Westminster Bank
Chapter 529 - 291: Westminster Cathedral
The Old Cowboy ground the butt of his finished Tiger brand cigarette into the dirt. "The Holy Hall wants to wade into these muddy waters too? Then you should have sent that old fool Bode. The two of you Silver Tiers aren’t enough to stop me."
Wilder said, "Commander Bode mentioned that Mr. Abraham once owed him a favor."
"That was a personal debt, it doesn’t represent the Demon Hunter Association. Gold, Adam, Dewey... get over here."
The Old Cowboy shamelessly declared in front of everyone, "I merely assisted the elites of the Demon Hunter Association in capturing the Dragon Knight. Even if I do Bode a favor, what can I do if these young folks aren’t willing?"
"Besides, Elder Pence can vouch for me, right?"
As the Old Cowboy looked his way, Elder Pence could only give a polite nod.
Wilder and Yisur: "..."
The surrounding Law Enforcers also fell into a strange silence.
Evidently, they hadn’t expected the dignified acting president of the Demon Hunter Association, a Golden Beast Hunting Demon Hunter, to be so utterly shameless.
"Allow me to say a few words."
Saint Elvin cleared his throat. "What I want to say is, neither of you can take Baron Constantin, because..."
Wilder cut in, "The Holy Mechanism has its eyes on him too?"
"Because the Holy Cross Association also needs the Dragon Knight for research."
Jiang Ge, the Faith Knight who had been silent until now, stepped forward. He stated honestly, "Just now, I received an order from the Holy Hall to bring back the Dragon Knight, no matter what."
"I need you all to hand the Dragon Knight over to the Holy Cross Association’s sole authority. The Holy Hall will reward you for it."
The logic might have been sound, but the delivery was just too crude. It brought an expression to Old Abraham’s face that clearly said, ’Has this guy always been this gutsy?’
"Baron, you’re really hot stuff on the Inner Side right now." Lucy’s Paperman leaned against Baron’s cheek. "I only got this kind of treatment back when they tested me and found my Spirit Root."
"Spirit Root? Is that something they look for in the East?" Baron knew he shouldn’t be asking such questions in a situation like this, but he couldn’t contain his curiosity.
"It’s similar to how the color of your pupils can predict your upper limit when you use your Spiritual Sense. It’s just a term, though."
Meanwhile, as the major Law Enforcement Organizations were still arguing over who should handle Baron Constantin, a sudden, fierce gust of wind blew in from the distance.
"None of you are taking Baron Constantin." A voice, exceptionally familiar to Baron, boomed across the sky.
"Quick! Look up at the sky!"
As the atmosphere at the scene grew tense, someone suddenly shouted. Everyone reflexively looked up, surprised to see the Red Moon in the sky was now covered by dark clouds.
"Did the Wizards succeed? Has the Mad Dragon been sealed again?"
But as they watched the dark clouds, they gradually realized something was wrong.
The dark clouds obscuring the Red Moon seemed to be getting closer and closer, until a sharp-eyed Griffin Knight saw the thing’s true form and his breath caught in his throat.
"No, wait, that’s not a cloud—it’s a Dragon!"
"A Dragon?"
The Law Enforcers gasped. From their perspective, the sky was almost completely blotted out by the enormous Dragon.
Based on the Dragon Race’s theory—"the larger the body, the purer the bloodline"—and a Dragon Mighty so potent it nearly froze the Spiritual Power in the Law Enforcers’ veins, the circling Giant Dragon was almost certainly a Pure-blood Ancient Dragon.
"A Pure-blood Ancient Dragon? Hell! Didn’t they say this Dragon Tide was started by a Witch? Why is a Pure-blood Ancient Dragon here?! Counting the Mad Dragon in the Abyss, doesn’t that mean there are two Golden Tier Giant Dragons?!"
Some Law Enforcers gasped as they watched the Giant Dragon circle the sky.
"Could this Giant Dragon be... here for the Mad Dragon?!"
Someone among the Law Enforcers voiced this speculation, and as if on command, the entire group instantly adopted combat stances.
Knights formed ranks, Hunters drew their blades, and the Wizards... the Wizards were still on the cliff’s edge, preventing the Mad Dragon from breaking its seal, with neither the mood nor the time to pay attention to the situation here.
"Dammit, why haven’t those damn Wizards from the London Tower shown up yet! Are they really planning to just watch the Mad Dragon break its seal and let all of Britain turn into a madhouse?" some of the Law Enforcers complained outright.
Baron felt the wind howling overhead as he watched the Pure-blood Ancient Dragon circle above, then descend to the foot of the mountain with a roar like a crashing tsunami.
The Dragon Descendants who had swarmed the area melted away like snow in a fire. Those with exceptional eyesight could see three figures leap from the Dragon’s back and slowly make their way toward them.
The Law Enforcers held their breath, each one tightening their grip on their weapon.
Under the dim light of the Red Moon, they truly couldn’t tell if these sudden visitors were friend or foe, especially when their mode of transport was a Dragon.
Elder Pence stepped forward with the Patriarchs of the Old Blood Clans to ask the identities of the figures below.
But all that answered was a hearty laugh. Hearing it, Baron had a sudden realization—he was fairly certain he knew who had arrived.
He wasn’t mistaken.
The figures seemed to use a special method similar to the Eastern "Shrinking Inches," and in just the blink of an eye, they had arrived on the mountain and appeared before everyone.
Baron’s pupils contracted slightly.
The ones who had come up the mountain were Kasha, clad in black; Stella, a secretary with an elite air; and Howard, the vice president, impeccably dressed in a suit.
’Looks like Kasha managed to contact the vice president, so he came as backup... But a Pure-blood Ancient Dragon? Does Westminster Cathedral really have that much pull?’
