Chapter 534 293: Violent Outburst! Only Death Can Wash Away Hatred
Baron merely sneered, melting the Celestial Horse Knight Commander's longsword with Silver Flame and kicking him away as the man's face contorted in shock.
He then swept his spear horizontally, knocking aside all the Griffin Knights in his path. Ignoring the blades and axes embedded in his body, he brandished his weapon and charged straight for Elder Pence, whose expression was twisting in horror.
"You dare!"
The Hestia Family's Griffin Knights swarmed the Dragon Knight, but because of his Silver Flame, they couldn't even get close. They were burned so badly they were sent scrambling, dropping their swords and casting off their armor in a panic.
"Stop! Baron Constantin!"
The Law Enforcers turned pale with alarm. They were about to move and stop Baron Constantin, but found themselves completely unable to move, like plastic toys glued in place.
They instinctively looked down and saw a fluorescent Magic Card glowing at their feet.
'This is…'
"A Fixed Body Magic Card," Wizard Hilde said, naming the card.
'Someone's working with the Dragon Knight? Who is it?'
Everyone's eyes darted around, searching, before they all froze in astonishment.
They found the one who had used the Magic Card, but they still couldn't quite believe their eyes.
"Freya… you…" the Lancelot Family Head stared in shock at his daughter, who was now holding her Magic Staff. "Why…?"
Freya ignored her father, her beautiful eyes fixed unwaveringly on the Dragon Knight charging to kill Elder Pence.
'I have to see it! I have to see Baron Constantin kill Elder Pence with his own hands!'
'This is for Anthony!'
At that moment, the Celestial Horse Knight, Yisur, snapped into action.
Being Silver Tier, he easily broke free from the Magic Card's hold. He drew his longsword, his body turning into a streak of silver light as he moved to intercept the Dragon Knight's Golden Dragon Spear.
The instant the spear and sword met, the air vibrated with a metallic whine like a swarm of bees. A deafening CRACK exploded from the point of impact, ringing in everyone's ears like a great temple bell.
Yisur's long eyebrows twitched. He looked with some surprise at Baron Constantin, who was wreathed in Silver Flame.
He was stunned by the sheer strength and abundance of Baron Constantin's Spiritual Power—it was far beyond anything a Bronze Knight should possess.
Even he, who was considered exceptionally gifted, had never possessed such formidable strength and Spiritual Power when he was at the same tier.
'Especially when combined with that Dragon Flame—which ignites on contact and can even burn away Spiritual Power—is it possible that even I am finding this a little tricky?'
But only a little.
Yisur's eyes went cold. He pushed forward, his sword still locked with the spear, and thrust toward the Dragon Knight. His own Spiritual Power formed a barrier, completely warding off the Dragon Knight's Silver Flame.
Though the Silver Flame could burn even Spiritual Power, it was a pity for his opponent that as a Silver Tier Knight, Spiritual Power was the one thing Yisur had in abundance.
The flame simply couldn't burn through his Spiritual Power faster than he could replenish it. Therefore, before the Dragon Knight's spear could reach Elder Pence, his own sword would have already pierced the man's chest.
'A Dragon Knight... such a pity you never had the chance to fully mature. Since you won't cherish the opportunity I gave you... then die!'
Just as Yisur believed his sword was about to pierce Baron, the Dragon Knight's body suddenly convulsed. Fresh blood from his existing wounds splattered toward Yisur.
Yisur instinctively dodged the filthy blood. As he moved to press his attack, he heard the sound of metal tearing through fabric.
He stared in that direction, incredulous. He was stunned, his handsome face—said to rival even Wilder's—was a mask of pure shock.
The Golden Demon Hunter, Abraham, had just lit a new cigarette. He didn't even flinch as the burning tip reached his fingers, his eyes fixed blankly in that same direction.
The Demon Hunters beside him—Gold, Dewey, Kesha, Zick… even the Dragon Demon Hunter, Andy, who was sitting in a wheelchair—all had the same expression. In fact, Andy unconsciously pushed himself up from his wheelchair, his eyes beneath their bandages bulging as if they were about to leap from their sockets.
The eyes of Saint Elvin, the Faith Knights, and the two Battle Nuns all glinted with shock.
Even the Patriarchs and Elders of the Old Blood Clans, along with the top brass of the Law Enforcement Organization, stared rigidly in that direction, as if they were still paralyzed by Freya's Magic Card.
Everyone present, from Hilde to Hamilton, stared in utter astonishment. Their eyes were wide, their jaws hung open. They looked like fish trapped beneath a sheet of ice, gasping for air that wasn't there.
There, the Dragon Knight had run his spear through Elder Pence's chest, pinning the man brutally to the ground!!!!
Silver Flame slithered down the spear shaft and coiled around Elder Pence like a white serpent.
A thunderclap from the Abyss shattered the silence, and everyone snapped back to reality.
"He… He actually attacked Elder Pence…"
"Baron Constantin… You're insane!"
"A Lawbreaker… He really is a Lawbreaker!"
The Elders of the Old Blood Clans and the leaders of the Law Enforcement Organization quickly began to rally the Old Race members of their families and the elites of their organization.
There were three main reasons for this reaction.
First, Baron Constantin's brazen attack in their presence was a direct challenge to the Law and Order of the Inner Side. And as everyone knew, the primary duty of the Law Enforcement Organization was to maintain that very Order.
Furthermore, Baron Constantin's actions were a blatant show of disrespect to the Elders of the Old Blood Clans, and those Elders needed to reclaim their lost prestige and save face.
Second, the Hestia Family was, after all, one of the most renowned Knight Clans on the Inner Side, and Elder Pence was their Grand Elder, second in rank only to the Patriarch. If the Dragon Knight were allowed to kill him and escape unscathed, it would undoubtedly shake the foundations of the Order that the Law Enforcers worked so tirelessly to maintain.
This was especially true given the current climate. Thanks to the narrative being pushed by the Inner London newspapers, the Dragon Knight had become a sort of Robin Hood figure to the members of the Old Race who despised the Old Blood. Some young, impressionable children were even starting to see him as a role model.
If Baron Constantin were allowed to kill an Elder of an Old Blood Clan just like that, then with a little manipulation from certain interested parties behind the scenes, the incident would bring more than just a shock to the Inner Side's Order—it could very well trigger a catastrophe.
Third, they smelled opportunity in Roy Hestia's collusion with the Dragon Eater Association. It was an opportunity they could use as leverage to extort concessions and benefits from the Hestia Knight Clan.
After all, the Hestia Family was a powerhouse on the Inner Side, possessing many assets coveted by the other major Old Blood Clans.
Of course, they weren't entirely sure if Elder Pence himself had truly colluded with the Dragon Eater Association.
But if they simply allowed Baron Constantin to kill Elder Pence, then regardless of the truth, their leverage to blackmail the Hestia Family would disappear.
After all, Roy Hestia—the one who revealed the crucial information during the "broadcast"—was already dead. If Elder Pence, the alleged mastermind, was also killed, the Hestia Family could simply claim that with all key figures deceased, the matter was impossible to investigate. And there would be nothing anyone could do about it.
While the Old Blood Elders and Law Enforcement leaders schemed with their own agendas, the Dragon Knight had already ripped the spear from Elder Pence's chest, only to plunge it back in, deeper this time.
From the Abyss came the thunderous rattle of a mad dragon shaking its chains. Bathed in the light of the Red Moon, Elder Pence gripped the spear shaft with both hands, a serpentine hiss escaping his throat.
Engulfed in Silver Flame, he resembled a dry log, emitting a sickening, crackling sound that made one's blood run cold.
He shrieked, his voice raw with fury, "Baron Constantin!!! You madman!!!!!"
Elder Pence had assumed the Dragon Knight would do nothing more than spout a few empty threats. He never imagined that Baron Constantin would actually dare to attack him—in front of so many leaders from the Law Enforcement Organization and the Old Blood Clans, with no regard for the consequences!
"Baron Constantin! It's not too late to stop!!!" an Elder from another Old Blood Clan roared.
But Baron paid him no mind, gripping the spear and pressing it relentlessly into Elder Pence's chest, ignoring the fact that Elder Pence's Dragon Claw had just pierced his own torso in return!!!!
