it was a bit of a shameless request, but he had no other choice right now.

"Fine, that’s a small matter."

Ji Xiaosong agreed at once.

Dai Lixing breathed a sigh of relief. He handed Ji Xiaosong a Space Button, then, as if remembering something, he asked:

"Do you have spiritual power?"

"I don’t know if I do. Why do you ask?"

"If you have spiritual power, you can open this Space Button and put things inside."

Ji Xiaosong feigned ignorance. "How would I know if I have spiritual power? And how do I use it?"

Dai Lixing placed the Space Button flat in his palm. "Spiritual power is the ability to perceive energy, like touching the air with your mind."

His fingertip traced a faint glimmer on the metal surface. "Try to trace this pattern with your consciousness."

Ji Xiaosong mimicked his action, a faint vibration spreading through her palm.

As she focused her attention on the pattern, the Space Button suddenly projected a blue grid onto her retina, like a three-dimensional coordinate system.

"Don’t frown."

Dai Lixing gently tapped the back of her hand. "Relax your nerves. Imagine you’re drawing on the surface of water."

His spiritual power formed an invisible hand, steadying her trembling perceptual thread and guiding it to form a closed loop within the energy grid.

Ji Xiaosong suddenly saw her palm turn translucent, and the teacup on the table was passing right through it.

She snatched her hand back, and the cup fell to the floor with a CLATTER.

"Your spiritual power leans toward penetration."

Dai Lixing picked up the cup. "This is very useful for deciphering ancient devices."

He suddenly paused, staring at the faint blue pattern that had appeared on the back of her hand. "But for now, learn to control it. Don’t let your hand phase through a wall."

Dai Lixing was shocked by Ji Xiaosong’s spiritual power. "Have you really never had a spiritual power test?"

Ji Xiaosong rolled her eyes. "Look at me, living alone on Wa Star without even a Star Network account. Do I look like someone who’s had the chance to get a spiritual power test?"

"That’s true. But don’t worry, once I fix my things, I’ll help you get all that."

Ji Xiaosong took the Space Button from Dai Lixing and imprinted it with her spiritual power.

"The space inside is quite large. More than enough to hold your ship."

"Yes. Since you don’t have a Star Coin savings account, please accept this Space Button as my payment. Is that acceptable?"

"Fine. I don’t know its value, but it will be very useful to me."

This was perfect. Ji Xiaosong hadn’t known how she could openly use her own spatial abilities. Having a Space Button on her person would make things much more convenient from now on.

"By the way, can this Space Button preserve things?"

"Yes, but only for three years."

"That’s long enough."

Ji Xiaosong took the Space Button, went out of the yard, and stored all of Dai Lixing’s ship inside it.

Back in the yard, she found an empty spot and placed it there.

"Is there anything else? I’m sleepy. I’m really going to bed now."

Ji Xiaosong walked off on her own, truly not wanting to deal with Dai Lixing anymore.

’It’s so late, and this has been such a hassle.’

Ji Xiaosong returned to her bedroom, grabbed a quilt, and tossed it to Dai Lixing.

"Nights on Wa Star are a bit cold. Even though this house is temperature-controlled... on account of you giving me the Space Button, I’ll reluctantly give you a quilt."

As Dai Lixing caught the quilt, he smelled the faint scent of herbs on it.

Moonlight slanted in through the window lattice, just enough to illuminate the faint blush on the tips of Ji Xiaosong’s ears as she turned away.

*

The next morning, Ji Xiaosong woke up early to steam buns.

With nothing else to do, she enjoyed immersing herself in the small details of life.

Proofing the dough, mincing the filling...

Considering Dai Lixing’s huge appetite, she steamed a hundred buns in one go.

By the time she had placed them all on the dining table, Dai Lixing had already taken a stroll around the garden.

"I just checked on my damaged ship. It won’t be easy to fix, but luckily, I stored replacement materials in several Space Buttons. I should be able to repair it in just three days."

Ji Xiaosong took a bite of a beef-filled bun and nodded.

"Mm, you should fix it as soon as you can. I’m the only person on Wa Star. You’ll get bored if you stay here too long."

Dai Lixing bit into a bun, swallowed, and then mumbled, "I can take off in three days. Do you want to leave with me?"

As soon as he finished speaking, he took another bite, and the hot juice made him suck in a sharp breath.
