Chapter 528 - 290: The Return of the Dragon Knight (4)

"I’m sorry, Elder Pence," Abraham said. "While I sympathize deeply with what happened to Roy of the Hestia Family, according to the Inner Side’s law enforcement standards, undergoing Judgement is a logical necessity."

"Adam!" he suddenly shouted.

Adam Van Helsing came over hesitantly. "Grandpa."

"Turn around."

"Grandpa..." Adam’s expression changed in an instant. "There are so many people here..."

"This is an order from Abraham!" the Old Cowboy said in a tone that brooked no argument.

Adam sighed as if resigning himself to his fate and slowly turned around.

And just like that, he was sent flying, landing sprawled on the ground.

"This is your punishment for letting a whole group of Law Enforcers get beaten by a single man," the Old Cowboy said, pulling his foot back.

He glanced around, and all the Law Enforcers lowered their heads in shame, not daring to meet his gaze, likely afraid of being kicked in the ass in public by the Golden Demon Hunter.

His gaze fell upon the Dragon Knight. "Well now, my dear Mr. Constantine, to put it in the style of a chivalric romance, your days of villainy are over, one way or another."

"Put on the handcuffs. I swear on my name, Abraham, that I will see justice done for you."

"Inside the Demon Hunter Association, I can also guarantee you won’t be harassed by certain people."

Elder Pence’s expression twitched.

Baron looked at the handcuffs before him, then glanced at the surrounding Law Enforcers. His gaze lingered for a moment on Freya’s eyes before he bent down, picked up the handcuffs, and moved to put them on... but a hand shot out and grabbed his.

He looked up and saw it was the Eldest Daughter, Isabella Beowulf.

The Eldest Daughter threw the handcuffs down and looked at Old Abraham.

"I’m sorry, Chairman Abraham. You cannot take Baron Constantin."

The Old Cowboy narrowed his eyes, and everyone assumed he was furious at being offended.

But to everyone’s surprise, the Old Cowboy said, "Is the Eldest Daughter spoken for? I have a grandson—not a fool like Adam, of course..."

Isabella’s expression frosted over. "I’m sorry, but I have no plans to marry at the moment," she said coldly.

Old Abraham nodded. "That’s a shame, then."

He said, "But I absolutely must take Baron Constantin with me, Miss Eldest."

"He is a Lawbreaker, after all. As long as the Judgement finds no issue, he will naturally be released."

’But it’s up to you whether he gets released or not,’ the surrounding Law Enforcers grumbled internally.

Isabella said, "But I don’t believe in your so-called Judgement. Roy admitted that Baron Constantin didn’t kill Anthony, yet you still sentenced him to the Time Death Judgment."

"That’s because he was colluding with the Dragon Witch at the time."

Elder Pence stepped forward and said in a grave voice, "Miss Isabella, as Beowulf’s Elder Daughter and the heir to that title, do you not understand when to prioritize the greater good?"

"Is it like how Roy Hestia managed to Transform into a Dragon and become a Dragon Attendant right under your nose, leading the Hestia Family’s Dragon Devourer Cultists to seal off Berthelili in an attempt to destroy the Mad Dragon Seal, which has led to this entire situation?"

Isabella sneered, "Baron Constantin killed the Dragon Witch in front of everyone. But you, Elder, have never killed Roy Hestia in front of any of us."

Elder Pence was at a loss for words; the Eldest Daughter’s rebuttal had left him momentarily speechless.

An Elder from a nearby Old Blood Clan, quick to read the situation, chimed in to support the condemnation. "Miss Isabella, you are still the Eldest Daughter of Izabella’s Family, the next successor to the Dragon Slayer Clan.

Can you bear to throw away your own bright future for the sake of Baron Constantin?"

Isabella merely gave a cold laugh. Her phoenix-like eyes swept across the crowd, and for the brief moment they met Freya’s, she saw the other woman lower her head slightly.

The corners of the Eldest Daughter’s perfectly sculpted lips lifted in a slight smile, making her appear all the more stunningly beautiful. "Baron Constantin is my friend. He saved my life once at Dragon Spear Plaza in the Dracul Mountain Range. I’m repaying that debt now; it’s a matter of my own personal honor."

She leveled her spear and declared:

"And now, Baron Constantin has already proven his innocence through his conversation with Roy Hestia and his previous act of killing the Dragon Witch. I am helping him out of a moral obligation."

At her words, a dead silence fell over the crowd.

Standing behind the Eldest Daughter, Baron was suddenly struck by a thought. ’She’s really incredible.’

"Elder Sister!"

Suddenly, another voice cried out. The crowd parted automatically to let Jose, Tune, and an Elder of the Beowulf Family through.

They urged Isabella not to go against the Law Enforcers.

Jose tried to help Isabella defend Constantine, but Tune seized the opportunity to proclaim that as the eldest sister, Isabella should lead by example and not ignore the greater good simply because she was an old acquaintance of the Dragon Knight.

But in the face of their arguments, Isabella simply said, "Constantine drew the Dragon Spear. By rights, that gives him a claim to the Beowulf Family’s line of succession.

"And according to the oath sworn at the founding of the Demon Hunter Association, not even you, Chairman Abraham, can take action against a member of the Beowulf Family without the approval of the Silver Faction."

The Old Cowboy sighed. "Miss Eldest is all grown up. It’s only natural she no longer acknowledges me as her teacher. But I’ll repeat myself: Baron Constantin cannot be handed over to you.

"At least, not until I have confirmed that he poses no danger to the Inner Side."

A fierce gust of wind swept down from the sky.

"Sorry, Mr. Abraham, you can’t take Baron Constantin either."

All eyes turned toward the source of the voice and saw a silvery-white, single-horned Celestial Horse circling in the sky.

On its back rode two Knights. One was Silver Lion Wilder. The other was a Celestial Horse Knight clad in a white helmet and white armor, carrying a white sword. He had perfectly white teeth, dark brows, and long white hair, and even wore white gloves.

"That’s Yisur, the Celestial Horse Knight Commander. He’s one of the three great Silvers of the Holy Hall, known as Celestial Horse Yisur. He’s as famous as Silver Lion Wilder."

Baron heard the small paperman on his shoulder whispering to him, "I didn’t expect the Holy Hall to even send him. Baron, you’re a real hot commodity in the Inner Side now."

Wilder and Yisur leaped down from the sky. A Knight Commander of the Celestial Horse Knights stepped forward, gave the two a knightly salute, and briefed them on the situation at Traitor’s Cliff.

At this, Gold, who was standing to the side, seemed to realize something and stepped forward to ask, "If I may, with the two of you Silver Knights here, does this mean the Dragon Tide in Berthelili..."

Yisur didn’t answer, but said coolly, "Before asking someone a question, please fix your collar first."

Gold’s expression shifted, but seeing Yisur’s icy, distant gaze, he ultimately did as he was told and straightened his collar until it was perfectly neat.

But then Yisur coughed, pulled a handkerchief and a vial of what looked like cleansing fluid from his coat, and offered it to him. "You have bloodstains on your face and hands. Please clean those up as well."

Gold: "..."

"Celestial Horses are the purest of Magical Beasts, so their knights are all a little obsessed with cleanliness, more or less."

Paperman Lucy whispered in Baron’s ear, "Yisur is the best of the Celestial Horse Knights, and he’s also a strong contender to be the next Holy Temple Knight Commander. His obsession with cleanliness is naturally much more severe than the average person’s."

Seeing the awkwardness of the atmosphere, Silver Lion Wilder stepped forward. "They’ve been temporarily repelled. Yisur and I cut that mountain range in half, and had Templar Knights station themselves there to hold the line."

Before the crowd could even marvel at their power, he paused and added, "But this will only contain the Dragon Tide for a few days. According to some of the Dragon Guides, this Dragon Tide is most likely caused by fluctuations from the Mad Dragon. To solve the problem for good, we must first deal with the Mad Dragon Seal."

’Cutting a mountain range in half...’ Baron felt he needed to completely re-evaluate the power level of the Silver Tier.

The Old Cowboy said, "The matter of Traitor’s Cliff can be left to the people from the London Tower. My objective here is simple: to take Baron Constantin."

But Yisur stepped between him and Baron. "I’m sorry, Mr. Abraham. You cannot take Baron Constantin."
